Chapter 162 - The content of Chen's diary

Xu Que pondered for a moment before choosing not to learn the skill. Although it was powerful, it didn't offer significant benefits for him.

Firstly, he had not awakened his bloodline.

Secondly, as he was not an elemental-type ability user, acquiring it would be somewhat of a waste.

He decided to set it aside for now, to see who might benefit from it in the end. After all, Ye Gou, Duan Jiude, and Zhao Xian were his primary candidates.

**Name: Wild Hammer C-grade (Unique Equipment)**

**Quality: Fine (Purple)**

**Passive: Increases your physical attack power when you strike, but reduces attack and movement speed.**

**Remarks: A cumbersome half-beast war hammer with astonishing destructive power. It is forged from rare spiritual minerals and symbolizes the glory of the mighty half-beast warriors leaving their tribes.**

"Not bad, this is perfect for Qi Shan!"

**Name: Infernal Serpent Armguards C-grade (Unique Equipment)**

**Quality: Fine (Purple)**

**Passive: Increases attack speed, with a chance to trigger a windstorm effect.**

Upon seeing these armguards, Xu Que glanced at the distant Shi Xiaohao, who was meditating.

"Forget it, I'll give these to him."

**Name: Anchor Point Fragment A-grade (Half Fragment)**

**Quality: Epic (Gold)**

**Remarks: When combined with another fragment, it will form an anchor key that can be used to locate the dimensional relics.**

Upon seeing the A-grade anchor fragment, Xu Que furrowed his brow, recalling the forbidden relics documented in the Xiu Skuland's journals, hidden in the basement of the Rehmann Manor.

A level twelve existence… What kind of treasure could that be?

The Jiamaran journals only recorded ten types of forbidden techniques... This suggested that Jiamaran was not the strongest forbidden builder.

Xu Que took out the crystalline board for calculations.

Although he occasionally played with it, the thief Xiu Skuland had stolen this very item from a relic of Tang's.

Could this Tang be the strongest forbidden architect?

"Too bad… No leads on Tang. Otherwise, I'd love to explore those forbidden treasures."

As for the remaining materials, Xu Que didn't inspect them further. Even if he had the materials, he couldn't craft any related equipment just yet.

He took out Chen's journal and began reading immediately.

"Dear Qian, by the time you read this journal, I regret to inform you that I will no longer be able to complete the task you entrusted to me.

The frontlines are becoming increasingly dire, and I've only discovered one plant related to the Dream Potion, the Hidden Grass.

However, I've learned the formulas for two other potions, and I hope they will help solve your problem."

"Blood Fury Potion: 2 Fire Fury Grass, 1 Ghost Orchid, 1 Crystal of Flame Spirit, 1 Iris Root."

"Luck Potion: 3 Green Vines, 1 Soft Silk Grass, 1 Rejuvenation Tear, 1 Crystal of Earth."

"Once again, I apologize and hope you can forgive my inadequacies. Qiantong Tavern, Chen."

Xu Que felt an overwhelming urge to shout in astonishment.

Though he had no idea what the Dream Potion was, the Luck and Blood Fury Potions were extraordinary!

He recalled the secondary Luck Potion from his past life—its attributes were nothing short of divine!

A bottle of secondary Luck Potion had once been priced between ten and fifteen spirit stones. While it could only be consumed once, its effects were permanent, boosting all attributes by 10 points and all magic resistances by 5%.

But now, he held the full recipe for the potion!

He carefully tucked the journal away, fully aware of its priceless value.

As for the Blood Fury Potion, though its properties were unclear, its value likely rivaled the Luck Potion.

Xu Que glanced at the timer—it had only been twenty minutes. He then resumed reading Chen's journal.

"Longyuan Empire, Year 17,836 of Longjian, Spring.

I've finally arrived at the dreamlike Qiantong Tavern. Here, I met Just and Fan, fellow apprentices like myself.

Today, we visited Master Jia, from whom we learned the Qi techniques. Though I'm still unskilled, I believe I will be the most talented apprentice at Qiantong Tavern."

Xu Que was momentarily confused, as this seemed to be a new world's record-keeping method. Moreover, the tavern didn't seem to be about brewing alcohol—it resembled more of a martial arts school.

"Could the Qi they're referring to be spiritual energy?" Xu Que muttered.

He wasn't interested in the daily life of these records; he only wanted to find treasures or any other useful information.

Quickly skimming through, his eyes stopped on a passage.

"Today, we went to Yaoxing City and saw the legendary Tang. Despite being over ten thousand years old, he still appeared youthful."

"Tang? Over ten thousand years old?"

Xu Que was stunned. What kind of life span was that? Was he some kind of turtle-like creature? Was this Tang the owner of the mirror?

Turning the pages, Xu Que was struck when he reached the second-to-last entry—the world had finally started to change!

"Longyuan Empire, Year 17,916 of Longjian, Mid-Autumn.

The sky collapsed! The earth cracked! Countless portal-like rifts appeared on the Panlan Planet.

A great number of unidentified monsters invaded our homeland.

Though we don't know how these creatures appeared, as disciples of the tavern, we chose to fight.

These monsters were fierce, but their combat abilities were only average for us.

However, something strange happened: a bizarre interface appeared before us, displaying our information, and even the Qi we had cultivated.

We later learned that this interface was called the 'System,' and interestingly, after killing the vicious monsters, our Qi gradually increased."

Xu Que's heart raced. What kind of creature was this Chen, claiming the dimensional creatures weren't strong?

Flipping to the last page, he quickly skimmed through, then opened the final journal, his eyes widening at the date and events described:

"Longyuan Empire, Year 18,886 of Longjian, Late Summer.

Emperor Longjian died in battle, and his body was sent to the mausoleum by Tang.

We were neither sad nor weeping, for only by slaying the so-called Old Gods could we win this war! Longjian and Tang had told us that those Sun Gods were nothing but powerful monsters to be slain!"

Xu Que's shock grew as he read further. This Chen had not only slain the Old Gods but had even hung their corpses at the tavern as trophies. From this, Xu Que understood that the Old Gods were also ranked.

How they were ranked depended on their antennae and wings.

"What kind of creature is this, that can kill the Old Gods?" Xu Que muttered, though he still doubted the authenticity of these records. However, after a careful check, he confirmed their truth.

As he continued to read, Xu Que's sense of dread deepened. If such a being could defeat the Old Gods, it had also been defeated by an even stronger creature—a true divine entity.

"Longyuan Empire, Year 670 of Longheng, Winter.

I took on Qian's request to search for the Dream Potion, and I agreed to help with the task."

When Xu Que saw that Chen had accepted the task, he hastened to read on, eager to discover what had happened to this Chen that caused him to fail his commission.
