POV: SAINT
It was Sunday. We didn't have much stuff so we had finished unpacking yesterday. It was a quiet house. My mom doesn't talk much, sometimes she just be in her own world looking at pictures and reminiscing about them. I've learnt to accept that sometimes people just want to be left alone. Overall, it was a boring day for me.
I decided to go round the apartment ground to just look at the environment. I wanted to make a new friend but knocking on the doors of people here would just be straight up weird.
"You are wierd" my wolf, Alex , says.
"Great way to make yourself known alex" The only thing you should know about Alex is that he has a smart mouth.
"We've moved to a new pack now, New Moon. Initiation is tomorrow" I said
"I know pumpkin. You do know I live inside you right? No that's not it, I AM YOU" he said smugly.
"I know smart ass, I was just saying" I shot back.
"I'm not speaking to you again, bye" He blocked me out. Jerk.
"Why are you frowning at the ground? Did it offend you?" A boy said amusedly.
"Oh not really....just me and my wolf" I said, letting out an awkward laugh.
"That happens to me too. I'm Mateo by the way" he said. I looked at him. He is olive skinned with dark hair. He is slightly taller than me and he is young too.
"I'm saint, just moved here"
He gave a small laugh. "I know, I saw you in the Beta's car on Friday. I came with the bus" he stated.
"That would be true. What pack did you come from?" This was my attempt to change the topic so I don't continue to sound stupid.
"From the Blood Moon pack. I'm originally from a pack in Mexico. But I didn't like it so I relocated to Europe." He said sadly.
"Why? If you don't mind me asking " I said. I didn't want to go further in the subject if he wasn't comfortable with it.
"No it's fine. I was an outcast in my previous pack because I'm....well, I'm gay" he said gaging my reaction.
"Not to worry, I'm not homophobic. Love is love" I said assuringly. I'm not even sure if I'm gay, straight or bisexual.
"Majority of my former pack members were homophobic. It would have been bearable if my parents weren't also homophobic" His mood had drastically changed.
"I was only 16 and had to fend for myself. The only job I could find was a room attendant. It wasn't a good pay but there wasn't a job offer for a 16 years old."
"I only got a breakthrough when a VVIP booked and I had to sign an NDA .That was what got me a lot of money to relocate here." He finished.
"I'm so sorry that happened to you" I said taking a step closer. "Sorry, I don't know what to do or say, I'm not really good in comforting people" I said hoping he doesn't hate me.
Mateo laughed a little. "That's okay. It has eight years ago anyway. I'm better now honestly. Enough about me. What brought you here?" He asked
"Omega issues. My pack was still stuck in the traditional ways" I told him.
"That's stupid of them. Everyone should get equal opportunities. Why limit someone because of their second gender"he said. I never wanted to be someone's friend the way I wanted to be his.
"Right? I heard this pack is different so here I am" I said
"Well me too. Let's hope tomorrow goes well" he said. I hope so too.
********
It was Monday and I was kind of nervous.i wonder what the alpha would be like. Most importantly, the pack members. They're the ones I would interact with more. If they're anything like the beta then I'm good. Like grumpy Ben? Then I'll pray to the moon goddess they're always in a good mood.
Grumpy Ben had told us to group outside by 10 in the morning so he could take us to the training ground to meet the Alpha. It was 10 now. When we got to the training ground, we met the Beta who told us to wait a bit for the Alpha.
Alex was restless. I asked him severally but he wouldn't tell me what was wrong, saying he couldn't place it.
"Are u alright? You seem restless" Mateo asked, concern in his voice.
"Yeah I'm fine. Just nervous, new Alpha and pack" I said
"Well so far they seemed nice. It'll be fine" he said to ease my nerves. The more time passed the more Alex became restless.
Then it hit me. Earthy, musky and fresh; the smell of rain.
Entered the most handsome man I've ever seen in my life. Mate, mate, mate. Alex chanted jumping around.
His grey eyes met mine and I was entranced. I couldn't look away. We maintained eye contact with each other until he whispered something to the beta and walked out. Confusion clearly written on the Beta's face.
Was I being rejected? He just walked out without acknowledging me? Maybe he had something important to do?
I didn't know what to think. I don't think I would stand it if I was rejected. Alex whined at the thought of rejection. Was fate playing a trick on me? The Alpha was my mate? Or maybe I was mistaken? But I knew what I smelt. That was no mistake.
I didn't listen to what the Beta had said. I didn't even know he was talking until my mom tapped me to get my attention.
"The beta is done talking, saint. Are you okay? Did you even listen?"
"Uh yeah, yeah I did" I said distractedly.
"No, no you didn't " she said. "Are you okay saint? What's wrong? "
What should I do? Do I tell her? But I hadn't talked about it with the Alpha.
"I'll tell to you later mom, I promise. I just have to do something first alright? She nodded.
"Mateo can you please go with my mom to the apartment? I'll come later. I have to do something" I told him.
"It's no problem but hope everything is okay" he asked.
"Yeah, I just need to do something " I told both of them.
"Alright, come ma" Mateo said holding my mum and leading her outside.
What I'm I going to do?
