Chapter 10 - Fight against the Level B BOSS, Lortas

Returning to the chaotic battlefield, Xu Que turned around before locating the items dropped by the elite goblin.

He opened his personal inventory.

[Name: Greedy Crystal D Grade (12/100)]

[Quality: Excellent (Blue)]

[Item Category: Collects spiritual energy within a radius of 100 meters.]

What a marvelous find!

Xu Que felt a surge of excitement; although this item might lose its value later on, it was incredibly useful now.

Moreover, compared to spiritual crystals, this was essentially an infinite power bank.

[Name: Weakening Slime B Grade]

[Quality: Fine (Purple)]

[Item Category: Can be used on any target within a ten-meter range, ensuring the target enters a weakened state 100% of the time; when used on injured creatures, it has a high probability of inducing a debilitating effect, lasting 30 seconds.]

At that moment, Xu Que was exceedingly thrilled, as this was precisely the kind of item he had been lacking. Although it might be somewhat redundant in the future, it was undeniably one of his trump cards for defeating the BOSS!

[Name: Jungle Boots D Grade (Unique Equipment).]

[Quality: Excellent (Blue)]

[Passive: Increases the wearer's movement speed and has a chance to induce a sprinting effect.]

While it might seem inconsequential, it was better than nothing!

Xu Que equipped the gear and glanced around, realizing there were no further items to collect before he began preparing his trap and obstacle plan.

After more than an hour, Xu Que wiped the sweat from his brow, surveying his meticulously crafted setup with a sense of satisfaction.

Although these traps and obstacles would have little effect on that colossal creature, they would at least help restrict its movement and likely afford him multiple opportunities to strike.

He positioned a pristine spear at the designated point and, after checking that his remaining weapons were in order, Xu Que strode purposefully toward the heart of the forest.

The goblin tribe was exceedingly rudimentary, constructed from dozens of logs haphazardly piled together.

Upon spotting the oversized mutated goblin, he immediately recognized it as Lothas, the goblin general mentioned in the records from his previous life.

There were whispers in the past that Lothas was a hybrid of orc and goblin, while others speculated that goblins were merely the juvenile form of orcs.

Regardless, many had discussed such theories, and even Xu Que, upon encountering this otherworldly creature, had entertained doubts about its lineage.

Cautiously approaching the entrance of the tribe, he picked up a stone and weighed it in his hand.

"Whoosh!"

The stone struck Lothas squarely on the head.

"Roar!"

Lothas emitted an enraged bellow and charged toward Xu Que.

Xu Que raised a spear and hurled it swiftly at Lothas.

With a resounding "thud," the spear was effortlessly swatted aside by Lothas's massive hand.

Seeing that Xu Que had sprinted far ahead, Lothas dragged his colossal hammer and pursued him.

Reaching the edge of the forest, Xu Que quickly drew two more spears and pivoted to throw them at Lothas.

Though Lothas appeared sluggish, his speed was deceptive; before the spears could reach him, he swung his massive hand to deflect them.

Xu Que had anticipated this reaction; if he could simply pierce Lothas with a spear, he would not have prepared so many weapons.

Entering the forest, Xu Que leaped over the obstacles and propelled himself onto a nearby tree.

"Crash!"

Lothas's gigantic hammer slammed into the trunk, creating a breach.

Xu Que seized three spears and hurled them down at Lothas once more.

Drawn in by Xu Que's distraction, Lothas failed to notice the obstacles beneath him, charging forward in a frenzy.

The spears whistled through the air, but Lothas continued to wave his arms to fend them off. At the very moment he advanced, Xu Que dashed toward Lothas, brandishing his long knife.

"Crash!"

Lothas fell to the ground as Xu Que executed a slashing strike.

With a crunch, the long knife shattered, yet the blade's momentum did not falter.

Sensing the imminent danger, Lothas attempted to pull his hammer back to defend, only to realize in the next moment that his weapon was ensnared!

"Splatter!"

Thick, brown blood streamed from Lothas's neck.

Recognizing the urgency, Xu Que turned on his heel and fled; he knew just how formidable Lothas was and that attempting to slay him with C-grade skills and only a slight proficiency was nothing short of folly.

Lothas rose with a furious roar, swinging his hammer to smash the surrounding trees.

The sharp sound of splintering wood made Xu Que shudder as he sprinted ahead.

If struck by that hammer, he would surely be obliterated!

As Lothas vented his rage, he swung his hammer with each few steps, toppling trees in his path, now panting heavily from exertion.

Seeing this, Xu Que seized four spears and charged forward, determined not to grant Lothas any respite, for the true spectacle awaited him further on!

The spears flew toward Lothas, who flailed his enormous hands to parry them.

Yet after swatting away the third spear, Xu Que's fourth spear pierced through Lothas's fingers.

"Thud!" The spear embedded itself into Lothas's skin.

Though it was a mere superficial wound, it was a significant humiliation for Lothas!

Seeing the massive creature enraged, Xu Que promptly turned to escape.

At that moment, Lothas was furious; had he been capable of human speech, he would surely have berated Xu Que's ancestors.

Hearing the furious roar behind him, Xu Que arrived at a clearing in the grass, picked up a spear from the ground, and turned to await Lothas's approach.

Upon seeing the diminutive figure wielding another spear, Lothas raised his hammer and hurled it at Xu Que in a fit of rage.

"Whoa!"

Xu Que had never witnessed such a move! He swiftly rolled to the side to evade!

"Boom!"

The enormous hammer crashed into the ground, instantly obliterating a portion of the hidden traps.

Furious, Xu Que realized his plan to lure Lothas into the traps had been thwarted; now, the right-side trap lay utterly destroyed!

As Xu Que contemplated utilizing the other traps, Lothas charged furiously toward him.

"Since you intend to crush me with your hammer, I shall make you retrieve it!"

Xu Que dashed toward the colossal hammer, but as soon as he exerted force, he realized he had overestimated his strength.

"Ah!!"

Summoning all his strength, just as he threw the hammer, Lothas had already closed the distance.

With a roar and a furious punch, Xu Que narrowly avoided the wind of Lothas's strike.

Before he could regain his footing, Lothas's enormous foot came crashing down.

Dodging and rolling, then leaping backward, each close call drained Xu Que's mental fortitude, causing blood to seep from his nose!

Seeing this, Lothas glanced at his hammer and then at Xu Que, who was not far off.

Noticing Lothas's shift in focus, Xu Que hastily retreated; he did not want to be targeted as Lothas's primary prey!

As Xu Que prepared to flee again, Lothas hurried toward his hammer.

But in the next instant, Lothas appeared to shrink slightly, then erupted into another furious roar.

Xu Que's heart soared with delight as he seized his long knife and charged forward.

Lothas, now enraged by the wooden spikes embedded in his skin, had initially intended to retrieve his hammer and crush the pesky fly. Instead, he found himself outmaneuvered by the very fly he sought to eliminate!

With his knife once more shattering against Lothas, Xu Que quickly retrieved the "Weakening Slime."

The blade's edge cleaved Lothas's skin, and before he could utter a roar, a thick, sticky substance descended onto the wound at his neck.

Xu Que pulled out several daggers and unleashed a flurry of attacks on Lothas.

Weakened, Lothas's strength diminished significantly, bringing him to a level nearly equal to Xu Que's own.

As the daggers shot forth like darts toward Lothas, Xu Que shouted, "Control!"

A green-tinged dagger accelerated rapidly, relentlessly stabbing at Lothas's eyes, neck, and ears!

Brown blood spattered as Lothas, in agony, flailed in an attempt to grasp the dagger that had blinded him!
