As Liang Jinya recounted the plan that Xu Que had devised and the preparations they had made, Murong Xian'er's eyes widened in disbelief.
She could not have anticipated that Xu Que, with such audacity, had set his sights directly on the Chasfield family of Y Country.
This was akin to dancing on a tightrope at ten thousand meters above the ground!
"Did you not stop him?" Murong Xian'er asked cautiously.
"No, we chose to support him," Liang Jinya replied with a smile.
Murong Xian'er placed her hand on her forehead, utterly exasperated. These people were mad, and worse, they were gambling with their own lives!
"You've been in business for so many years—surely you understand what kind of people the Chasfield family are?"
Liang Jinya nodded. "I know. That's exactly why I chose to go mad alongside Xu Que."
Murong Xian'er stared at her with disbelief, her eyes wide.
"Madhouse. They're all crazy, not a sane person among them!"
Liang Jinya smiled without speaking, fully aware of the madness behind their plan, knowing exactly what they were getting into.
Seeing that Murong Xian'er had fallen deep into thought, Liang Jinya sat quietly, waiting.
Though time was of the essence, there was no need to rush—after all, their opponents hadn't arrived yet, so there was still time to prepare.
Murong Xian'er looked up at Liang Jinya and asked, "Are you sure they only want to take Xu Que, and nothing more?"
"What do you mean?" Liang Jinya was confused.
Wasn't the message one of both threats and enticements? Why was she hinting at another motive?
Murong Xian'er sighed, a little exasperated. Was it really that hard to understand?
"You're a businesswoman. You should have some understanding of the children of God. Do you really think they do things for only one purpose?"
At these words, Liang Jinya's expression shifted as realization dawned upon her.
Indeed, they were the Hebrews—people who saw the world as indebted to them. Their logic, one that resembled that of vicious, predatory bandits, was far from that of a normal person.
"Are you saying they might target the Frontiers Building?" Liang Jinya rose to her feet, her voice tense.
Murong Xian'er thought for a moment, then shook her head. "Not necessarily, but they will definitely target the Explosive Sky Company. In their eyes, Explosive Sky Hunter Company is a divine gift, so they'll certainly find a way to squeeze every bit of value from it. As for their exact plan, we'll need to gather clues from their conversations."
Upon hearing Murong Xian'er's use of the word "gift," Liang Jinya recoiled slightly, for it was a term she was all too familiar with.
"How about you join in?" Liang Jinya asked.
"Do you mind?" Murong Xian'er tilted her head and smiled.
"We're in the same boat. Even if we didn't let you join, you'd still be able to extract the information you want from me," Liang Jinya replied with a smile.
Murong Xian'er, unsure, shook her head. "Then you should probably tell me about that matter now, shouldn't you?"
At the mention of Xu Que's secrets, Liang Jinya couldn't help but twitch her lips.
She had suspected that this girl wouldn't be an easy one to fool, and now it seemed her suspicions were correct.
After thinking for a moment, Liang Jinya realized that she couldn't hide this for long anyway, so she might as well tell her soon-to-be sister directly.
Half an hour later, Liang Jinya left Murong Xian'er's office.
Now, Liang Jinya was in high spirits, for her goal had been accomplished.
Meanwhile, sitting in her office chair, Murong Xian'er was still reeling from what Liang Jinya had just told her.
Although her family had uncovered some secrets, she never imagined Xu Que would have so many!
Regaining her composure, Murong Xian'er stood slowly, walking to the window, and gazed out at the sky.
"So it seems... I know more than all of you put together!"
...
The moment Xu Que stepped into the Frontiers International Building, Liang Jinya's message arrived.
Seeing the contents, Xu Que quickly took the elevator to the fifty-second floor.
As he entered Liang Jinya's office, Shen Mengchu stood up and handed him a small listening device hidden inside her clothes.
"Just keep it in your clothes," she instructed.
Xu Que took the small device and nodded. "They've already arrived?"
"Yes," Shen Mengchu replied. "Jinya and I have already arranged it. They'll come looking for you soon."
"Alright, if anything goes wrong, we'll discuss it afterward," Xu Que said, turning and leaving swiftly.
After watching Xu Que leave, Liang Jinya spoke. "Let's go. The rest is up to him."
Shen Mengchu nodded, and she and Liang Jinya took the elevator to the top floor.
Inside the elevator, Xu Que pondered how to get the others to reveal information. Lost in thought, he barely noticed when the elevator doors opened.
In stepped Murong Xian'er, smiling.
"What's the matter? Running into trouble?"
Xu Que furrowed his brow. What was going on?
Murong Xian'er pulled out her phone, sent a message to Liang Jinya, and then showed it to Xu Que.
"Don't say you don't want this. Men should be more honest!"
Xu Que's mind was in turmoil. He never expected that this high-level "green tea" would have already infiltrated their inner circle!
"Got a plan?" Xu Que asked.
"Here, this is for you." Liang Jinya handed him a small device, resembling a tiny earpiece.
"What's this?" Xu Que was confused.
And who could blame him for being confused? He had just received a listening device from Shen Mengchu on the fifty-first floor, and now he was getting something that looked like an earpiece on the forty-eighth floor. Was this some kind of spy game?
"Put it in your ear. We'll be listening from the basement floor. If you're stuck on what to say, I'll give you some pointers," Liang Jinya explained.
Realization dawned on Xu Que, and like a well-trained subject, he obediently inserted the earpiece.
"Good," Murong Xian'er nodded in satisfaction.
Xu Que was speechless. He really wanted to do something to her just then.
"What's wrong? Are you impatient? Excited?" Murong Xian'er smiled at Xu Que.
"Yeah, just afraid of being stained with 'green tea' myself," Xu Que replied shamelessly.
"Then do you want to wash the cups or try the teapot?" Murong Xian'er asked, her voice laced with mischief.
"Ha!"
At that moment, Xu Que nearly lost it, almost succumbing to Murong Xian'er's playful jab.
"Alright, we'll talk more about tea culture another time. I'm sure you'll be captivated," Murong Xian'er laughed.
"I really doubt you're the precious daughter of the Murong family. How can you speak like that?" Xu Que gave her a thumbs-up.
"Stop daydreaming, you hooligan!" Murong Xian'er shot him a look. "I'm talking about real tea culture. What were you thinking?"
"I'm talking about real tea culture too, just with much larger cups," Xu Que said, feigning calm.
"Alright, save your little schemes. We've arrived," Murong Xian'er said, stepping out of the elevator.
Xu Que felt awkward. He never expected this "young miss" to be so playful. She was truly extraordinary!
Just as Xu Que stepped out of the elevator, he heard Murong Xian'er's voice in his ear.
"Knock gently three times, right next to your ear."
Xu Que sighed and knocked three times. He really wanted to complain to Murong Xian'er—was this thing a one-way device?
And as it turned out, he was right. The device was indeed one-way.
As for the knocking, Murong Xian'er was just teasing him. After all, such tricks of playful revenge weren't something that happened often, especially not with Xu Que!
