After the memories ended, he took a few minutes to calm down and accept them.
And the next instant his eyes turned to the figure of the still dazed-or-drugged girl opposite him.
Xian moved swiftly and delivered a chop to the back of her neck, making her faint.
In one swift motion, he caught her before her body could even sway, and placed her on the bed, covering her until her nose couldn't be seen.
'This is for the best,' he hummed to himself, feeling a little worse for using such a method.
However, he had no other choice.
She had just turned 18 and didn't yet have her first beast, or else, she would've long been saved.
"Alas, you trusted a scumbag," Xian sighed, feeling a bit incredulous.
The girl lying in bed was his blood sister and coincidentally the one who was supposed to make for a scandal with him, or his current fake identity.
It was ridiculous to the point of being insane.
But such was the norm.
In his own words, Xian had no idea about the source of this unseemly information but their matching facial features added a bit of truth to the matter.
"I'd only there was DNA testing developed in this world," Xian murmured, lamenting the lack of technological advancement.
Though there were beasts and monsters as big as skyscrappers, there weren't much of technological refinement.
It could be said to be in the early 21st century back on Earth.
Yes, Xian was a transmigrator, who found himself in the body of the substitute or extra whose role was only death.
His talents—extracted and transferred to the one who stole his identity, his current siblings.
However—now he knew of such things!
'I can't let it happen!' He vowed to himself.
Though he wasn't sure of those strange memories from his so-called past life, he didn't want to take any risks.
Given that the few things about his current self were quite accurate.
He was just a poor cannon fodder that the protagonist will get revenge for after discovering his pitiful death.
Who was the protagonist?
Honestly, Xian has no iota of a clue.
He just knew that the protagonist discovered it because of their sister being engaged to a boy she found creepy.
Guess who?
It was the one who took Xian's place in his real family.
Thankfully, this world wasn't feudal and the engagement only took place in 3 years after they graduated early from the Imperial Beast Taming Academy.
"Won't she be going there this year?" Xian wondered aloud, looking at the figure on the bed.
According to the plot, she failed due to absence, but he could change that.
The only problem was her first beast… he didn't know how to deal with that or if he could even do that.
But he was sure of one thing—his escape from this brothel.
Deep in the basement was a Crane that was sealed, and Xian just had to free it.
An easy task.
'How do I go there?' He asked himself in doubt.
The moment he got out, things will spiral out of his control in a bad way.
Simply put, the ones wanting the scandal to explode were his current family, so they wanted to catch them in the complete act, without any chances.
He would forever be suppressed if he had to take responsibility for this scandal, much worse, a brothel women.
Now, he didn't look down on anyone, but the world sure did!
And that was sister who was sold by her scumbag lover—something she'll probably not accept even if beaten to it.
So, all in all, Xian had no other choice but to take the risk.
Back to the path to basement, Xian was busy searching the room for any clues or clothes to maybe disguise himself.

That was when his hands pressed on some mechanism, which got triggered, producing some pretty loud sounds.
Only after 5 seconds did the sound fade away, giving way to a beautiful staircase.
A descending staircase!
Although it seemed to be too perfect a coincidence, Xian was helpless.
'I hope it' goes well,' he prayed before stepping into the dark stairway.
Every step was slow, deliberate and cautious.
He couldn't risk falling down the staircase despite the dimmest of illumination.
That would mean causing a commotion and revealing his location—both things he desperately wanted to avoid.
With every passing second, his nerves tensed, his muscles tightened, his eyes constricted and his mouth went dry.
Only after descending several flight of stairs did some light enter his vision.
Yet he didn't celebrate, rather choosing to hide himself from the lights and any possibility of guards.
Despite his clumsy movements, it was enough to hide his tracks from the lax guards.
They wouldn't expect someone to enter from the hidden passage which was almost never used.
'There's no one around?' Xian doubted life for a second as all his actions seemed unnecessary.
'Nevermind,' he told himself, quickly shaking the thought off his mind before making his way through.
In the deeper parts of the basement, the light was dimming as if afraid to showcase something.
Being unaware of the metallic and nauseating stench, Xian had no idea what all horrifying sights he didn't have to witness.
They were enough to send chills down one's spine at a mere cursory glance.
From rotting flesh and blood to fresh blood and singing flesh—everything one could find uncomfortable was present in this basement.
Yet the most horrifying of it all was a bloody crane which had all its limbs constricted by some strange metallic conceptions.
Its neck, limbs, body, beak—everything was held in place, not allowing the slightest of movements.
'Can it even move without them?'
The question erupted in Xian's mind and just as he thought the answer was 'No', something strange happened.
-Crackle
The sound of those metallic conceptions and chains attached to it were pulled against and it looked as if they would break in the next second.
But… nothing like that happened.
Instead, an annoyed voice came.
"Damn this beast! Why do we have to look at it while others enjoy the soft flesh?"
