Throughout Kim Eun-Seong's life he has been expected to marry well and produce heirs for his family's company to inherit.
That is how he got stuck with his current boyfriend of three years, Nicholas Mayer, a foreign exchange student from Germany. Nicholas, a pale skinned, blue eyed and blonde haired alpha, the general appearance of a European foreigner. He is the son of the biggest nuclear power plant owner in the world. His entire being to his parents' joy.
"Babe," He starts with his rough German accent, he pouts. "When are we finally going to tie the knot?"
"Maybe later." Eun-Seong says dismissively, shooing Nicholas away. "I don't feel up to it."
And it isn't like Eun-Seong doesn't love him, Nicholas is a decent partner and the sex is good albeit on anti-pregnancy pills of course. He's just… not ready for that kind of devotion.
Eun-Seong has never spent a day with Nicholas while on his heat. Rather choosing a hotel room in one of his family's many resorts or holing himself up and keeping away from him. But after it, becoming cuddly, sitting right on his lap for cuddles and kisses.
The lights are off in the room as he digs through his heat supply bag checking for his meds. He comes to a standstill when he realizes he is out of his month's supply.
'Sh!t! Heat suppressants are out. I should get more. But seeing as my parents are trying so hard to stick me to Nic, I will have to get them in secret.' Eun-Seong thinks. As he looks at the label.
Getting pregnant will seal the deal that the Mayer family has with the Kims.
Any infidelity before the relationship is sealed, however, will render the arrangement void, and Eun-Seong doesn't want that either.
The lights turn on and Eun-Seong quickly stuffs his hand into his bag.
"What are you doing in the dark?" Nicholas asks.
"Oh, nothing." Eun-Seong says zipping up his bag with an effortless speed as he places a big fat smile on his pretty face and flutters his long straight eyelashes at Nicholas who stares in concern.
"Whatever, I bought dinner!" He says excitedly, exiting the room.
There were few families in Korea that managed to stay rich after the whole world's hierarchy changed seemingly overnight. Heck the Moon family even owned outer space and all travel because they invented teleportation which they control what is teleporting and where.
This apartment was a gift for Eun-Seong when he turned nineteen and as a place to stay with his mate, who he is currently supposed to be in the phase of discussing wedding plans with.
What could possibly keep him waiting if nothing is wrong with his mate?
It all comes down to disconnection.
Even though he wants to be with the alpha he can't force himself to feel ready for moving forward with him. Almost as if something was holding him back.
"Alright, I'm coming." Eun-Seong says hiding his bag.
He sits himself down at the table while Nicholas puts plates on the table and distributes the food on it.
"Um… Thanks." Eun-Seong says staring out of the window. The sky is a brilliant orange and pink and at the very top the sky was turning a deep, dark blue.
"That sunset is beautiful, right?" Nicholas asks, putting a hand to his chin dreamily, looking out to the sky.
"Yeah," Eun-Seong responds turning back to look at Nicholas with a slight smile. "Eat, we have class tomorrow."
When they finish eating they head to their room that they share and get ready for bed.
Just as they finish getting ready, after brushing their teeth and changing their clothes, Nicholas comes up behind Eun-Seong with a kiss to his neck which Eun-Seong shows his neck to him.
"You know your heat and my rut are coming soon. Wanna spend it together? We are both in our second to last year of college and all we have to do is plan the date for our wedding." Nicholas says nosing his scent glands.
"Maybe next time." Eun-Seong groans as he climbs into bed.
When Nicholas climbs in he pulls his hand over his waist and lets his thoughts wander.
_______________
The alarm shakes him out of his thoughts.
"Fvck." Eun-Seong mutters as he sits up. The bedside next to him was already empty and he could smell the scent of freshly made pancakes.
He sits up with a sense of urgency at the smell and dashes into the bathroom to wash his face and brush his teeth.
As he did he looked into the mirror getting caught at the sight of his own reflection.
Short wavy black hair and doe-shaped black colored eyes. A bright-skinned, rounded effeminate face and girlish features. Eun-Seong has a very stereotypical Korean omega look. Standing around the height of 167cm or around 5'5.
