Chapter 167 - Demonic pets, the conversation between grandfather and grandson about God's plan

With a cheerful grin, Xu Que sheathed his black sword and picked up two items from the ground. But just as he did, a notification stunned him.

Opening his inventory, he focused on the last item he had picked up.

**[You have obtained a Demon Beast Egg.]**

**[Name: Bloodthirsty Demon, A-Class (Unhatched).]**

**[Quality: Epic (Gold).]**

**[Note: During the hatching process, there is a high chance of hatching a Bloodthirsty Demon, a moderate chance of a mutated Devouring Demon, and a very low chance of hatching a Sacred Spirit-Class Demon Pet.]**

Xu Que blinked, glancing at the White Cloud Ferret, which had only just been revived, and then at the Thunderclaw Bear Egg, which was slowly incubating. Suddenly, he felt that these two creatures were no longer quite so appealing…

"Can someone please tell me what's going on here?"

Having struck a disguised demon egg, he had now received an egg in return…

"Damn, this is... incredible!"

Xu Que was elated. He had initially thought that the Thunderclaw Bear was a great prize, but by sheer accident, he had just gotten his hands on an A-Class Demon Beast!

He quickly tossed the egg into his Dragon Yuan space, deciding to let it hatch slowly. As for the Spirit Spring water... he couldn't bring himself to use it just yet. After all, such a valuable item was much better for trading resources.

Taking out his timer, he glanced at it before continuing to walk toward the altar, while inspecting his spoils.

**[Name: Withered Bone Necklace, A-Class (Unique Pendant).]**

**[Quality: Epic (Gold).]**

**[Active: When used on a target, it temporarily shrouds them in darkness (Charging Time: 60 minutes).]**

**[Passive: While equipped, it grants resistance to some dark attacks and boosts dark attribute attack power by a small amount.]**

"This could come in handy for keeping Jin Yu safe."

**[Name: Dark Fist Sword, A-Class (Unique Weapon).]**

**[Quality: Epic (Gold).]**

**[Active: Upon activation, instantly teleports you behind your target (Charging Time: 12 hours).]**

**[Passive: Increases dark attribute attack power while attacking, boosts agility slightly, and increases critical hit chances slightly.]**

**[Note: The sword of the mutated demon, Res, forged from the teeth of Hellhounds and the Book of Darkness. It is one of the proudest creations of the Demon Walker, Fendeliru.]**

"Gods, this weapon... it's invincible!"

Xu Que stared at the active effect, already fantasizing about transferring it onto his Primordial Sword. If he used it to kill a creature or human… one strike, and they'd be finished!

He couldn't help but imagine how perfect this weapon would be for Yue Yun. After all, for Yue Yun, this would undoubtedly be the ultimate killing tool!

As for Huang Bo, he wasn't even a consideration. Yue Yun was a perfect fit for the assassin-dagger style.

**[Name: Dark Ring, B-Class.]**

**[Quality: Fine (Purple).]**

**[Active: Casts a dark curse on the target with a chance to cause blindness (Charging Time: 90 minutes).]**

**[Passive: Gives a chance to inflict dark attribute damage during attacks.]**

"Wait a minute... is this a set?"

Xu Que was slightly annoyed. The combination of the fist sword and ring was clearly part of a Dark Series.

Scanning the rest of his loot, which was mostly materials, Xu Que lost interest.

Glancing around at the surrounding ruins, he thought, since it was his first time here, he might as well explore a bit. After all, learning more about demons would be a huge help for him.

**Chasefield Manor, Y-Country.**

After receiving information from Asura, Leisi furrowed her brow. The message from the King of the Underworld had thrown a wrench in her plans.

"What did he say?" asked Meijello in a deep voice.

"The King of the Underworld said Xu Que is not an ordinary person and advised us to abandon this mission," Leisi replied.

Meijello's gaze locked onto Leisi as he asked, "What do you think?"

