As Shen Mengchu and Liang Jinyu entered the reception room, Zhang Dahai's eyes never left their faces. Though, due to the descent of Tianyuan, he had shared the bed with many women, none could compare to either of these two.
"Damn it, women like this should belong to me, Zhang Dahai…"
As Zhang Dahai fantasized about conquering them, Liang Jinyu threw a file onto the table in front of him.
"Mr. Zhang, we're all intelligent people here. I won't waste time with pleasantries. You must already know what we want."
Hearing the sharp, no-nonsense approach from Liang Jinyu, a faint, indifferent smile appeared on Zhang Dahai's face. However, when he looked at the name on the document, his smile froze.
"What is it that you want?" Zhang Dahai asked, clutching the document.
"It's quite simple," Liang Jinyu smiled. "The various formula blueprints your company provided to Xiangcheng."
"Not the resources?" Zhang Dahai asked, confused.
"Do you think that a Hunter Company like Tianhun would lack your small, insignificant resources?" Liang Jinyu countered, her tone sharp.
Zhang Dahai fell silent, fully aware of the clout Tianhun Hunter Company possessed. Based on the intelligence they had gathered, Tianhun not only had government backing but also supplied resources to Z Country's military. There were even whispers suggesting that Shen Mengchu was none other than the number one ranked in the Territory Sky List—Yazi!
"Mr. Shen, don't you think this is somewhat unethical?" Zhang Dahai said, his voice a little hesitant. "After all, we're just the hired party. And..."
Before he could finish his sentence, Liang Jinyu interrupted.
"Mr. Zhang, we all know your company's background. If you continue this charade, do you think the authorities will stay silent?"
Zhang Dahai's gaze shifted toward Liang Jinyu. It was then that he realized, this negotiation was entirely being led by her, not Shen Mengchu.
"Providing the blueprints is no problem," Zhang Dahai said, his voice steady, though a flicker of unease passed through his eyes. "But what do we get in return? Don't tell me you think the authorities won't make a move. Even if they don't, you should know who stands behind us."
Liang Jinyu smiled, her eyes twinkling with quiet amusement. "Zhang Dahai, tell me, do you think you're more powerful than the Chen family? Do you have more influence or wealth than they do?"
"Even if we are not as strong as the Chen family," Zhang Dahai began, a sly grin forming on his face, "leaving Z Country is still quite easy for us."
"Oh, and if we don't want you to stay, it won't be possible either. If I'm still here an hour from now, the two B-level powerhouses downstairs will come charging up. You can't afford the losses when that happens."
"B-level?"
Liang Jinyu and Shen Mengchu exchanged a glance and smiled in unison before speaking in unison, "We are B-level too!"
Their words struck like thunder, rendering Zhang Dahai speechless for several moments.
"Zhang Dahai, I was just thinking you were a clever man, but it seems you're quite the fool," Liang Jinyu said mockingly. "You thought we were negotiating with you. In reality, you're not even worth our attention. From the very beginning, we've been talking to those behind you."
Zhang Dahai's eyes narrowed as the realization dawned upon him. He finally understood why Tianhun had called him here, and why Xiangcheng had similar intentions.
"Pawn should know its fate," Liang Jinyu continued. "We want the blueprints and formulas not just for the sake of getting what's ours, but to show those behind you that nothing in Z Country comes easily."
Though Liang Jinyu's tone remained calm, the meaning behind her words was clear.
Just as Zhang Dahai was about to respond, his phone rang.
Seeing the caller ID from Xiangcheng, he quickly picked up.
"Old Wolf, your mission is complete. Give the phone to that woman," Kate's voice came through the line.
"Yes, Miss Kate," Zhang Dahai replied respectfully, then handed the phone over to Liang Jinyu.
Liang Jinyu didn't take the phone. Instead, she calmly instructed, "Put it on speaker."
Zhang Dahai nodded and put the phone on speaker.
"Hello, Miss Shen, I'm Kate. It's a pleasure to cooperate with you."
"Hello, Miss Kate," Liang Jinyu said with a smile. "Since you want to cooperate, would you be able to show some sincerity?"
"Certainly, but I have one condition," Kate responded.
"And what might that be?" Liang Jinyu inquired.
"Give us Xu Que, and you can make any offer you wish," Kate said.
At last, the fox's tail was revealed. Liang Jinyu and Shen Mengchu exchanged a knowing look.
Though they knew what Xu Que was after, they still had to play their part in the negotiation. After all, Xu Que was the one who would be wielding the knife in this plan.
"Miss Kate," Liang Jinyu said with a soft smile, "Do you realize what you're asking for? We want the blueprints to help someone make equipment that can compete for a spot on the rankings, yet you directly ask for a person. Do you think this is still a deal worth pursuing?"
"Miss Shen, you misunderstand," Kate's voice was calm. "We're offering a genuine deal. You can lend us the person, and as for the price—five B-level territories, plus one hundred spirit stones."
Shen Mengchu and Liang Jinyu exchanged a surprised glance before shaking their heads.
On the other side of the table, Zhang Dahai watched the exchange closely, his eyes sharp.
"Miss Kate," Liang Jinyu said firmly, "This isn't how business is done. If you really need that person, we'll talk when the time comes. But for today, we're done here. Goodbye."
Before Zhang Dahai could hang up, Kate spoke again. "Then give us some more time."
With that, Kate ended the call.
"Zhang Dahai," Liang Jinyu said, her voice cool. "You can leave now, but next time you come, don't look at me with that repulsive gaze, understood?"
With a wave of her hand, the water cup in front of Zhang Dahai cracked.
Seeing this, Zhang Dahai finally understood.
"Apologies, I'm just a rough man. Please forgive me," he said, bowing slightly.
Liang Jinyu and Shen Mengchu nodded before leaving the reception room. There were some things that couldn't be discussed there.
As they exited, Zhang Dahai clenched his fists, a flash of anger and greed crossing his eyes.
On the fifty-second floor, Liang Jinyu and Shen Mengchu stood in the hallway.
"What do you think?" Shen Mengchu asked.
"Kate will definitely report to the Chaisfield family. Though we acted interested, they might not believe it. At least three or four more rounds of negotiations will be needed before a final agreement is made," Liang Jinyu replied.
"Alright, as long as it doesn't interfere with the plan," Shen Mengchu said. "But do you think Zhang Dahai will really bring the blueprints next time?"
"I believe he will," Liang Jinyu said with a nod. "They want to confirm Xu Que's situation, so they'll be willing to part with something."
"Good, I'll head up now. I need to tell him everything that happened today."
Liang Jinyu smiled and watched Shen Mengchu leave before entering her office.
As she touched the freshly changed bed linens, a faint blush crept across her face.
Meanwhile, in the dimensional space, Xu Que kicked Ye Gou's backside.
"With that attitude, you're a freak? I'm starting to wonder if you even know how to kill a chicken!"
"Big Brother, killing a chicken is not the same as killing dimensional creatures!" Ye Gou protested.
"It's the same. These dimensional beasts are just bigger. Once you find their weak spot, a single strike will kill them." Xu Que replied, delivering another kick.
Ye Gou argued, "Big Brother, stop speaking as if you've never fought. I've seen your battles, and it's not as easy as killing a chicken."
"Wham!"
Xu Que delivered a brutal strike to Ye Gou's head. "I was speaking figuratively! And your battle stance is all wrong. If I wasn't watching, you'd be dead by now, just like that Red-Tailed Boar!"
Ye Gou fell silent, feeling bewildered as the conversation veered off course. Xu Que gave him another kick. "What are you daydreaming about? Get back to fighting the dimensional creatures, or I'll just throw you in there myself!"