Breath smelling minty fresh, he steps out into the dining room area and sees chocolate pancakes.
"Y-you remembered?" Eun-Seong says, a slightly guilty undertone in his words for how he responded last night.
"How could I forget, my love." He says with his fake happy voice.
Eun-Seong catches his tone immediately.
"Nicholas." Eun-Seong frowns. "Have you been taking your pills?"
The poor alpha has lived with a condition that makes it hard to feel emotions the way a normal person would.
"I took them this morning." His entire demeanor changed.
Eun-Seong hated when it changed.
He prefers it when Nicholas is happy rather than dark and brooding. It feels unsettling and heavy around him when he is on his meds.
"You know I have to take them or else what happened last time would happen again. We both wouldn't want me to have an explosive outburst." He looks blankly at Eun-Seong.
Eun-Seong stares at him before frowning and sitting down to eat.
Finishing breakfast they head to college in a pure black Bugatti.
The university that Eun-Seong and Nicholas goes to is known for having rich, wealthy students in attendance.
This is where the richest of the rich send their children to go to school. Eun-Seong is currently attending the school for business while Nicholas is studying nuclear engineering and side studying business.
The two part ways as they head to their respective classes. He has a math class in the astronomy building. A starry path on the ground leads the way to the entrance.
As he is walking down the halls a tall curvaceous woman runs into him causing him to go crashing down to the ground.
"What the hell!" Eun-Seong yells. "Watch where you are going!"
"I'm so sorry!" A warm, smooth voice like the purest chocolate. The scent of Jasmine, clary sage and ylang ylang wafts in the air around him. The rich herbal, woodsy, floral scent bringing him to a ethereal world as it sets the stage for a magical encounter warming his omega soul.
If he practiced purring that omegas and alphas could do he would be purring right now.
All that ran through his mind at the moment was a strange familiarity.
It was a coaxing feeling as if someone was telling him to go closer.
He looks up to see where the voice came from.
Now he wasn't straight, but he could absolutely tell when someone is beautiful. She was stunning in her own way. Features not too sharp, but not too soft either. With decently sized mono lid eyes and nice full lips. Her eyes are of a golden sunburst color with a curtain of long curled eyelashes. A stream of thick, waist length, river-like auburn curls, flowing down from her scalp. Her face pointed, in a fae-like heart shape, her ears, even pointier making her look like a elven princess. Wearing a mottled gray tank top peeking from within a beige cardigan, his eyes keep taking her in and he notes a tight black leather corset skirt, and tall black leather boots, topped off with black beret.
'She looks like an dark elve princess pop star… She is very tall.' Eun-Seong thinks lost in her sunny eyes.
"Here let me help you up." She says with a warm smile. Holding a light brown hand out to him, the palm lily white, her long hair falls in front of her face as she leans forward.
The words go through one ear and out the next as he only hears the melody that it makes.
But rather than take her hand, he stares in awe. He wants his daughter, if he ever has one, to look this beautiful.
"Um, don't you have class?" She asks.
"Oh right!" He exclaims taking her hand and letting her pull him up.
Her hands are soft and well-moisturized.
"Sh!t, I have to go." He rights himself quickly and turns around.
She smiles looking at her hand, then folding her arms.
"So that is how you treat an old enemy, Eun-Seong?" She says softly, she then turns and walks away.
"Enemy?" Eun-Seong asks suspiciously, turning around. By the time he did, she was gone.
He runs to his class and sits down readying himself to take notes.
After classes were over he met up with some friends.
Dohyun and Minhyun stand bored by a bike rack, smoking cigarettes.
The two's eyes light up as Eun-Seong walks close to them.
"Baby!" Minhyun playfully calls out.
"Stop~" Whines Eun-Seong with a annoyed smile. "How has your day been?"
"Eh, decent." Dohyun shrugs, passing a cigarette to Eun-Seong while he takes a sip of his alcohol.
Eun-Seong shakes his head no and points instead to the case of beer at Dohyun's feet.
The case is nearly empty and there are only three left.
"Take as much as you need, my King." Dohyun jokes, waving his hand holding the cigarette as he presents the bottles to him.
