Chapter 85 - Chapter 85: The Successful Transplant

"You know it too well. Our clan's current situation isn't great. The village higher-ups have never fully trusted us. On the night of the Nine-Tails' attack, the village's orders were for us to handle the evacuation of non-combatants. It's clear they don't trust us," Akira said with a hint of bitterness.

"Thankfully, Clan Head Fugaku was decisive enough to rush to the battlefield that night. Otherwise, our clan's situation would be even more precarious," Shisui added, a trace of relief in his voice.

"Alright, I've said what I needed to say. I need to make preparations now." Akira turned to Shisui.

"You should brace yourself, the success rate of this transplant isn't guaranteed."

"I understand. I'll be ready for failure," Shisui replied with a firm nod.

Outside the chamber, Uchiha Fugaku stood guard over Akira's motionless body. One of the weaknesses of the Spirit Transformation Technique was the vulnerability of the user's physical body. If discovered and harmed while the spirit was away, it could be catastrophic.

This was exactly how Kato Dan met his tragic end. While his spirit wreaked havoc on the battlefield, his unattended body was fatally attacked, leading to his demise.

The moment Akira's eyes fluttered open, Fugaku immediately asked, "How did it go? What did Shisui say?"

Akira smiled faintly. "Don't worry. Shisui has agreed to keep this a secret."

Fugaku raised an eyebrow in curiosity. "How did you manage to convince him? From what I know, the village holds considerable weight in Shisui's heart."

"In Shisui's heart, the clan holds just as much weight as the village," Akira replied with a smile. He then briefly recounted his conversation within Shisui's mental space to ensure Fugaku was aligned and wouldn't inadvertently reveal anything when speaking to Shisui later.

After listening to the summary, Fugaku nodded slightly and chuckled. "It's better not to tell him the whole truth. Shifting the origin of the cells to Uchiha Madara instead of the real source was a clever move!"

Fugaku glanced at Shisui's unconscious form on the bed, his body covered in tubes, and said,

"Let's begin the procedure. The sooner we complete the transplant, the better."

Akira nodded and retrieved a vial of prepared Hashirama cell transplant serum from his storage scroll. Without hesitation, he began the procedure, injecting the green serum into Shisui's body.

The moment the serum entered Shisui's system, his body reacted. The injection site turned visibly pale, and the discoloration started spreading like a skin disease.

The truth, however, was far more alarming—Shisui's cells were being aggressively consumed by the Hashirama cells, manifesting in the visible changes.

"This doesn't look good… Hashirama's cells are far too invasive," Fugaku muttered under his breath.

"Could this fail?" Akira frowned deeply, concern evident in his voice.

Just then, Shisui's tightly shut eyes suddenly opened, revealing dim Sharingan. At first, both men thought Shisui had woken up, but they quickly realized it was merely a reflexive response from his body.

As Shisui's body reacted instinctively, the spreading pale discoloration began to recede. His skin gradually returned to its normal tone.

Moments later, Shisui's body convulsed violently, as if enduring tremendous pain, and an unconscious groan escaped his lips. But soon, his trembling ceased, and his breathing became steady and strong.

"He's stabilizing," Fugaku whispered.

Akira observed carefully before nodding slightly. "Barring any unforeseen issues, it looks like it worked."

Both men noticed that Shisui's chakra reserves were beginning to recover, his depleted life force slowly replenishing. His once pallid complexion from overexertion was now returning to normal.

About an hour later, Shisui bolted upright on the bed, his sudden movement startling both Fugaku and Akira.

For a brief moment, Shisui seemed disoriented, blinking several times to focus on his surroundings.

"Clan Head Fugaku, Akira… I'm sorry to have caused so much trouble for the clan and for you both," Shisui said, his tone filled with guilt.

"That's not important right now," Fugaku dismissed with a wave of his hand. "What matters most is your condition. Carefully check your body for any abnormalities."

"Understood." Shisui nodded and closed his eyes to concentrate on sensing his chakra and physical state.

Akira and Fugaku remained silent, giving Shisui the space to assess himself.

After a while, Shisui opened his eyes, a stunned expression on his face.

"Something wrong?" Fugaku asked, a hint of tension in his voice.

"My vision… it's fully restored!" Shisui exclaimed, his face lighting up with joy. "After my battle with Nagato, I strained my Mangekyo Sharingan using Susanoo, and I was on the verge of blindness. But now… it's as if nothing ever happened!"

Fugaku's eyes widened in disbelief. "Is that true?"

Shisui blinked a few times, his gaze darting around the room to confirm. Finally, he nodded.

"It's true."

Hearing this, Fugaku's face broke into a wide grin. This was nothing short of a miracle.

The implications were immense. The transplant had not only restored Shisui's vision but had also stopped the inevitable decline of his Mangekyo Sharingan. In a way, it was as if he had gained a pseudo-immortal Mangekyo Sharingan, akin to a youthful version of the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan.

Fugaku couldn't contain his excitement, his mind racing.

With this, nothing in Konoha can stop the rise of the Uchiha Clan!

"Anything else?" Akira asked, interrupting Fugaku's thoughts.

"My chakra reserves have increased significantly, and the quality has improved as well," Shisui replied, activating his Sharingan. "Even my ocular power feels stronger. I think… if I use Susanoo again, it might evolve into something greater."

Shisui clenched his fists, determination flashing in his eyes. "If I were to face Nagato again now, I wouldn't feel so powerless."

Memories of his last desperate battle with Nagato surfaced—how he had narrowly escaped with his life despite giving it his all. That experience had left a deep scar on his pride.

But now, with his newfound strength, Shisui felt ready to reclaim his honor.
