"Nothing strange happened?"

"Think harder!"

Hearing Tianheng's question, the senior members of the guild furrowed their brows, deep in thought.

After a brief silence, one of the senior players suddenly spoke up as if a memory had clicked into place.

"There is! Actually, there was something!"

Tianheng nodded slightly, signaling him to continue.

"Here's the thing. We have a player named Pengpeng who I sent out to scout the forest terrain a while back."

"There was nothing unusual during the inspection, but as they were leaving the forest, they saw a wolf."

"Now, everyone here knows there aren't any wolves in our vicinity. We've explored that forest multiple times, and not once have we come across one."

"Pengpeng thought it was odd and decided to tame the wolf."

"The strange part is, even after taming it, there was no collar on its neck."

"Normally, when a successful taming occurs, a collar should appear."

"Pengpeng found it odd too, but the wolf followed commands — sit, stand, attack — it obeyed everything."

"Thinking it was just a bug, Pengpeng brought it back without much thought."

Since the guild had never had a wolf before, Pengpeng bringing one back did raise some eyebrows.

Adding to that, the lack of a collar made the incident a bit memorable to this senior player.

Upon hearing this, Tianheng immediately became alert.

He recalled Steve's livestream of the guild battle at the Triumph Guild. Tianheng had watched the entire thing.

HIM could control wolves.

Now, their guild had somehow tamed a "bugged" wolf.

The coincidence was too glaring.

Realizing this, Tianheng issued a sharp order.

"Bring Pengpeng here!"

"And be sure to keep away from that wolf!"

...

Not long after, Pengpeng was escorted in.

Noticing the tense atmosphere in the room, Pengpeng assumed he'd gotten himself in trouble. He hung his head low, barely daring to breathe.

Tianheng chuckled lightly, trying to ease the mood.

"No need to be nervous."

"We called you here because we heard you recently tamed a wolf."

"There aren't any wolves near the guild, so it's a rare find. Consider it a contribution to the guild."

"I've also heard it's quite special?"

Hearing this, Pengpeng finally relaxed a little.

With Tianheng's questions, Pengpeng spoke freely about the wolf pup.

"Yeah! Little Bug ate over thirty bones before it let itself be tamed."

"It's different from other wolves. No collar appeared, so everyone joked it was a bug. That's why I named it Little Bug."

"It's really smart too! It even plays fetch with a frisbee!"

"Once, I even..."

Seeing Pengpeng ramble on without getting to the point, Tianheng interrupted, slightly exasperated.

"Does this wolf have any other unique traits?"

Pengpeng paused, thought for a moment, and nodded.

"Well... now that you mention it, there are a few things."

"When we get too far apart, it can't teleport to me like tamed animals normally do. They said it might be due to the collar bug."

"Also, it's very playful and likes to sneak out on its own. A few times, I couldn't find it for a long time, but it always came back. Maybe it's still getting used to having a home after being wild for so long…"

"Another thing is, it seems terrified of monsters. When I tried to make it fight, it would hide behind me…"

After listening to Pengpeng's description, Tianheng felt his suspicions solidify.

"The problem must be with that wolf…"

At this point, it was clear that this mysterious wolf wasn't ordinary.

With a serious expression, Tianheng dismissed Pengpeng.

"Alright, that's all. You can go now."

Once Pengpeng was gone, Tianheng exchanged meaningful glances with the other senior members.

They immediately understood his intentions.

"Assign someone to keep a close watch on that wolf. Report any suspicious movements to me at once."

———

Anyone with a discerning eye could tell there was something off about that wolf from Pengpeng's story.

Yet, Pengpeng remained blissfully ignorant, thinking the wolf was simply unique.

Perhaps it was because this was the first wolf he'd ever tamed, and its behavior differed from typical tamed animals.

His fondness for the wolf blinded him to any potential danger.

After issuing his orders, Tianheng saw to it that experienced guild members were assigned to monitor Little Bug.

Tianheng even fed fake information to the wolf about a monster-clearing mission in the forest for the next morning.

He was baiting it, plain and simple.

---

Night slowly fell.

The players of the Eternal Guild began their usual routine, taking shifts at the footwork station.

Originally, Pengpeng was assigned a daytime shift, but another player suddenly had an emergency.

Though reluctant, Pengpeng agreed to cover the night shift.

"Be good and stay home, okay? I'll bring you a spicy snack when I get back!"

After some affectionate words with Little Bug, Pengpeng left for his shift.

Not long after he was gone, Little Bug sneakily slipped out.

The wolf glanced around, ensuring no one was watching, then made its way to the guild entrance.

Skillfully avoiding patrols, it crept along the walls.

Its practiced movements suggested it had done this many times before.

Maybe it was because it had gotten away with sneaking out so often that its guard was lowered.

Focused on dodging obstacles ahead, it didn't notice the group quietly trailing it.

"Damn! This wolf really is suspicious!"

"The way it sneaks around, it's clearly done this before!"

"Trust is fragile. Who'd have thought the spy would be a wolf?!"

"Shh... Keep it down. Let's see what it's up to."

...

The players of the Eternal Guild had received strict orders to monitor Little Bug.

At first, they thought Tianheng was being overly paranoid.

But now, it was clear something was truly off about the wolf.

The players crept along, trailing Little Bug's every move with the utmost caution, afraid to alert it.

Though a few monsters attacked along the way, the seasoned players dealt with them quickly, keeping their presence concealed from the wolf.

After about half an hour, they followed Little Bug to the forest.

As it entered the woods, the players moved closer.

Little Bug paused after a short distance.

The guild members immediately hid behind nearby trees.

The wolf glanced back, checking for followers.

Satisfied it was alone, it lifted its head and howled.

"Awooo…"

"Awooo…"

"Awooo…"

The howls were rhythmic, like a secret code.

The sound echoed through the forest.

Moments later, from the depths of the forest, a zombie clad in a diamond set emerged.

It carefully inspected Little Bug, confirming it was unharmed, before patting its head.

"Roar…"

Little Bug wagged its tail furiously, licking the zombie's face.

The guild members were stunned.

"What?!"

"Am I seeing things, or is that zombie wearing diamond armor?!"

"Holy... Isn't that HIM's black-suited zombie lieutenant?!"

"Damn! Did HIM send it?!"

"Look at how it interacts with the wolf… It's like they can think for themselves!"

"This is wild. I never thought I'd see a zombie petting a wolf…"

...

The diamond armor on the zombie was unmistakable — only HIM's followers were known to possess it.

And 007, as it was known, had a unique appearance, making it easily recognizable.

Little Bug played with 007 for a while before regaining its composure.

It hadn't forgotten its mission.

"Awooo… Awoo awooo!!"

Little Bug barked at 007, seemingly delivering a message.

After listening, 007 fell into deep thought, its brow furrowing.

"Roar…"

After a long pause, it seemed to have come up with a plan and responded to Little Bug.