"So, hear me out." Eun-Seong crouches, grabs a bottle and pops it open, standing to his full height after.
"I don't recall knowing anything about this girl, and yet she called me an old enemy. What the hell." Eun-Seong says rolling his eyes and taking a swig of his alcohol.
"That's strange." His friend, Minhyun says suddenly interested.
Park Dohyun and Park Minhyun, twins, who are both omegas, both just happened to be friends with Eun-Seong since childhood. Their parents were twice the president and first man of Korea when they were younger. Their eyes slits like a pair of twin snakes they have warm toned pale skin and dyed blonde hair Dohyun being different chose to dye his bleached hair red wine red.
"I can't remember and I remember everything." Laughs Dohyun drunkenly.
"What does she look like? She must be very ugly. Like most girls around here," Minhyun says sticking out his tongue. "That is why we need more men in school, easier to look at."
"Bet she is a beta." Dohyun adds with a nod.
"Yeah, she was pretty ugly." Eun-Seong says fidgeting. He can't let his friends know that he thought she was beautiful because then they would be both disgusted in him and call him a woman-liker, when clearly, he is gay.
"But is she a beta?" Minhyun asks.
"Is it that girl who liked you before we presented in grade school what was her name. Ah-Reum I think it was?" Dohyun asks. "That ugly, dark skinned b!tch. Made sure that b!tch didn't come back to school."
"What exactly happened to her?" Eun-Seong asks. 'It might actually be her.' He thinks worriedly.
"Well first we started spreading rumors about her. Obviously she couldn't tell that you were gay so we went to those dumb fujoshis and told them about her. They did the rest. Chased her right out of school to the point she didn't return." Minhyun recounts, laughing loudly.
"So, what your saying is she's back and she dared to talk to you?" Dohyun asks an evil smile spreading on his face.
"We could always fix that." Minhyun says.
Eun-Seong pauses and stares at them.
He had no clue the darkness that lurked within his own friends and that within itself made him feel very faint that they were serious and may even do something worse.
"Listen, I don't know who that is and the name isn't ringing a bell. Don't do anything rash." He orders.
"Ooh, who do you think you are? An alpha? I love your dominant side Eun-Seong-ya." Minhyun teases. He then puts a hand to his chin. "Wonder what that poor b!tch came out as. Probably is an omega family line descendant. What was her last name again?"
"There is no way someone that weak could even be an alpha. And if she is a beta or omega… We'll just have to crush her." Dohyun says with a fist bump to his twin, which Minhyun then answers by fist bumping back.
'It is unlikely that she even is an alpha, female alpha numbers are hitting rock bottom. There were less than four born that actually presented. Plus, this was recorded by last years study of the last ten years.' Eun-Seong thinks.
"Can we just leave her alone? She isn't even worth our breaths." Eun-Seong sighs leaning on the wall.
"Um, no?" Both twins say at the same time. They look at each other with a knowing look as they smile to themselves.
"Look, I honestly don't care. Just leave her alone, she hasn't bothered me in a long time. There is no way I am going to be in the same room as her for anything anyways. Get out of my sight, I want to be alone." Eun-Seong says.
"Ok ok, sheesh…" The twins back off, running across the street.
"Didn't I say back off!" Eun-Seong yells, turning around at the approaching person.
His anger quickly subsides when he smells and then sees that it is only Nicholas.
"It would seem you don't want to see me?" Nicholas asks confused.
"No, not you." Eun-Seong says with a whine, hiding the beer bottle behind his back looking at the twins who were across the street watching carefully.
"Your scent is all muddled. You've been drinking again, haven't you?" Nicholas says blankly.
"Dammit." Eun-Seong mutters.
"But it has been only once today, I promise." Eun-Seong whines.
"I thought I told you not to drink. If we have children together you would want to drink then too. We need an intervention." Nicholas says, dragging Eun-Seong, who was once nursing a bottle of beer, down the street kicking and screaming, well, more like wailing like a dull siren. "We have to get you sober and fast."
He takes a final gulp of his alcohol and then continues to cry out.
The twins then run after what is left over of their beer like rats going after crumbs.
