Chapter 11: Freedom?
Evel once again found himself in the first scenario of this bloody nightmare.
After enduring this torment more than a million times, Evel had named each part of this nightmare. Currently, he was in the first part, which he called the "Noisy Scenario." Why? Simply because there was so much noise from those screaming pigs and bitches.
He looked around with a faint hope that something might be different, but he was bound to be disappointed.
"What and why did I even expect any change? It was the same a million times, so what would be different just one more time?" Evel mocked himself for his foolishness, trying to ease his loneliness.
"I should think of a way to escape from this hell, but how? I've tried everything, but to no avail."
The only time he had succeeded in bringing even a little change to this world was by using his talent.
Yes, by using his talent. Evel's talent was devouring flesh to gain power, but that was according to his knowledge and its utilization.
But now he was sure that devouring was not the only power his talent had, or he could say devouring didn't only mean eating something by mouth.
The first time he got to know about this talent of his was during his five hundred and fiftieth time by pure accident when he was trying to eat those corpses in the "Dirty Scenario" out of anger because they were staring at him like stalkers.
"Dirty Scenario" was the name Evel had given to the second scenario. The reason? There were dirty and perverted corpses everywhere. And why were those corpses dirty instead of delicious? It was because he couldn't eat those shits.
Remembering them still makes him sigh in regret, "That is pure waste of delicacies."
"No, no, I should think about escaping, not about eating." Evel started to think calmly.
This world is at its weakest when the scenarios are changing and the weakest while the nightmare ends and starts again.
That was the best time to influence this world.
The first time he used his talent to devour those perverted corpses, the world had stopped for a while, and even the last scenario didn't come as if his talent was competing with a different one.
But that didn't last long, only for a few breaths of time, and after that, this world returned to its original pace.
From that moment on, Evel gained something called hope—the hope to escape from this bloody nightmare, the hope to gain freedom.
He tried to use his talent more than a million times to perfect it completely.
He tried every new trick he could think of.
In some attempts, he even ate his own leg to see what would happen, but it grew again in the next attempt.
In short, people could say that Evel had gone insane.
While he was thinking all of this, only a little time had passed in that nightmare.
The shouts and noises of those souls started to come again, making Evel annoyed yet again.
"Can't you fucking noisemakers scream with a different melody now? I am tired of those usual screams. Why are your voices always so annoying? Die fast and be silent. It is so boring," Evel listened to those screams so many times that he could even mimic them and predict what was coming next.
At some point, he started to make these screams his beatbox and began to rap to ease his loneliness and boredom.
But he didn't know his rap would be so bad, even worse than those screams, so he stopped.
Finally, the "Noisy Scenario" ended, and the "Dirty Scenario" began.
Evel personally hated this part, even more than the noisy one.
He again found himself in the middle of the river of corpses and blood, all the corpses staring at Evel motionless.
"These perverted corpses again, they are staring at me like I am some kind of jade beauty.
"I feel ashamed calling them my clanmates. Thank God they died. What God? That fucking bastard, I told him to reincarnate me, but instead, he transported me to this fucking boring place," Evel was looking at the corpses with pure anger and annoyance.
"What's in your eyes, disappointment? For whom, me? Fuck you, I am even more disappointed in you shits of crap. You died so easily without even putting up a fight, and you expect a three-year-old kid to avenge you? Go and fuck yourself," he began to curse those corpses non-stop.
After some time, the "Dirty Scenario" ended, and the last scenario began, which Evel named the "Peaceful Scenario," because it was simply so peaceful—no fucking noises and no perverted corpses, only two shy people who ran away from him.
"Ha ha ha, go and fuck away, who cares about you? Don't worry, I will not be coming behind you," Evel began to laugh maniacally.
"Those fucking corpses should learn from them, sigh..." he let out a sigh.
After that, Evel bent his legs into a posture he found most comforting and began to meditate to calm himself—not really meditate, but began to focus on his talent.
This time he was confident that he would succeed. Why? Simply because of his practice of this more than a million times.
Evel did not waste his time until now; he would concentrate on developing his talent as it was the only means of his escape from this nightmare.
He came to understand more and more about his talent. Devouring was not only eating and consuming but more than that.
There is no limit to what one could devour, but it was a question of how much one could devour.
To devour others, first, the person should devour and refine oneself.
He could even devour his emotions now. If he wanted, he could be emotionless, but emotion was necessary.
Evel was sure his achievement was not below master rank in the Devouring talent.
He could now use his talent like breathing; there was no need to activate it.
After some time, the last scenario was about to come to an end. He stood up from his posture, his face calm and expressionless.
Just as the "Peaceful Scenario" ended, his talent was activated.
The dark and hazy world began to suddenly shake violently, cracks started to appear everywhere, and just like a mirror, the world shattered into pieces.
Evel stood there motionless, a slight smile appearing on his face. "Goodbye, you fucking nightmare, goodbye to those fucking corpses, and bye-bye to those two shy puppets. Hope I will never return here again."
The world shattered around Evel, and his vision turned dark.
For a moment, he thought he had finally gained freedom from the nightmare that had tormented him for so long.
But when he opened his eyes, he found himself in a dark void. It wasn't the oppressive darkness he had grown accustomed to; instead, it was filled with thousands upon thousands of light particles.
Some were small, some were large, and some were so tiny they seemed to disappear.
"What the fuck is this again?", Evel wanted to scream but no voice came from his mouth but there wasn't any so called mouth in him.
