The bell above the door jingled as Fara stepped into Nindy's cozy café, bundled up in an oversized coat that drowned her petite frame. Her face was pale, and the dark circles under her eyes betrayed the fact that she shouldn't even be out of bed. But when your ex's wedding was looming over your head, staying cooped up at home wasn't an option.
"Are you insane?" Nindy's voice rang out before Fara even had a chance to sit. The café owner was standing behind the counter, arms crossed, with a look that could melt ice.
"What?" Fara muttered, her voice hoarse. She sank into a chair near the counter, regretting every step she took to get here. Her head was pounding.
"You're supposed to be resting! Look at you, Far. You look like a ghost that got kicked out of the afterlife."
"I'm fine," Fara croaked, waving a dismissive hand. "And I'm here for the tea, not the coffee."
