Allen was falling not knowing what was happening, where Ophenius was sending him. As he was falling flashes of his family started to flood his mind and the death of his whole family felt like a blow to the head. As he was falling, he fell into a theatre.
Amidst the laughter, he saw a man get shot in the back of his head but before he could react the portal opened beneath him and he fell in.
He remembered his childhood with his mother, father, and little sister. It was like that until his father seemingly disappeared, and then their lives came crashing down like towers. Immediately, the thought of a tower came into his mind, and he fell into one of two tall skyscrapers. The radio was playing, and this was what it was saying.
"Good morning New York. Today is a beautiful day on Tuesday, September 11, 2001, and rush hour seems to have clogged up around the World Trade Centres. It's 7:45 and the planes are flying up high..." Another portal opened and he fell in.
Allen opened the door and slammed it. He walked past his mother who was cooking in the kitchen and ignored her. He bounced the soccer ball as he angrily walked to his room, walking past his dad who was sitting on the couch and walking to his room. After some time, his mom called for dinner. Allen walked down to the dining room of his house. He sat at the table and the father said grace and the family finished their dinner. As Allen stood up to go to his room, his parents called him for a talk. "What's wrong son? Why are you so blue today?" his father asked. "My coach said I should learn a new move. A move I clearly can't do and if I don't learn the skill, I don't get to play this week's match." His parents looked at themselves, then at him, then back at Allen. His father got down in front of him and said, "How bout this buddy? I help you train from tomorrow to Friday." Allen's face lit up and he hugged his father. After hearing this, he felt like the king of the greatest empire of the modern world.
He again fell out of the portal and into a funeral. We gather here today to celebrate the life of the greatest monarch of our time. The great QUE..." The portal opened and he fell in again.
TUESDAY
Right after school, Allen rushed home, changed into his jersey faster than Clark Kent changing into Superman, and rushed to his backyard to find nothing. He sighed with disappointment and sat on the ground. "Giving up already," he heard someone say. He turned around to see his father holding a soccer ball and mini training ground which he swore was not there a second ago. "Now soldier, are you ready to train?!" "Yes sir," "Are you ready to break every bone in your body?!" "Maybe." "Are you ready... to die...?!!!" "I don't wanna die." "Nobody wants to die son." "Let's get started!"
Allen spent thirty minutes warming up and when he was done he told his dad who had set up another training ground. "So you said you're supposed to learn the rainbow flick and the bicycle kick." "Yep." "So let's start with the rainbow flick. The trick is to roll the ball on the floor, raise it with your heel, raise it over your head, and kick it right before it touches the ground." Two hours passed before Allen got it right and just in time for his mom to call for dinner.
"Hey Mom, Dad helped me learn one of my new moves." "Is that so..." "Yeah." "Okay... I hope it works for you."
WEDNESDAY
Allen rushed home right after school, rushed to the backyard, and started warming up without waiting for his father. After about half an hour his dad showed up. Allen saw him and stopped training. "Oh, no don't stop. You were doing the flick pretty good." "I think I'm ready for the bicycle kick." "Are you sure about that?" Allen nodded and his dad left the scene. "Where're you going?" But his dad just ignored him and came back with a trampoline. "Dad we don't have a trampoline so where did you get it?" "That doesn't matter." "Dad, sometimes I think you're a wizard who pulls things out of thin air." Allen's dad just chuckled and they began their training.
"The trick is to kick the ball up in front of you, jump off your kicking foot, and kick," his dad said giving a beautiful demonstration. "Can you do that?" "I can try..." And try after try after try after try, he finally got it right, somehow. "Look, Dad. I did it, ish." "I know you'll get it right."
THURSDAY
Allen did the same thing he'd been doing for the past two days but this time his dad didn't show up but that didn't stop him. He trained on his own and was able to do both moves on his own.
"Mom..., where's dad?" Allen asked as he sat for dinner. "Yeah mom, where's dad?" Jana asked in a toddler's voice. "He's at work," their mom answered. "Yeah Mom, about that. What is dad's profession?" "Hearing this Allen's mom was visibly worried. "Uh..., you guys should just..." "Hey guys, hope I'm not late?" Allen's dad entered in the nick of time. "No Dad. You're just in time." "Hey honey," his dad said as he planted a small kiss on his wife's mouth. "His wife directed him to sit which he did.
Allen cut from his flashback and a tear escaped from his eye. And with that memory, he said, "I love you, Dad." He opened his eyes to see he'd fallen in a field. He looked in his arms to see he had brought along Orphenius' book.
He heard two loud stomps behind him and in a loud angry voice, it asked, "What are doing in my garden?!!!"
