Chapter 1 - CHAPTER 1:The Last Wish

Phone rings softly in the dim hospital room.

"Hello…" A firm yet caring voice answered. "Are you eating properly?" the voice softened with genuine worry and concern. It was his only friend—his best friend.

"Yeah," Sung Ming Woo replied with a faint smile.

"How many days are left?" his friend asked, sadness evident in his tone.

"Hm… tomorrow's the end," Sung Ming Woo replied, his voice breaking slightly, unable to hide his pain.

"Forget everything. Do you know what's happening tonight?" his friend asked, trying to mask his sadness with an attempt at excitement.

"What's tonight?" Ming Woo's curiosity sparked at the sudden change in tone.

"Tonight's the meteor shower! The one that happens every 70 years. Let's watch it together. They say it can grant wishes." His friend's voice bubbled with excitement, as though willing that magic to be real.

"Really… then let's watch it together." Ming Woo feigned surprise, though he knew this would be his last night. He was terminally ill with brain cancer and had mere hours left.

"Okay, the nurse is coming. Bye. See you soon," Ming Woo said hurriedly.

The call ended, leaving him in the silence of his hospital room.

How can I tell you that my wish will never come true?

My name is Sung Ming Woo. I'm 19. It wasn't always like this—I used to be a bright child with a promising future. When I was 15, I won the National Martial Arts Championship, and at 18, I finally achieved the international title. But one day, I collapsed, and after a series of tests, they told me I had brain cancer. I'd already lost my family in a car accident when I was 10, leaving my aunt to raise me. And now… here I am, on a hospital bed, watching my life slip away.

---

Nightfall.

"Hey, Ming Woo, let's go watch it together," his best friend's voice was cheerful as he entered the room, masking the sorrow behind his eyes.

"Yeah, let's go," Sung Ming Woo replied, genuinely grateful.

Together, they went up to the rooftop of the hospital, gazing up at the sky as stars fell in streaks of light. His friend nudged him gently. "You should make a wish."

"Okay…" Sung Ming Woo whispered, his voice soft.

"If there's a second life… I wish to be happy." Ming Woo's words were sincere, calm—a final wish before his time ended.

"Of course you'll be happy. I'll always be with you," his friend replied, smiling with unshakable loyalty.

After returning to his bed, Ming Woo closed his eyes, feeling the weight of his last moments. It looks like my time has come… finally free from this miserable life. With a final breath, he let go, surrendering to the peace of oblivion.

But as he drifted, he suddenly found himself in an endless void. W… where am I? He felt a strange warmth, a light beckoning him, pulling him in.

When he opened his eyes, he was no longer in the cold hospital room. He found himself lying in a luxurious bed, surrounded by opulent decor and an unfamiliar energy in the air. Slowly, he realized… he had been reborn. A new world awaited—a world filled with magic and mystery, his second chance at life.