"The King of the Underworld is always meticulous. If he says there's a problem, there definitely is. It's just unfortunate about this person," Leisi said.

"God has spoken—Zha Tian Corporation owes us, and we need to reclaim what's ours," Meijello said gravely.

Leisi immediately understood his meaning.

"Rest assured, Zha Tian Corporation will belong to us one day. But before that, I want to test the waters. After all, God has said Xu Que is our slave."

Meijello nodded, standing up and heading for the stairs.

Once he left, Leisi took out her phone, sending messages to Luan and Bell. Then she quickly dialed Kate for a satellite call. After understanding the situation in Xiangcheng, she then called Mand of M-Country. Upon learning of Leisi's actions, Mand said nothing but immediately began executing the divine plan!

Half an hour later, Luan and Bell arrived at the manor.

Leisi briefed them on the divine plan.

Upon hearing they would take action, Luan and Bell smiled viciously. They had been eager to do so for quite some time.

"You two will go to Demon City this time. I want Xu Que brought back!" Leisi said with firm resolve.

"Understood. We will complete the mission," Luan and Bell replied in unison.

**Upper Capital, Wang Family Courtyard.**

When Old Ye heard the message delivered by Ye Gou, his expression became grim. He hadn't expected Xu Que to be openly slapping his face like this.

"Old Master, did you agree to their request?" Ye Gou asked curiously.

Old Ye shot a glare at Ye Gou before nodding helplessly.

"Damn, you actually agreed to this?" Ye Gou gave an approving thumbs-up.

"Shut up," Old Ye snapped, slamming a stack of documents onto Ye Gou's desk. "I did it for the sake of a few countries. After all, our Z-Country now has the power to confront the Abyss. We should extend a helping hand."

"You agreed too quickly, though. Didn't even ask my leader's opinion," Ye Gou teased. "And the Sima family won't agree to these terms, will they?"

Old Ye fell silent, reluctantly nodding again.

Seeing Old Ye at a loss, Ye Gou secretly relished the moment. But thinking about the bigger picture, he knew he couldn't back out. After all, aside from his leader, no other company would agree…

"Why not have you talk to my leader directly?" Ye Gou suggested cautiously.

"Looks like I have no choice. If we must, we'll just take some resources from other cracks," Old Ye replied helplessly.

Ye Gou raised his thumb. "You truly have a sense of duty, willing to sacrifice your country's resources to maintain good relations with them."

Of course, Ye Gou wanted to tell Old Ye that his moral high ground was naïve—when the country faced danger, no other country had offered help. But he kept quiet. After all, his philosophy was that of a rogue, while his elder's 'benevolent' policies were hard for him to accept.

"By the way, have Ye Huan and Ye Xiang come to see you?" Old Ye asked.

"They have, but I didn't agree," Ye Gou chuckled. "Those two, they really think I'm a fool. They treated me like dirt before, and now they want me to help them get back at someone?"

"Bang!"

Old Ye kicked Ye Gou with fury in his eyes.

"They are family. You should help them. And a B-Class dimensional space is a great training opportunity for you."

Ye Gou looked back at Old Ye and said, "We may be family, but they've never treated me as such. Plus, they're much closer to Ye Jingchen than to me. Don't you think that's a problem?"

"Have the people from Nanjing come to see them?" Old Ye asked.

"They've been to see them, and now they're almost wearing the same pants. And Ye Jingchen's momentum is far greater than our family's."

Upon hearing Ye Gou's words, Old Ye fell into deep thought. Truth be told, he didn't want to face the reality, but the obstacle of Nanjing was something that couldn't be overcome.

"Old Master, you must understand, a traitor can't simply be forgiven. As my second uncle always says, those people from Nanjing deserve death!" Ye Gou remarked with grim determination.

Hearing Ye Gou's words, Old Ye shot him a hard glare.

He knew well what his second brother had said, but they were all from the same bloodline. If he did too much, it would dishonor their ancestors…
