Everyone present begins moving toward their rooms, exhausted from the day's training.
On the way, Livio asks Mr. Mogambo,
"Hey, Mr. Mogambo, why did you join the military?"
Mr. Mogambo smiles.
"I want to pay for my daughter's medical bills. The military is the fastest way to earn money. Even if you die on a mission, they'll still pay your family."
Livio looks concerned.
"But you're risking your life."
Mr. Mogambo pats Livio's shoulder.
"It's alright, Livio. Just like you guys, I don't have much of a choice. So, I live my life here to the fullest because I don't know what will happen tomorrow."
Livio smiles faintly and follows behind him. The atmosphere is calm, with no one making a fuss.
The scene shifts into Mr. Mogambo's mind.
A little girl and a grown man are playing catch.
"Here you go, Daddy, catch!"
The girl throws the ball toward her father.
Mr. Mogambo catches it with ease.
"Here you go, Lisa."
He throws the ball a little farther this time.
When Lisa runs to catch it, she slips and falls to the ground.
"It hurts," Lisa cries out.
Mr. Mogambo runs toward her, scoops her up into his arms, and comforts her.
"Oh, I am sorry. Daddy is really sorry, my princess. Please don't cry."
Lisa slowly stops crying and rests her head on her father's shoulder.
"Enough playing, you two. Come here and eat," calls Lisa's mom, bringing a plate full of assorted cookies and fruits.
Mr. Mogambo carries Lisa inside the room and gently places her on the couch. He begins eating, but notices his daughter isn't looking at the food or him. Lisa's mom smiles knowingly and heads back to the kitchen.
Gently, her father picks Lisa up again and cradles her in his arms.
"Daddy is sorry. Please forgive me."
He tries feeding her with his own hands.
Lisa smiles and begins eating from her father's hands.
"Hey Dad, when you return from the army, I'll defeat you!" Lisa says playfully, accidentally biting his hand.
"Ouch! You go, girl. I'll be waiting," Mr. Mogambo replies, brushing off the minor pain.
The scene shifts back to the present, where Mr. Mogambo looks at the sky and imagines his wife and daughter smiling at him. He reaches toward the sky, grabbing thin air, then smiles and continues walking.
"Hey Livio, are you scared of the mission?" Khalid asks, catching up to him.
"I am. I don't know how it will go," Livio admits, tightening his grip on his stone.
"Have you met the other members of the supply group yet?" Khalid inquires.
"No, but I'd be happy to." Livio glances at Khalid.
"Okay, I'll introduce them to you after we wash up," Khalid says, moving toward his room.
Livio takes a shower, emerging in a simple white cotton T-shirt, gray shorts, and flip-flops.
Knock, knock! Livio opens the door.
"Let's go. Everyone's waiting," Khalid says, leading the way.
Livio follows Khalid as they climb the stairs to the third floor.
"Come to think of it, I've never visited the other floors. I was so focused on my friends and training that I forgot there are more floors above us," Livio remarks while looking around.
The view of the third floor is stunning. The hallway is adorned with colorful stones and lined with numerous pillars.
"Here we are. Let's go inside," Khalid says, opening a door.
Livio follows him into the room and sees a lively crowd enjoying themselves.
"I can't sense strong PBV energy from any of them. Does that mean none of them have awakened their PBV?" Livio thinks, momentarily spacing out.
"Livio, you okay?" Khalid asks, snapping him out of it.
Livio smiles.
"Sorry!"
"You know, I hate people like you. You're the type of bastard who likes to show off," Dimitri sneers, stepping forward with a glass of wine in hand.
"We should calm down, guys. He hasn't done anything to upset us," Ivo interjects, trying to de-escalate the situation.
"Are you sure? That bastard practiced PBV even though we don't need it in the supply team. He did it to spite us. I hate looking at his face," Levente spits on the floor in front of Livio.
"What's wrong with them? Am I really supposed to call them my comrades? These bastards gave up on improving themselves and awakening PBV, and now that I've done it, they're just jealous. Not all of them, though," Livio thinks, clenching his fists before calming himself.
"I think you've said enough," Khalid says, stepping forward.
Livio stops him.
"Let it go."
The room fills with murmurs as people start speaking ill of Livio.
"Kick that bastard out!" someone yells.
"Look at his eyes. He's looking down on us!" another adds.
"Enough, you guys! Let's calm down and enjoy ourselves. We're going to be comrades soon," Timo shouts from atop a table.
The room goes silent as everyone stares at Timo.
"That bastard sold himself to Livio," someone jeers, pointing at Timo.
"Oh, you're right!" another chimes in, finishing his drink.
"Take this, you bastard!" someone shouts, throwing a glass at Timo.
The crowd follows suit, hurling objects at Timo, Livio, Khalid, and Ivo.
When the chaos ends, the four are left in a mess, covered in food and drinks, surrounded by broken glass.
Dimitri approaches Livio.
"Look at you—no dressing sense. We can never be comrades," he sneers, pouring wine directly onto Livio's face before leaving.
The four begin cleaning the room.
"Livio, why didn't you stop them?" Khalid asks, scrubbing the floor.
"If I had, this floor would have turned into a battlefield. It's better to avoid fighting unless necessary. Why waste my energy on a bunch of fools? It's better to ignore them," Livio replies, helping with the cleanup.
"Sorry we met like this. I'm Ivo. Nice to meet you," Ivo says, wiping the floor.
"It's okay. Don't think too much about it. Nice to meet you too," Livio replies, offering a handshake.
"Aren't you scared of dying? I'm terrified. I'm also afraid of unknown animals," Timo admits, his voice trembling.
"It's okay, Timo. Thanks for stepping in. Nice to meet you," Livio says with a smile.
After three hours of cleaning, the group sits together, drinking fresh juice.
Elsewhere, Dimitri kicks a pillar in frustration.
"Damn it! How did that bastard Livio manage to awaken PBV?"
"We tried so hard and still couldn't do it. Now we're stuck with bottom feeders. I hate being with these lowlifes," Levente adds, kicking another pillar.
"Dimitri, how about we get rid of Livio?" Levente suggests with a creepy smile.
"You're right—not just him, but also his three friends," Dimitri agrees, patting Levente on the shoulder.
