"Everyone look, it's her!"
'Yes, it's me. What about it?'
"She killed her father!"
'That's right'
"Why is she still alive? She's supposed to have been dead!"
'You want me dead? Give it a try!'
'Sigh, this is what I get for being a monster. I need to get out of here,'
Sam hurried, drawing her broken leg along as she left the crowd, to a more quiet and dark area.
'I wish I could die but that won't be happening. Not when I am yet to discover what is wrong with me. It's like I'm being cursed inwardly r something... I kill without even realizing it and I feel satisfied. It's like something I was born with. Ugh, my life is freaking freaky'
A sad expression appeared on her face as she thought about her actions from killing her baby sister to killing her father. Killing the boys was a different case, it could be called an act of defense but. What should she call her father's own? She killed him and tried to make people believe he was at fault by feeding them a fake story.
Only her mother knew the truth but the old lady could not talk because she was scared of being killed by her daughter, nevertheless, people chastised her for killing her father even when she made it look like he's the one at fault. The only thing her mother did was drive her away from home, it was better to stay alone than to live with a monster. This was Sam's definition of her mother's action.
"Argh!" Sam grunted and held her leg. "Those bastards must have broken all the bones down there," she muttered. Her leg was in a bad shape as it was twisted backward, bad blood gathered in many spots with her veins popped out. If it was not properly treated, there was every possibility that she could loose that leg.
"Hey," someone called her and when she looked up, she saw a young man standing before her.
'When did he appear here? I didn't even notice his presence ' She thought while gazing at him warily.
"Don't be afraid, I'm not here to hurt you," the young man said. His face was covered with a mask so Sam could not see his face.
"And why should I believe you?" She asked him.
"If I wanted to kill you, I would have done it the moment I came here," the young man replied.
"Who are you?" She asked him.
"My name is Alexander and I want to help you," he replied.
Sam chuckled in disbelief at the man's words. 'Help? Such lame words!'
"You don't believe me, do you?" The young man asked and bent down.
Sam moved back unconsciously. "Don't touch me!" She warned him.
"Be calm," the young man said and continued. He placed his hand on her injured leg abd a glowing light emitted from it. Slowly, the bad blood began to disappear.
'The pain is going away' she thought as she watched the young man do what he is doing.
After a while, the pain all disappeared, same with the pains.
"I can only make the pains go away but I can not bring the leg back to it's original shape. We can only do so if you agree to come with me," the young man said to her.
"Come with you to where?" Sam asked him.
"To a place meant for kids like you," the young man replied.
"Kids like me?" Same asked him. "I am not going with you!" She said.
"You won't be treated fairly, I assure you," the young told her. "Just come with me, it is better than to staying in a place where you are hated and despised."
Sam fell quiet after he had said these. She was no longer needed here so what was the point in staying back. Her mother? Her mother doesn't want her anymore so she can as well, leave for good. This is the only thing she can do for the poor woman who lost her husband and little baby because of her.
"I'll go with you but first, I need to go somewhere," she said to him.
"Not a problem," he replied. "Wolfie, come out!" He called and a large flamy beast like lion appeared. It had wings on its back. "Get on, let's go," he said to her.
"What is that?" Sam asked him, she had never seen an animal so unique and large like that before.
"It's my beast," he replied. "He was initially stubborn and ferocious but I was able to calm him down."
"That's awesome, can I touch him?" She asked.
"I don't know if you ca—" The young man was stunned seeing that she was already touching the beast. 'Since when did he become friendly?' He thought inwardly.
"He's nice," she said to him.
"Yeah, I guess," the young man replied still surprised. "Since he likes you, I won't have to bother myself. Get on, let's move," he said to her.
"Okay," Sam replied. The beast lowered itself for her and she climbed on it with the help of the young man, and together they flew away.
The place she wanted to visit first was the place they buried her father. When the beast landed, she came down and walked over to her father's grave. She knelt down and bent her head.
"Father, I am sorry," she mumbled. "I am a bad daughter but don't worry, when I figure out the problem with me, I will make up for everything I've done to you and the entire family. I'll fight the devil in me and become a better person."
The young man and his beast watched as Sam mumbled to her father's grave. The young man could not hear what she was saying but he was aware of everything that has happened.
"Wolfie, do you think I made the right choice by asking her to join us?" He asked his beast.
'I don't know about you but I like her,' the beast replied in the man's mind.
"Liking her doesn't make any difference. What will your like do if she goes beserk again?"
'Well, you will be there to save her, isn't it?'
"Now, you are pushing the responsibility to me."
'It was your choice after all.'
"I'm done! Can we start going?" Sam asked them and they stopped talking and looked at her.
"Sure," the young man replied and they climbed on the beast and left.
Sam was unaware that her mother was hiding behind a boulder close to her father's grave, and the woman had heard everything she told her father. Tears rolled down her eyes, she was heartbroken and sad, not only for her husband but for her first daughter.
How could she have brought this upon herself and her family?
Years back, she could not have children. The ones she did have all died during birth and her husband's mother was beginning to trouble her. Out of desperation, she went to an evil shrine at her mother's town and pleaded with the god there to give her a child. It did give her a child but what she didn't know was the fact that the child given to her by the evil god will become a living disaster to not her alone but to the world.
"I didn't chase you away because I hated you but because of the guilt I bear towards you. Now that you out, I hope that you overcome your inner demons and become the once innocent girl that you were."
