Medar's Path to Sky Hunter School
Medar stood at the towering gates of the Sky Hunter School, his heart pounding in his chest. Behind him, the village he had once called home faded into the distance, a mere memory of the life he had left behind. Ahead, the path stretched into the unknown, leading to the school where his future—his destiny—awaited. His phoenix emblem still glowed faintly on his forehead, an ever-present reminder of the path he had chosen.
The school was a grand structure, its walls carved from stone as ancient as the legends that surrounded the Sky Hunters. It was a place of rigorous training, where only the most determined and powerful individuals were allowed to enter. It was where the Sky Hunters honed their skills, where they learned the secrets of Blit—the very energy that connected them to the skies and the creatures that symbolized their power.
As Medar stepped inside, he was greeted by a tall man with silver hair, his eyes sharp and discerning.
"Welcome, Medar," the man said, his voice low and commanding. "I am Master Ardan, your instructor here. I trust you already know that you've been chosen because of your potential. But here, you will learn what it means to wield the emblem and to master Blit."
Medar nodded, his eyes scanning the intricate carvings on the walls. He had heard of Blit before—the mysterious energy that Sky Hunters wielded. But now, he was about to learn the full extent of its power.
The Sky Hunter School – Learning About the Emblems
In the days that followed, Medar was thrown into the rigorous life at the school. Training began before dawn and stretched late into the night. Alongside other new recruits, he learned to harness the power of Blit, the mysterious force that connected them to the skies.
The emblems, it seemed, were not just marks of power—they were symbols of the creatures that each Sky Hunter could summon once they proved themselves worthy. Medar's emblem—the phoenix—was one of the rarest and most revered, representing rebirth, fire, and transformation.
Each Sky Hunter had an emblem that corresponded to an animal—a creature that, once summoned, became a reflection of their strength, their inner power. Medar learned that the true awakening of the emblem didn't happen until a Sky Hunter had proven themselves worthy, and that was done through mastering Blit.
Blit – The Power of Destruction and Creation
Master Ardan was the one to explain the full nature of Blit, and the three main forms it could take.
"Blit is not just an energy," Ardan explained during one of their lessons. "It is a force of destruction and creation, capable of shaping the world around you. But to wield it, you must understand its three aspects. Without mastery of them, your powers will remain unstable."
1. Surface Blit
The first type of Blit was called Surface Blit. This was the most common and was used for offense and defense. Surface Blit could manifest as elemental attacks, like fireballs or lightning strikes, but it could also be used to form shields, create barriers, or even reinforce weapons. Medar learned to channel his Blit into a glowing shield, its edges crackling with fiery energy. He could also form fireballs, hurling them across the training field to strike targets.
2. Internal Blit
The second form was Internal Blit, which was used to enhance the user's own body. Internal Blit could strengthen your skin, making it as tough as metal, or increase the durability of your bones and muscles. Medar practiced using this form of Blit on his own body, feeling the power course through him as his physical endurance grew exponentially. His skin hardened under the intense pressure, and his reflexes sharpened. His body became an extension of the power that surged within him.
3. External Blit
The third form, External Blit, was the most complex and dangerous. It allowed the user to manipulate the world around them, transforming it into the elements their emblem represented or even using Blit in the environment to control objects with telekinetic force. The most advanced users could even infuse their Blit into the minds of others, controlling their thoughts and actions.
Medar began practicing with the external form, slowly mastering the art of manipulating objects around him. At first, it was difficult—he could barely control a rock from the ground. But as days passed, he began to feel the connection between his own energy and the environment. He focused on the wind, his emblem's elemental force. Soon, he could lift and manipulate small stones, guiding them through the air as if they were extensions of his own limbs.
The true test, however, was the Summoning. This was where the animals represented by the emblems came into play.
The Phoenix Awakens
One evening, as the sun began to dip below the horizon, Master Ardan gathered all the new recruits in the courtyard.
"Tonight," he announced, "we will begin the process of summoning. Each of you has the potential to awaken the creature tied to your emblem, but remember—this is not an easy task. You must prove yourself worthy."
Medar's heart beat faster in his chest. He had trained hard for this moment, but he knew that even with all his efforts, the power of the phoenix might not awaken until he had shown true mastery of Blit.
Ardan stepped forward, raising his hand toward the sky. "To awaken your animal, you must concentrate all your Blit into your emblem. Focus your energy, and release it. If you are worthy, your animal will appear."
Medar closed his eyes, feeling the surge of Blit within him. He focused on the phoenix, the fiery bird that symbolized his power. He gathered the energy inside, feeling it intensify as he pushed it toward his forehead.
For a moment, nothing happened. Medar's breath hitched, and doubt began to creep in. Was he truly worthy?
And then, it happened.
The phoenix emblem on his forehead flared to life. Flames erupted from the symbol, swirling around him, creating a vortex of fire. He raised his arms, and with a final push of energy, he released the Blit.
A massive shape appeared before him, a brilliant phoenix with wings of fire and eyes burning with ancient knowledge. It hovered in the air, gazing down at Medar with an intensity that matched his own.
The moment was electric. The school grounds seemed to shake as the phoenix let out a piercing cry. Medar's heart swelled with power, and he knew in that instant that he had truly awakened his emblem.
The Path Forward
As the days passed, Medar continued his training at the Sky Hunter School. With his phoenix now awakened, he could call upon it at will, using Blit to enhance his abilities, protect himself, and summon fire. But there was much more to learn.
He trained relentlessly, refining his mastery of all three types of Blit: using Surface Blit for offensive and defensive tactics, Internal Blit to enhance his strength and endurance, and External Blit to manipulate the world around him. With every lesson, his bond with his emblem and the phoenix grew stronger.
Medar knew that this was just the beginning. The Sky Hunter School was only the first step in his journey. There were still many trials to face, and his path would take him far beyond the walls of the school. But one thing was clear—he was ready.
