Summary:
King does something silly. Luz and Marcy wax poetic about the events of the day.
This is essentially Chapter 3.5. It's just a short epilogue for that chapter.
"Luz! Marcy! You'll never guess what they have here!" King ran towards them, holding up a romance novel with an extremely risque cover that was bigger than his head.
"King?! Where did you even find that book!!!! Why don't they keep it on a higher up shelf????"
"They did, but they underestimated my scampering abilities."
"We should probably put this back."
"You'll have to pry it from my cold, dead paws!" King ran away with the book, tripping over forwards due to its weight.
"Your paws are bone!!! They're not even warm in the first place!!!"
Luz picked up the book, with King still grasping onto it like his life depended on it, and carried it over to the main librarian to turn it back in.
After some poking and prying, King was separated from the book. After that fiasco, Marcy picked out some books on the human realm and the trio left the library to return home. As the kids walked in, Eda shouted hello to them each. King followed after them, but his confident strut was immediately interrupted by Eda.
"Now mister, why did I get a call from the library saying you tried to check out an 18+ book again?"
Moonlight shone through the guest window of the Owl House. Luz and Marcy were both tucked up snuggly and conversing with each other about how the day had gone.
"I was feeling a little overwhelmed in the market if I'm being honest." Marcy admitted. "All those people yelling at you to buy things. And the smells. Oh, the smells."
"I get what you mean completely Marshmallow." Luz concurred. "I get a little awkwards in big crowds."
"You were doing pretty good talking to Edric and Emira earlier."
"Ohh come on, we were both kinda bombing."
"Yeah, maybe a little :3."
"We got a lead now though Luz! Isn't that exciting?"
"Super!"
"Oh yeah, I almost forgot. Do you wanna look through those books on the human world with me tomorrow?"
"Absolutely."
"It's 1am! Just go to sleep!" Eda whined from her bedroom across the hall. "You're keeping me up." The sound of Eda banging her staff on the ground could be heard from the other side of the door, making the two adolescents shudder.
"Good night Luz." Marcy called, switching off her lamp.
"Good night, Marcy."
