"Where is he?" Hiroki shouted to his younger brother.
"I don't know!" Kira replied, equally panicked. "He just vanished!"
"How can a man weighing over two hundred kilos disappear without a trace, huh?" Hiroki barked.
He stepped away from Kira, quickly assessing the situation. Averkane was nowhere to be seen, and Hiroki couldn't sense his presence nearby. His mind raced, piecing together the facts with astonishing speed. His wide-open eyes made him appear like a madman aware of his own insanity.
Suddenly, he realized the truth. "Above us!" he shouted.
He craned his neck upward and leaped with the speed and ferocity of a hungry predator.
Averkane's attack, for the first time, narrowly failed.
Hiroki managed to grab his waist just before he could crush Kira's head, who stood motionless, oblivious to what had nearly happened.
