Freezing fingers and stiffened limbs, talking noises, rustling sounds... "Where am I?" Forcing my eyes open, I saw darkness. Looking around, I tried finding a beam of light, but to my despair, nothing. Suddenly, I flinched, and an odor of rotting meat filled the atmosphere. I tried standing up, yet those feet of mine were as numb as plastics.
Wobbling as I tried to stand, I wondered "What happened?" Finally, with all my might, I managed to walk a few steps before gaining balance. Straightening my arms, I held them out, looking like an undead zombie. After a few steps, I touched a metal-like wall. Fumbling around, I touched something mushy, slimy, and tacky, giving goosebumps all around my veins.
Click... A clicking sound echoed through the room after I flicked up a rusty switch. As the lights lit up one by one consuming the darkness before, I turned around to have a look at what was in the room and maybe find a way out. I stood still and my body stiffened, and a look of terror spread across my face, horrified to find what was in the room this entire time. Human corpses!
My stomach lurched, a nauseating ache settling deep inside as disturbing sights of cold and clammy human corpses pulsing with decay, filled my view. Choking on the bile, I crouched down and wrapped my arms around my legs. Due to staying in that place for who knows how long, I started feeling dizzy and sleepy from the cold temperature. I thought hard about how to escape before my vitals gave up.Â
For a second, I recalled a red button beside the switch. I carefully stood up and walked towards the button. Under the flickering light, my hands trembled, unsure whether pressing it was the best solution. "What if this place blows up after I press it? Or what if the corpses suddenly came to life and ate me? What if... What if..." Unsettling thoughts came rushing in like waves. Comforting myself, I said "Maybe after pressing this button a secret gate might open and I will be freed, it's a 50/50 chance, pressing it might be our last hope". Without hesitation, I smashed it ran to a corner far enough to stay away from any dangers that lurks behind the mysterious button.
