Chapter 197 - The materials are in our hands. Let's take action!

Though Xu Que was internally pleased, he was no fool. He quickly feigned a grave demeanor and inquired, "Do you need me to craft B-class weapons?"

"Yes," replied Maier with a smile. "In the coming days, I will reach out to several companies, and I believe they will be eager to cooperate with me."

Upon hearing this, Xu Que felt a surge of joy within, never imagining that as he was preparing to eliminate these parasites, they were instead bringing him a grand gift!

Unnoticed by anyone in the room, Xu Que's grip tightened around the materials list in his hands. Even those present were oblivious to his heightened excitement.

As the meeting progressed, Xu Que could hardly focus on anything, his mind solely occupied by the list in his grasp. In truth, during his previous life, he had only come across a few key figures from the Chasfield family. But seeing the nearly hundred core members listed before him, he now grasped just how formidable the Chasfield family truly was.

This revelation confirmed to him that success is never sudden—it is built upon an array of essential factors.

Days passed, and in a mere three days, Xu Que had elevated his forging skills to an apprentice level. Although there were no special enhancements during this forging, Xu Que had grasped the method for crafting B-class weapons with a hidden strike.

He surmised that the nature of his crafting insights was closely tied to the items he had been forging. The previous time, he had been focused on the B-class Hunkter Armor, and this time, crafting three B-class daggers had revealed the secrets of the hidden strike technique.

While Xu Que was honing his forging experience using the materials provided by the Chasfield family, Maier entered the room, accompanied by his sister, Evelyn.

Xu Que paid little attention to Evelyn, whose looks barely met his standards. Her unattractiveness aside, she carried herself with the airs of a spoiled lady, as though everyone owed her something. Xu Que often wondered how the same genes could result in such a vast difference in appearance.

"Xu, you've been working hard lately," Maier greeted.

"It's been manageable. I've already delivered this batch of C-class weapons to Uncle Sun Jefe," Xu Que replied, pausing his work.

"I see," Maier said, his expression less than pleased. "I had hoped you'd forge B-class weapons for our family members, but since A-class materials are so hard to acquire, I've only managed to obtain these."

Upon hearing this, Xu Que glanced at the materials on the transaction interface. To be honest, there was quite a substantial amount of materials here—enough to craft four A-class weapons—but sadly, he only had one A-class weapon blueprint at the moment.

"These materials aren't even enough to forge a sword mold," Xu Que confirmed.

"There's nothing I can do," Maier sighed. "A-class materials are scarce, and A-class experts are too cautious to risk attempting in the A-class space. But don't worry, once Carlo and the others secure a large number of B-class dimensional spaces, we'll obtain better resources."

Xu Que didn't respond to Maier's words. It was time to make his move. The materials were already in his hands, and from the current state of the Chasfield family, he doubted they held any important territories.

Noticing Xu Que's silence, Maier reflected that he shouldn't have boasted so much at the meeting.

"Xu, you can continue with your work. I need to speak with Majello about some matters."

"Understood, Boss. Take care," Xu Que said with a smile as he saw them off.

Evelyn cast a disdainful glance at Xu Que, a cold snort escaping her lips. Xu Que paid her no mind—after all, tonight he had plans to act, and he'd make sure to leave a few scars on this woman's face as interest for the past few days.

Night fell, and Xu Que slowly opened his eyes, sitting up on his bed. He was already well-acquainted with the Chasfield family's manor layout. He knew exactly where the guards and sentries were positioned, even with his eyes closed.

As for whether he feared being detected by Carlo, Sun Jefe, or the others? That was a concern for lesser beings. As an S-class expert, he saw them only as slightly larger ants.

The security of the Chasfield family manor was formidable—at least to outsiders. But in Xu Que's perception, it was full of holes!

At 1:00 AM, when exhaustion took its toll and the guards' vigilance waned, Xu Que knew it was the perfect moment to strike. After all, the pineal gland in the human brain secretes melatonin at this hour, lowering bodily energy and heightening fatigue—ideal for his operation.

He wouldn't be foolish enough to charge in headfirst; the enemy had too many forces, and he feared some might escape and retaliate.

Spotting a few villas with their lights out, Xu Que silently leapt, flying towards the villa where Carlo was located.

In the garden, Xu Que blended seamlessly into the shadows. Like a swift leopard, he darted forward, his movement so fluid that not even the leaves of the surrounding vegetation stirred.

Before long, Xu Que reached the first sentry post. Hearing the sound of snoring from within, he grinned, quietly turned the doorknob, and darted inside.

Before the two guards could react, there was a sickening crack as their necks snapped.

Having disposed of the two guards, Xu Que swiftly departed and dashed toward the security room.

Inside, four guards were playing cards, oblivious to the danger. Xu Que silently opened the door.

"Huh?"

One of the guards looked up, but before he could speak, his pupils dilated in shock. The next moment, he was dead, his neck snapped by Xu Que's hand.

The three other guards, still unaware, were quickly silenced by Xu Que.

Approaching the security computers, Xu Que deleted the month's worth of backup footage and destroyed seven hard drives. Still not satisfied, he shut off the power supply before leaving the room.

"That should cover it," Xu Que muttered to himself as he turned his gaze toward the security personnel atop the wall, a cruel smile curling at the corners of his mouth.

For those with tactical flashlights, observing the manor's movements, Xu Que was a force to be reckoned with—each guard fell with a single strike.

The guards who were asleep never stood a chance. In just ten minutes, the entire security force around the manor had vanished.

As Xu Que cleared the outer defenses, he quickly moved toward the final sentry post in the manor's rear courtyard.

Just as he reached the entrance, he overheard two familiar voices.

"Bell, didn't you consult Carlo about us?" Louang asked.

"I did, but Carlo refused," Bell replied helplessly.

"FXXK!" Louang stood up in a rage. "Let me wake him up with my piss."

When Louang headed toward the restroom, Bell pulled out his phone to watch a live stream.

Yawning, Louang pushed open the sentry room door, only to freeze as a familiar figure appeared before him.

"FXXK, it's not a ghost, is it?"

Before Louang could speak, a black longsword sliced through his neck, silencing him forever.

Xu Que stepped forward, holding Louang's body with his left hand while using his right to stifle the spreading scent of blood.

"What's your problem, standing at the door like that?" Bell muttered as he turned off his phone.
