Chapter 21 - Jiang Ling

"Please don't greet me in front of Gao Ming."

"Okay! I understand; also take care."

Lin Feng understood Qi Xinyi's position, and to make sure that the girl would have a peaceful sleep that night, he made a promise with that girl.

Knowing that, to Qi Xinyi, that program she is in has a value greater than her life itself. He did not try to push the girl's request for his own self-satisfaction and greed.

Team 1 arrived.

At that instant, Lin Feng definitely looked at that group.

After glancing at two new, attractive members from the first year that he knew well and who were well-liked by the male population, he eventually noticed the figure of Qi Xinyi, who appeared to be somewhat quiet at the moment.

He simply ignored it because he did not want to be seen staring at her.

This made Gao Ming even less sure about their relationship, even though it was only friendship. However, that man's character was as limited as his thinking.

But at that moment, Qi Xinyi surely looked at Lin Feng, and seeing him feign ignorance, she smiled, though at the same time she felt weirdly unhappy.

She was in dire need of assistance right now and hoped Lin Feng might have done something, but she was losing sight of the fact that Lin Feng was only a student.

'What are you thinking? He is doing what you had asked him to do. And he is keeping his words at this stage, so don't waver in.' Qi Xinyi thought inside her head, when...

"Xinyi! Come here." Teacher Lan Xiyue voice called. It was like a ring, making Gao Ming silent for a moment as he looked at Lin Feng at that moment, and his guess was not that bad; even Qi Xinyi had the same thought at that time.

"Yes!" After replying, the girl walked toward Teacher Lan, as her gaze turned toward Lin Feng, who at the moment was grinning, which was more than enough to make her realize that it was his plan.

Additionally, Gao Ming was able to infer that much from a single glance, which caused his face to darken as he gave the new boy a glare that was obviously hostile.

'Master, he sure is glaring hard. Can I handle it? from here.' Avilis voice echoed within his head.

Since he could feel another figure next to the Gao Ming car—who appeared to be an elderly man and a martial artist at that—Lin Feng refused to comply and asked him to continue hiding at the side of his car if that time came.

"I had to thank you for giving my teammate a ride." The guy sneered. He tried to look polite, but his tone was not that polite.

"No need to worry. She is also from the same group, and helping someone is the teaching I learned from my master at a very young age." Lin Feng also made no effort to be kind and gentle at this point, when all the girls were accompanying teacher Lan.

Instead, he displayed his usual expression, which was full of conceit and lack of patience.

"I see this is real you. I must say, you are very good at acting." Gao Ming sneered, finally seeing Lin Feng's true self.

At last, an elderly man walked next to Gao Ming, but naturally, at that moment, Gao Ming, the other boy, and the elderly man also noticed Avilis and Mandif, who had just crossed over to stand next to Lin Feng, their master.

"Master, stand back. Those two are no good." And it was as expected of the old guy.

He was extremely sensitive to the presence of Avilis and Mandif, and because they were disguised as human beings, the old man could not have recognized them as vampires or ghouls.

However, their strength was more than sufficient to shock him, and he looked at Lin Feng, who appeared to be a typical student, but having a guard like them was telling the opposite.

Gao Ming had been with the old man for many years.

Because he knew that the elderly man's complete awareness was not something to laugh at and had saved his life numerous times, he refrained from acting hastily and turned to face Lin Feng and the two guards.

"You have a nice guard, young master Gao Ming. But I hope you will not agitate my side, or else... I am sure you can ask your guard in detail." Saying that Lin feng completely ignored that guy, who looked full of anger, but he still held it in.

After that...

Avilis and Mandif went off with Lin Feng's car.

Lin Feng was made driver of the new car that teacher Lan brought and was big enough to have full team 2 and few members of team 1 within it.

While Qi Xinyi was made into the group representative, who had the right to tell the group activity and progress to teacher Lan, a special position, and thanks to that, Gao Ming was unable to put pressure on her, even if he was the leader of that group.

Having Avilis within his shadow.

Illiya also came back from Mandif's side after finishing a few projects.

She was complaining about how difficult the work was because Mandif was infiltrating numerous groups in the city to obtain the entire network setting of their city and other nearby cities, including the one they were visiting.

Plus, due to skill Car Driving [Master], the group was tired and slept like a log at the back, making Lin Feng sigh as he thought how they were having such a nice time and lament having no one to talk with.

'I guess! This is what we call majority enforcement.' He sighed, making Illiya giggle within his consciousness as the tireless journey continued, and after an hour, Lin Feng found a nice stop shop in between that had things he could get for drinks; hence, he stopped his car.

"Can I also join in? I am also thirsty." The sudden voice of Jiang Ling made Lin Feng tremble a bit, but turning back to look at the girl, he nodded in while reminding her.

"Can you please not speak so silently from the side? It was quite scary."

"Hmm... I'll try." She naturally and calmly answered.

Just like how she tends to answer very shortly within the class, Lin Feng realizes that the girl habit of speaking low and speaking so short has not changed much even in this group.

After buying things.

The girl insisted on paying it back, so Lin Feng did not reject it but bought a few more for the group, which was still sleeping in the car.

"Let's put it in the cold storage; also, if you don't have space, join me on the front seat." Lin Feng asked as he looked at the group that had completely taken the backseat.

Jian Ling accepted his invitation to sit with him in the front seat, which was more spacious than the back.

Jiang Ling!

She is a well-known figure in the Lin Feng class, with a delicate face and a tendency to nod off most of the time. She also had a wonderful personality, though she avoided male students and was very well-liked by the female students.

Although she was a little better than the boys in his class, she still had that shyness on display right now, so Lin Feng did not try to talk to her and instead let her enjoy the book she was reading, which to him appeared to be a novel.

"Hmm, this is not a novel. But also a script that was used as movie material recently." Seeing that Lin Feng had a little interest in that novel, Jiang Ling spoke in a low tone.

"Is that so?" "Can you tell the key point of this novel? I think I might have read it." With an initiated topic, the girl was not that shy, and it seemed that she liked that novel a lot, so she had quite an overlook of this novel.

After a little listening, Lin Feng also recalled this book because he had read it for a class assignment and participated in the discussion, sharing with her his own reading-related thoughts that were completely different from Jiang Ling's.

"That is also one way of looking." She agreed with Lin Feng.

And while Jiang Ling had the perspective of that book, which made him realize how intricately written it was, Lin Feng had nothing against it.

He simply thought that he might become a fan of this author as well.

"But I don't like the ending." She softly commented.

"Well, you have a soft heart! I guess." Lin Feng commented. After all, he can't think of this novel ending being that bad.

However, from the viewpoint of Jiang Ling, who may be supporting the female lead, the ending was actually not that good.

She felt that it was cold and that it ended differently after they had gone through so much. In addition, each character in this book had a distinct personality and point of view, which made it easy to confide in them.

This was because Lin Feng, who was supportive of the supporting character, thought the ending was nice.

"But I guess! The ending that you want might be a really nice read too. If it were to be written in that manner." Lin Feng commented this time looking at the girl, who also nodded and smiled at that comment before looking a bit dozing off.

'Thanks for the nice talk.'

'Good night.'
