The next day, just as I expected, Catherine didn't let Phoebe rest, immediately bringing all her drama when she tried joining Kaene and her for breakfast.
I knew all this because I watched it from the shadows, cloaking myself with my witch magic.
"Does this family know they have the potential for their own reality show?" I asked myself, sniggering when I witnessed former Luna Catherine storming out of the dining room.
This was the chaos I was talking about. But I needed more. There needed to be more for my plan to come together.
"Time to plant some rumors," I whispered to myself when Kaene sent out his staff lingering in the dining room, including Phoebe's maid.
Still under the cloak of my spell, I followed after the maid who seemed to mutter to herself concerning the recent happenings.
"And I thought Phoebe was going to be set for a life of enjoyment once she steps foot into this mansion." Miranda, the maid, remarked with sarcasm in her voice. "This is barely the next day after the Moon's Chosen ceremony and she's already facing so much backlash from the Alpha and his family."
There it was.
The penchant for gossip I've been searching for. She'll make the perfect pawn.
When Miranda got to a secluded part of the mansion's halls, I emerged out of the shadows, stalking her from behind.
Just for fun, I grabbed her shoulder, stunning her and forcing her to turn her gaze to me.
"B– Beta Negan." Her eyes shone with surprise as she bowed profusely, her face flushing red.
Oh? Don't tell me this one likes me too.
Scoffing silently, I placed my fingers on her chin, bringing her gaze to meet mine.
"You know, dear Miranda. Gossiping isn't good." I whispered, looking around as if someone was watching us.
Her expression stiffened with fear and realization as she bowed down repeatedly. "F– Forgive me, Beta Negan. It's just... I find Luna Phoebe's situation p– pitiful. I'm not... I'm..."
"Please." I placed my hand in front of her face, shushing her as I rolled my eyes. "There's no need for all this. I'm a fan of your kind, actually. Gossipers, that is. I'll be damned before I admit liking a pure-blood wolf."
Confusion was written all over her face as she blinked. "I... I don't understand what you're saying, sir."
Oops... Looks like I've said too much.
Waving my hand in front of her face, I whispered a spell that forced her into a state of dizziness, causing her to stumble.
I didn't end there, knocking her out completely with another spell, but catching her before she could fall to the ground.
Scanning my gaze around, I dragged her into an empty room and locked the door behind me.
"Now..." I rubbed my palms, licking my lips expectantly. "Time for some planting."
Without another word, I worked my magic on her, casting a simple spell that had complicated effects.
Okay, no, not that complicated.
"The Beta and Luna have a suspicious friendship," I whispered, my fingers glowing with a weird light.
At that same moment, after twitching in her unconscious state, the maid repeated my words. "The Beta and Luna have a suspicious friendship."
Excellent!
My lips curled into a smirk as I continued feeding her mind with gossip she could share with others.
She might be just one measly maid... But a single gossip as dramatic as this one could spread like wildfire and quickly become the TRUTH to tens and even hundreds of people, regardless of the source of the gossip.
Anyway, after I'd messed around with her mind for a bit, I dusted my palms with a satisfied chuckle.
"Now go onto the world and spread some gossip, child." I brushed her hair tenderly before slipping out of the room as discreetly as I'd entered.
With that out of the way, I had more feeble minds to plant my seeds of chaos in.
After waiting several minutes, still hiding in the shadows, I watched dear old Kaene stepping out of Phoebe's suite with a suspiciously sweaty shirt.
"Ah, don't tell me they finally consummated their 'union'." I scoffed, eyeing him from my hiding spot.
He seemed so proud of himself too.
I could bet the fool barely made her reach orgasm with that grumpy attitude of his.
When the coast was clear, I stepped out of the shadows and paid Phoebe a little visit.
It didn't take long for me to plant seeds of discord in her mind as well, subtly warning her about former Luna Catherine.
I mean... I was doing her a favor anyway; it wasn't entirely my gain. But now Phoebe would spend the rest of her days in this house on her toes.
Stepping out of her suite, I sniggered to myself, stretching my limbs as I made my way to my private residence.
Just then, when I was finally out of the Alpha's mansion, Rowland materialized beside me.
"Mission successful, my… I mean, Negan?" He asked, his voice rather cherry.
I nodded, breathing in with a smile. "Yup. There's so much chaos in this mansion waiting to explode, Rowland. I can smell it."
That was one of my many special skills. Sensing and exploiting drama to my advantage.
"Have you contacted the others and filled them in on the new additions to our plan?" I asked, glancing at Rowland as I placed my hands into my pockets.
He nodded with a sly grin. "The best of them from neighboring packs will also be attending the Luna Ball disguised as high members of werewolf society. They learned pretty fast from you, Negan." He remarked.
Good.
The seeds I'd planted today and in the following days will accumulate into a spectacle waiting to happen during the upcoming Luna Ball.
No one will see it coming... Not even that stupid Elder Gita.
"Brace yourself, Rowland." I blurted. "We're witnessing the fall of the Blue Moon pack in real-time. And once they fall... The rest will follow."
I sniggered, basking in what might be the last normal sunny day this pack will experience.
