A strange waft of silence filled the back of the camping van as Christine was curled up in her bed, covered with blankets. She had already opened the gift that Luca gave her; she discovered it was a black book. She opens it, "It feels like a diary, but it's a book", whispered Christine in a faint voice. I'd read it then she said.
"Run," the sound of a boy trying to escape. Get him shouted the guards; no one is allowed access to such intel about the guild; it's strictly to be left in the hands of the Initiates. The boy stumbles upon a house and knocks on the door, "Hello, anyone here." Yes, a lady with raven dark hair and sparkly blue eyes "Always here to help," she quickly dragged the boy in and took him upstairs. Look for a place to hide. If the guards pass by, I will signal you to come out. "Thanks," he said, and the lady came downstairs to have tea: scones, finger sandwiches, mini cakes, and, of course, tea.
The guards barged into her house and asked, "Have you seen any boy dressed formally run across your front yard?" One of the guards asked. The lady sipped some tea, dropped the cup, and looked up at the guards. She then asked, "Do you know who I am?"
One of the guards, after getting a glimpse of her face with her hair out of the way, tries to give a warning to the other guards about who the lady is, but they don't seem to get it. It is the young mistress of Ornyx.
She smirks, changing the atmosphere. She starts to speak, "I will give you approximately two minutes to contact your supervisors and tell them that you are joining them for any other mission." One of the men excused himself for a brief moment outside. When he left, one of the guards asked, "Why do we have to do that anyway?"
The mistress suddenly replied because of this. She walks towards them, and one by one she slashes them down with a sharp sword, not even giving them time to react. The man who went outside came back and found his survivors on the ground already dead from severe blood loss. "Wanna join them?" asked the mistress as she was already back in her seat.
Out of rage, he rushes towards the young mistress with a sword with sapphire blue flames instead of a blade. Before he could get closer, he was gunned down with only one shot through the heart, and he fell to the ground, dying instantly.
Well, that was rough, said the boy from earlier, coming to sit beside the young mistress; he then said, "You're such a brutal fellow." Oh, shut up; you did not even wait for my signal what if you get killed said the young mistress. I don't plan on said the boy. When will you change out of that form, you're killing me Norman. Oh Kasside, are you implying that I am cute like this? He looks up at her and comes closer. She shifted backward to the edge of the chair; it was a one-armed couch.
Kassidee realises she couldn't move backward again; if not, she'd fall on and land on the tea table. Norman keeps coming, he then reaches out his hand to grab a scone. As his face passes Kassidee by, he says, "What are you thinking about Kass?" I am going to the oak tree at the back of the house. Bye, he said as he bit into his scones and continued eating.
Kassidee walked out with a tray of pastries and tea so she and Norman could eat together under the oak tree. Hello, she said in a casual tone. Norman hears the voice and turns his head from his book to look at Kassidee who is approaching him from a near distance; It was little Kassidee. Cool, you changed your form said Norman, she dropped the tray and sat on the grass. Yeah, what about it said Kassidee. I wish we could stay like this forever and then grow out of this form normally instead of switching from adult to child, it's so confusing. I know right said Kassidee as she poured some tea into two teacups she took one and left the other for Norman.
Norman do you like the little me asked Kassidee. "What if I do" said Norman with a smile. Anyway stop joking around we can't let our guard down now, The Initiates are going to be on our trail now. What of those bodies back at the house said Norman. I asked some friends to help with the cleaning, "more like force" said Norman. Eeeh, She said. She stared at him for a bit observing his face, "you cut your hair didn't you, it looks shorter now said Kassidee.
The meadow below this hill is pretty said Norman, you must have kept it really well said Norman; the oak tree is located on a hill with a view of a wide meadow if you sit in front of the tree. Kassidee looks at the meadow and agrees with Norman. Let's play a game said Kassidee, I don't want to play replied Norman. Kassidee walks towards Norman and starts to tickle him, No stop it, he says laughing and trying to keep Kassidee's hands away from him in the struggle they both row down from the hill into the meadow.
Norman and Kassidee held hands and twirled in circles playing ring-a-ring o' roses falling over and over again and standing up to join their hands together again. Their happy laughter fills the atmosphere and smiles all over their faces.
As the sunset approached, casting long shadows across the meadow, a pang of sadness tugged at Norman's heart. He knew that soon, he would have to leave this happy place, the carefree existence and he would also be tearing Kassidee's world along with it. The realization filled him with a bittersweet melancholy; sadness. He glanced at Kassidee, her laughter as pure as an angel's tear, innocent and refreshing. Oh, Kassidee he thought he picked up a daisy and walked towards her with a sad smile trying to push his negative thoughts and trying not to change the happy atmosphere.Kassidee, sensing his shift in mood, turned to him, her eyes filled with concern. "What's wrong, Ben?" she asked, her voice soft and gentle. As her eyes sparkle with happiness and concern; she feels like a whole different personality.Norman hesitated to speak unable to tell Kassidee what he thought. He finally managed another weak smile, "It's nothing, Kass. Just thinking about... other things." Kassidee felt like Norman was still troubled but she couldn't do anything about it so she just cooled down and assured herself that everything was okay.Norman places the daisy in Kassidee's hair and says "It looks beautiful" Thanks replied Kassidee he simply nods. Let's watch the sunset he said, Alright said Kassidee in a happy voice. And they both lie down side by side holding their and watching the sky.
