Hagrid, of course, heard Harry's earlier reiteration and hastily interrupted, "I'm just an ordinary half-blood giant, don't torture me intellectually! O my Merlin! How could I possibly know about such questions! I could have sworn! The Academy definitely didn't teach the answers to these questions!"
In the bustling streets of Diagon Alley, the two little ones had just finished eating the ice cream in their hands. Seeing this, Hagrid was busy pulling out a large, stained handkerchief and making a show of wiping them off.
Harry was the first to react, dodging out of the way and shouting, "Hagrid, are you sure it's really clean? I feel like it's almost like that tablecloth at my aunt's house!"
Hagrid heard this and a slightly embarrassed look appeared on his face, waving his big hands anxiously as he explained, "I'm sure I absolutely cleaned it yesterday morning! I swear!"
Hagrid pointed to the Reach Bookstore next door to Mrs. Mockingbird's Robe Shop and continued, "We're going to buy books there next, and if you guys have even the slightest trace of ice cream on your mouths or hands, I think the Reach manager is going to be furious and throw us out with it!"
"Harry, I can help you clean it, but I'm not really sure, I'm just asking, do you want to try?" Michael said to Harry with a hint of uncertainty in his tone.
Harry looked at Hagrid's big dirty handkerchief and thought back to the impression Michael had given himself in the past half day, and finally chose to believe Michael.
However, Harry still had some worries in his mind, after all, they were in Diagon Alley, which was full of mysterious magical power, and any spell cast could trigger unexpected consequences.
He said softly to Michael, "Michael, there are so many people here, are you sure it won't be a problem to cast a spell here? I'm a little worried about how it might affect other people."
Michael also frowned slightly as he listened to Harry's concerns, and he began to think seriously about the issue.
He was well aware of the serious consequences that could result if the power of magic got out of control, yet he also didn't want to disappoint Harry, much less show his cowardice in front of this newfound friend.
He took a deep breath, tried to calm himself down, and then carefully observed his surroundings.
Diagon Alley was still bustling with people coming and going at this time.
Michael noticed that they were located relatively close to the edge of the street, next to a narrow drainage canal.
A thought crossed his mind that perhaps the effects of the magic could be contained within this relatively small area.
He turned to Harry and said, "Harry, don't worry, I'll try to control it carefully. I think if we get close to this drain, we can also minimize any possible surprises."
Harry was still a little uneasy, but he saw how serious Michael was and decided to trust him.
So the two of them walked quietly together to the drain.
Michael repeatedly recalled in his mind the spell that he had firmly memorized in his previous life, concentrating on constructing an animated picture of the water and imagining, the water flowing out smoothly according to his wishes.
His eyes were focused and determined, as if he was performing an important magical ritual.
However, after Michael whispered "aguamenti", things went beyond his expectations.
Instead of the imagined thin stream, and the worst-case scenario of a column of water, there was a surging flood that roared down from the heights of the alley without warning! That came with such ferocity that it seemed as if it was going to engulf the entire alley.
As that ferocious flood swept down, Michael's eyes widened in disbelief. His body involuntarily took a few steps backward, his hands still holding the spell casting position, his mind blank, completely at a loss as to how to respond to the sudden disaster.
Hagrid's quick eyes and hands hurriedly picked up the two little ones violently with one hand, he tensed his broad arms, his expression tense and firm, preventing the two little ones from being washed away by the water.
The pedestrians on the road were instantly in chaos, screaming. They panicked and ducked into the stores at the high steps on either side of the alley, and for a while there was chaos and confusion.
The weaker wizards hurriedly hid inside the stores like birds of prey, while those powerful wizards stood on the high steps in front of the stores, facing the surging tide directly, their expressions grave and serious.
Someone in the crowd shouted at the top of his voice: "Form a circle together! Stick your wands straight into the ground! Or else the entire Diagon Alley will be completely washed away!"
"All spells end (finite)!" With this shout, the raging and rushing downstream water of the river was like a bound and raging dragon, and under the power of the magic, it disappeared inch by inch until there was no trace of it at all.
Without warning, a figure flashed to Hagrid's side with the magic spell "Phantom Manifestation".
The figure was a stocky man with short, stiff gray hair, dressed in a black robe and shirt with a neat tie, black leather boots, and a black raven feather insignia on his robe.
"John, what are you doing here too!" Seeing the visitor, Hagrid excitedly put down the two little ones, and with open arms was ready to go forward to give the visitor a warm and incomparable hug.
Aurora, John Delis, however, took a step back to avoid Hagrid's hug as if he were avoiding the plague, and that cold face seemed to have frost on it.
His eyes scanned the whole chaotic scene sharply, and he saw the two little ones that Hagrid was carrying tightly in his hands, carefully assessing the damage to the street.
Immediately after that, he walked quickly to Hagrid's side, crouched down without hesitation, and gently but swiftly checked Harry and Michael's physical condition, and when he confirmed that they were not injured, he slowly stood up and faced Hagrid seriously.
Then he said coldly, "Hagrid, I think you should be well aware that when they dismissed you, they broke your staff and expressly forbade you to use magic. This thing you did today is enough to send you to Azkaban for good!"
Knowing that this was a situation caused by his own fault, Michael hurriedly took three steps to Delis' side, looking anxious and full of guilt as he explained.
"Sir, I'm really sorry, this has nothing to do with Hagrid. It was that we had just finished eating ice cream and were going into the bookstore to buy books, and in my eagerness to perform, I wanted to cast magic to clean the soiled clothes, but I didn't realize that it would cause such an accident. For this I am deeply remorseful and willing to accept any punishment." Michael hung his head low, his voice trembling slightly.
After listening to Michael's explanation, Driss swept his gaze over the school uniforms that he and Harry were carrying in their hands, which they had just purchased from Mrs. Moggin's Robe Shop, and his face eased only slightly, and his brows were no longer furrowed tightly.
Every year there were always underage wizards who had no intention of getting into trouble, and this time it had been caused by an underage wizard.
Although the matter appeared to be alarming and dangerous, fortunately it did not result in substantial and serious consequences. According to the Ministry of Magic's regular way of dealing with the matter, most of the time it was nothing more than giving a warning and education.
"Hagrid, I know it's not your fault, but as a temporary guardian, it's your responsibility to warn minor young wizards not to cast spells at will, and you should remember the words on the Ministry of Magic's insignia, 'ignorance of the law does not exempt you from responsibility' (ignorantia juris non excusat), and I hope it doesn't happen again." Drish stared at Hagrid with a serious gaze that seemed to penetrate one's soul.
He then turned to Michael with a serious admonishment, "This time, since you are not yet enrolled in school and have not caused any serious consequences, for the sake of Hogwarts and Hagrid, I will let you off the hook for now, and I hope that the next time I run into you is not on the way to send you to Azkaban."
Michael hastened to assure him, "Yes sir, thank you for your consideration, I apologize profusely for my behavior and thank you for your indulgence."
Driss stared at Michael for a few seconds, then with a wave of his sleeve, he was about to use his Phantom Shift to leave when Hagrid called out to him.
"John!" Hagrid said in a loud voice, "I'll buy you a drink next time I'm at the Hog's Head, thanks for this one!"
"Alright then, see you later!"
Driss then disappeared in a flash, leaving only a gentle breeze behind.
Seeing Auror leave, Harry eagerly inquired, "Oh my god! Michael, how on earth did you do that? That was so horrible! It almost completely destroyed this place!" There was a tremor in his voice, and his little face was white with fear.
