Above the high-rise building floor of 78, a man held in his left hand a girl aged between 10 and 12 years. In his right hand, he was holding a pistol pointed to the forehead of the girl.
Before them stood the police, and dozens of men and women who held glass shields and guns were pointed at the man holding the girl as hostage.
The head of the police force took his gun, pointed it at the man, and said,.
"I know the government has wronged you, and I even feel sympathy for you. But as a police officer of this nation, it is my duty to protect people from harm. Drop the weapon and come back. I will personally hire a lawyer for you so that you get less punishment and get justice."
"Hahaha. and now you'll give me justice? Don't you know that the law is blind?" the man said, looking to the edge as if he might jump at any time, all of it a joke to him.
"Don't be a fool. While I'm here you cannot. finish things your own way," the captain continued, staring at the man, speaking in a voice that was flat as the sea. "This is not how to punish them. You can step back from this, with her alive and your tale told."
He gripped the girl tighter; his eyes flicked between the officers and the open air behind him. He sneered, half in defiance, half in frustration. "Safe? My life's been a free fall ever since they took everything from me. Now, they'll finally pay attention. They'll finally know what they've done."
A low murmur ran through police ranks, tense, waiting. The girl whimpered, her face pale, her wide eyes fixed on the captain.
"You don't have to do this," the captain said, taking a careful step forward, his voice calm but firm. "I know you're angry, and you have every right to be. But hurting her won't change what they did to you. It'll only make you one of them."
There was a momentary silence. The man hesitated; his hand wavered. But then, as if shaking off doubt, he laughed bitterly and looked at the captain with a hard, stubborn look. Without warning, he stepped back, pulling the girl toward the edge.
Before the woman could completely slip over the ledge, the captain's eyes opened wide, and he lunged forward as his arm shot out to catch the girl's wrist. Her scream rang through the air, and for a second, time was suspended on the rooftop.
He clung to her other arm, hanging perilously, but he could not take his eyes from the captain. They shone there with a fantastic sense of triumph. The captain could feel the strain along his arm and knew that he was not anchored upon the edge by much more than himself; yet it was enough weight to pull him down.
Behind him, the officers move forward, shouting, ready to assist but too late. The captain breathes deeply, his grip tightening on the girl's wrist as he pulls her toward him.
"Do you really think this makes it any different?" the man says with a sneer, rawness in his voice. "Do you think saving her is going to make up for what they did to me?"
The captain looked him in the eye, his face unyielding. "Perhaps not. But she didn't deserve to pay for it. Neither do you."
With a final spurt of strength, he hauled the girl up, swinging her toward his team. "Catch her!" he yelled, his voice a little rough.
The officers reacted almost too fast, pulling the girl back. Now the captain was hanging over his side, a man clutching his leg and tugging him down.
The two of them fixed their gazes on each other, one that would probably freeze forever, as the city spread out a good mile beneath. The captain's breathing was laboured, muscles burning, but he held his gaze without flinching.
You still have a choice," the captain gasped. "Let go of this. and take a chance for real justice."
The man's face softened, the fight slowly seeping from his eyes, as if finally those words had struck home. He looked at the captain, his expression one of sadness and resignation, and let his grip loosen.
"At least," he murmured, almost too low to be heard, "someone finally listened.".
"But I will still take your life; I want you to pay for them." With all his might, he dragged the captain by the hand and they fell at the same time from the building.
The captain now has about 8-11 seconds knowing that he has done everything he needed to and it is time to remember everything about his life, what he had done and enjoyed.
After his fall, he placed a hand across his earphones and pronounced to the world, "Mission Accomplished!"
Then closed his eyes for good awaiting his death.
Bang.
The two loud deafening noises were produced as both the bodies splattered down onto the ground, getting totally crushed by the crushing of gravity.
Even the head of his captain was crushed like that of a thick slice of butter as red blood came out dripping.
Unknown Ancient Void Universe
In the Azure Mystic World, which can be considered one of the closest planes with its dao and rules.
In the Azure Mystic World, there are 18 supreme powers—11 supreme groups made by humans and five beast races that have abilities equal to human sects and families. And then, there are two evil groups, which are extremely strong.
In the human world, of course, there are six major ancient supreme families and five supreme sects. Four of the major families are located in the Azure Mystic World's east, west, north, and south domains. There are two strong ones in the central domain, where the remaining supreme sects are also divided into the five domains of the Azure Mystic World.
Many of the Evil Powers and Beast races are either hiding out or staying in the void beside the Azure Mystic World.
The six families are Chen, Lin, Yu, Xing, Shen, Gu, and Wang of the Azure Mystic World. The highest supreme sects include: Ancient Swords Sect in the Eastern Region, Heavenly Ice-Snow Sect in the north, Extreme Dao Sect in the west, Sun-Moon Sect in the south, and the strongest Heavenly Dao Sect in the Central Domain.
If there is a ranking among the families, they are Yu, Gu, Shen, Lin, Xing, Chen, and Wang. Between the sects, they are Heavenly Dao Sect, Heavenly Ice-Snow Sect, Ancient Swords Sect, Extreme Dao Sect, and Sun-Moon Sect.
But even at the lowest level, even the first force is nothing compared to them.
Eastern Domain.
Shen Family.
Inside a bedroom, there were two maids taking care of the beautiful woman lying in the bed, belly fully grown, as if she were ready to deliver at any moment. However, her belly was a little bigger than that of an expectant mother, as if she were delivering twins.
Nobody knew how long it had been, but the final day of delivery finally arrived.
Inside the woman's boudoir, the maids were attending to help deliver the babies.
"Madam, push harder, just a little more," one of the head maids encouraged her.
A few minutes later.
Ahh. screaming in pain, the woman finally pushed, and two newborn babies came into the world.
"Congratulations, madam, you have twins," the maid congratulated her.
Haha. although she knew, with her spiritual power, that she carried twins, she didn't know how long she had been waiting for this.
Outside the room.
There were some men lingering outside the gate with worried faces. With the mere appearance of a maid, their faces stiffened.
"How is Liu'er?" someone in blue asked, looking up at the maid.
"Elders, madam is all right, and given birth to twins," replied the maid.
"Ah. Liu'er is fine.!" heaved a sigh of relief after the maid spoke to him. The man was the husband of the woman who was giving birth recently to his children.
"I will go see her. Wait here, Father," he said to the middle-aged man in front of him and then entered the room without looking back.
Inside the room.
"Liu'er, okay?" he said, looking at the woman lying on the bed with the two babies lying beside her.
"Husband I'm fine!" she said happily gazing at their children.
He nodded in satisfaction.
"Shen Fan, may we come in?"
Just as they were speaking, a voice came from outside the gate.
Is that the patriarch? He looked at his wife, who nodded and said, Please come inside!
Soon, four men and two middle-aged women entered the bedroom.
These six people were the patriarch of the Shen Clan, his father, his mother, another elder, his wife, and Liu'er's brother.
