"You aren't leaving here in one piece!" The Delta roared from the other end of the hall as I ran toward the exit.
I knew he'd try shooting me again and jumped forward, falling on the ground.
As expected, a loud bang sounded around the hall, followed by a frustrated grunt from the Delta.
"Stay still, you reject!" He groaned, but it seemed he was out of bullets as the only sound I could hear was him trying to cork his gun.
I panted heavily, struggling to catch my breath as I got up and successfully ran out of the hall.
The sound of my shoes on the tarred ground as I ran echoed in the night and my gown got in the way of my running.
Dread washed over my body as I glanced back, half expecting the Delta to run out of the hall as well.
"I need to get to Kaene faster." I blurted with gritted teeth, my bones slowly shifting as my wolf gave me a little physical boost.
