Synopsis

Enkyklios Paideia

[Greek for encyclopedia, this chapter will serve as the general collection of the various terms that will be used throughout the novel]

"Centurion" : A man responsible for the well being and training of the men in his century. Often considered the best fight in said century, the centurion is considered as the highest rank in the century.

"Century" : A term used in the Roman military context to define a combat group of 100 men. 

"Circus Maximus" : the largest Roman hippodrome as well as being the largest sport arenas ever built, in which chariot races were held within its U-shaped structure.

"Greek" : Was considered the language of the learning man. Thus being used by people in power as a formal language for politics and the such.

"Latin" : The mainstay language used by most in the Italian peninsula after Roman Domination.

"Forum Boarium" : The cattle market of Rome, it was located in between the river Tiber and Capitoline, Palatine, and Avantine hills. 

"Temple of Jupiter" : A temple dedicated to the roman God Jupiter, symbolises "sovereignty and immortality" of Rome. 

"Lictor" : a Roman civil servant that was an attendant and bodyguard to a person or magistrate who held imperial/consular authority.
