"What is it? I'll give you what you need." I answer and look at him, waiting for his reply. If he wants something, then I'll give it to him. I need the money, after all.
"Hm. I'll leave it up to later. I have something in mind, although it won't happen now." He finally says after thinking it through for a moment. Okay, so he does have something he wants to have.
"I'm a freelance bard, but I have a badge of approvement, so it's not illegal for me to perform outside without restraints. Although that requires times, a lot of stamps, and a horde of papers." He answers, and I nod. I guess it's not a pleasant memory for him...
"I see. Can you please show me a local guild? I'm actually new here, so I don't know much about this village." I ask shamelessly with a small smile. Let's use him while I still can. He's useful.
"Yeah, it figures. I mean, who the heck doesn't know how we make money around here?" He retorts back sharply and crosses his arms. "But I'll show you. Since I'm so kind."
'I didn't think about that. I must seem really weird...' I sigh a bit and just nod as he mentions showing me the local guild. Okay, money secured. Probably.
After we walk through the village green and some streets, we arrive in front of the guild building. It seems pretty ordinary, although it's definitely bigger.
It's a wooden, two-story building with a big front door. Above the door hangs a sign that reads 'Local Guild'. Ah, how creative. Whoever named it like this probably lacked creativity or was too lazy.
There's also a bulletin board next to the guild with some papers attached to it. I look over some, and I see a request for hunting... 3 Kance? Okay. I'm lost. It's probably how they call an animal, but I have no idea which one.
"Let's go. It's open to anyone, really." Merle says, distracting me from the bulletin board, and I nod as I follow him inside.
I check out the interior and the people around us. Behind the counter is a young lady with black hair and dark brown eyes. She's wearing a uniform that has a badge.
There's a total of 3 sections that the counter is divided into. On the walls, there are papers with other commissions and requests.
I look around and read some. 'Collect 20 Berrichecks - 4 bronze', 'Find a small, white cochk with one green and one blue eye - 3 bronze', 'Collect 12 Dules and 6 Pampel heads - 7 bronze'. I can guess some of these words, but most remain unknown.
Merle, meanwhile, observes me from the entry. 'He seems kinda lost. Does he not understand those requests?' He thinks as he watches me with a sharp eye.
I walk towards the counter and look at the lady behind the counter in section 2. "I'll take the Berricheck commission." She simply nods and hands me a scroll, and I take a look at it.
I take the scroll and thank her. I then walk up to Merle and show him the scroll, which has details about the commission written on it.
"I got one." I smile a bit, and he takes a look at it. He simply sighs but doesn't say anything. I know that collecting flowers may be boring for him, but it's still something.
"It's the best that I can currently do." I say and avoid his gaze. But I need it... I really do need it! If I don't do this, then I'm as good as dead in this world.
