Chapter 15 - Chapter 15: Killing the Sea King

"Ah!" Hannah watched the live broadcast with great interest. Suddenly, a loud bang echoed, and a figure burst out of the water. She screamed in fright, jumping up instantly and taking a few steps behind Ingrid.

At this moment, Ingrid's heart raced; her face changed dramatically, and she felt a tightness in her throat, as if she needed to expel something to breathe easier. However, Hannah's scream forced her to swallow the impulse.

She turned around and hugged Hannah tightly. "It's okay, it's okay! Don't be afraid; it's the King of the Near Sea! He can't get out of the computer."

Hannah tilted her head, peering at the live broadcast interface on Ingrids's computer, still in shock. "Why does this King of the Sea look so terrifying? Is it real?"

"It's real." Ingrid gazed at the pair of blood-red eyes on the screen, her heart pounding faster as she felt a rush of adrenaline. This kind of thing couldn't be fabricated by special effects.

"Bang!"

In a dorm room filled only with the sounds of mouse clicks and keyboard taps, a sudden loud bang resonated as a fat man toppled off his stool.

"Fuck! Fatty, what are you playing that's so exciting? You can even roll on the ground?" one of his two roommates exclaimed.

The two rushed over to help the fat man up, but he stood up on his own, shouting, "Quick! Come and see! Is this live broadcast real or fake?"

"Is there another 18+ live broadcast?" one roommate teased.

"Fatty, even if you have something good, you must take care of your health!" the other added with a chuckle. However, their playful expressions quickly changed to horror as their eyes darted towards the fat man's computer screen.

"Fat, fat, fat man, you said this is a live broadcast?"

"Ah! Hmm! ..."

In a double bedroom at the Sunshine Hotel, a beautiful young woman was straddling a young man, working diligently. Soft moans escaped her lips as she exerted herself while the young man remained fixated on the iPad in his hands.

"Yes! Sofia, faster, faster!" the young man urged, excitement bubbling in his tone.

The young woman rolled her eyes at him, a hint of disdain crossing her face, but she quickened her pace. Since she had been paid for her services, she figured she might as well treat it as a favor to him.

"Ah!" Just as she intensified her efforts, the young man screamed, causing his iPad to slip from his grip and crash to the floor. He abruptly pulled away, his lower body instinctively shrinking.

"Brother Kai, are you okay?" the young woman asked, unable to keep her balance and shooting him an annoyed look.

"Ah! Oh! Get out of the way!" The young woman's voice jolted the young man back to reality, but instead of resuming his enjoyment, he pushed her aside and scrambled to retrieve his iPad.

"Damn it, this isn't really time travel! Why didn't such a good thing happen to me?" he muttered, frustration evident in his voice.

"Come on, anchor. Eat another one, and I'll give you a rocket!" someone shouted from the live stream.

"Okay! For two big rocket, I'll eat two more! Watch out!" a young boy with a round face replied eagerly as he grabbed a caterpillar from a plastic basin in front of him and stuffed it into his mouth.

"Ugh!" At the moment the boy bit down, another live broadcast window suddenly appeared on his screen, causing him to spit the caterpillar back out.

"Anchor, are you okay? I sent you rockets, but this caterpillar can't be eaten anymore, so let's skip it," a concerned viewer chimed in.

Despite the influx of messages, the young boy seemed oblivious, his eyes glued to the new broadcast window that had appeared on his computer.

"Ah!" he screamed suddenly, tears streaming down his cheeks after a moment of silence, startling his more than 3,000 viewers.

"Anchor, what's wrong?" viewers bombarded the chat with concern.

"Anchor, what happened?" another user asked frantically.

"Why are you crying? Did the caterpillar burn your mouth?" another joked.

"Don't cry, anchor! Tell us what's wrong; let's see if we can help!" A girl with a round face puffed up her cheeks, shouting, "Someone has traveled through time and is live-streaming it! How am I going to live in the future?"

---

The King of the Near Sea erupted from the water, its massive form blocking out the sun. Its terrifying presence and blood-red eyes caused hearts to race. Even through the screen, viewers felt as though they were plummeting into an icy abyss, the chill spreading through them.

The deep, guttural sounds reverberated like a beast's roar from the depths, striking directly at their hearts and dismantling all self-righteous defenses.

The overall appearance of the King of the Sea was similar to how it was depicted in animations, but every inch of its flesh and every droplet of water on its body felt palpably real, leaving no room for doubt about its authenticity. The horror of this reality penetrated deep into the viewers' minds, surpassing the limits of any scientific or technological explanation. No one could question its authenticity after just one glance.

Kaida, the self-righteous mercenary aboard the vessel, felt his pupils dilate, sweat pouring down his face as panic set in, resulting in a loss of control over his bodily functions.

Standing before him was the King of the Near Sea. Ren, who had prepared himself for this moment, felt his heartbeat spike, though he stood frozen, caught in the awe of the situation.

"Is this really the King of the Sea that Luffy punched away? How powerful must Luffy be?" he wondered, grappling with the implications of the creature before him.

Crash!

A deafening bang reverberated across the water's surface as the King of the Near Sea swung its tail, its colossal mouth lunging toward Ren.

"Anchor is in danger!" viewers shouted in unison.

"Anchor, be careful!" another warned.

"Run, anchor! Get out of there!" came another panicked plea.

---

However, Ren was unafraid. With a low whisper, his expression hardened, and he leaped from his spot, propelling himself beneath the gigantic figure of the King of the Near Sea.

"Die!" he shouted.

Bang!

With a single shout, the air beneath Ren's feet felt solid, producing a thunderous crack as he took off like an arrow released from a bow, aiming directly for the King of the Near Sea's neck.

Puff!

His fist drove deep into the flesh of the King of the Near Sea. As Ren flipped over, the lower half of the beast's enormous head was obliterated in an instant.

Boom!

Blood cascaded down like a torrential waterfall, drenching the sea's surface in crimson. The King of the Near Sea howled in agony, its massive body thrashing wildly and generating enormous waves. The poor boat Ren had been on was consumed by the chaos, and the unfortunate Kaida was swept away into the turbulent waters.

"You have strong vitality!" Ren's eyes narrowed, his figure blurring in the air as he soared above the King of the Near Sea's head. Ignoring the blood staining his body, he punched down with relentless force.

Bang!

His fist pierced through the skull of the King of the Near Sea, warm blood flooding his body. Yet, Ren remained oblivious to the gruesome scene, gripping the skull tightly and exerting his strength, flipping the beast's enormous body 180 degrees before slamming it down into the sea.

Bang!

The King of the Near Sea crashed onto the water's surface, creating an explosion akin to several bombs detonating simultaneously. The impact split the ocean in two.

Following this attack, the already battered giant of the King of the Near Sea lay incapacitated, twitching as its nerves unraveled. The creature, once a fearsome legend known for biting off Shanks' arm, was now in a state of lifelessness.

Suspended above the sea, Ren was drenched in blood, resembling a ferocious warrior. A slight smile crept onto his lips as he remarked to himself, "This kind of battle, where I can unleash my full strength without restraint, is exhilarating."

His gaze shifted to the live broadcast interface, but what he saw was disheartening. The screen was eerily clean, devoid of any audience members.

---

With a mix of disbelief and anticipation, Ren couldn't shake the feeling that he had just delivered an extraordinary performance, one that should have captivated viewers worldwide. He had fought bravely against a creature feared by many, and yet, there was silence. The emptiness of the broadcast room felt like a stark contrast to the adrenaline still coursing through him.
