She didn't see Darcy again after his disappearance.
Leaving her in the rocking chair. She found a note from Darcy on the kitchen table.
"Dawn please, I just got a call from a neighbour. She said I left a tap opened
I'll try to fix that and get back to you. Take care and don't do anything stupid"
~love Darcy.
"Hmm this looks so weird about Darcy, he just took off like that not even a goodbye and he didn't even use the door. Anyways whatever".
Dawn thought to herself.
She had escorted Scarly home before she found the letter. She would have asked her to check on him though. Her cell had died and the lights are out
Something that was definitely out of the ordinary. She leaned in on the sofa and drifted off to sleep. Stirring occasionally and breathing through her mouth softly
"Dawn, D-aw-w-n, she heard a familiar voice calling. She walked further into the light and noticed she was underwater. She got closer and saw babies all around her wailing. "Dawn please help me!Get me out of here please!
She thought to herself, "That sounded like Scarly". She got closer to what looked like a sign post and saw herself tied up in chains with three babies building a bonfire around her.
"No, no, please don't burn me! please! please"
She looked around and saw all the babies laughing hysterically
Then, a loud clang clang booooom. The laughter ceased and a man in black velvet hood moved in towards her
She realized the hood was flowing like water and didn't have a velvety look. He looked half solid half liquid which was ridiculous to her.
Man:"This is my army young lady, and this baby will make my family, my people eternally free.
Abortion will only cost you your life and hers".
He pointed at another post where Scarly appeared sleeping peacefully
Dawn: "No, no, please not Scarlett please!"
she said as she reached out to grab hold of his legs as he walked way in a wild laughter but she only felt liquid
"Nooooo" she sobbed. Kicking and turning on the couch until she fell. She opened her eyes and saw Scarlett, she let out a scream.
She was sweaty and panting, she continued screaming no no no no until Scarlett touched her and said
"Dawn it's okay its 7:00am, what's wrong with you? Was it a nightmare?"
Dawn: "Scarlett, Scarlett it's you are you okay" She breathed as she examined her.
Scarlett: "I came in and saw the door unlocked and you screaming...
Tried to wake you up buh you wouldn't burge. Then you went all no no no no no. I'm sure you had a nightmare"
Dawn: "Yes!! A terrible one." She said and swallowed hard
Scarlett: "Hey, go get ready I'll make breakfast, hurry."
Dawn went in to freshen up and came down for breakfast. They left for school around eight and were lucky to have missed Lincoln Friday morning forum. Always boring
They headed to the Gifted & Talented class.
Dawn: "Scarly, today's gonna be my last day at school. I'm dropping out. I wanna have the baby". She said.
Scarlett: "what! But you sai....ohk so what about your scholarship?!"
Dawn: "Scarly, you know I'll start growing big soon and I won't be able to hide it from everyone. I'll see Ms. Alora and well talk I might be back next year".
Scarlett: "if that's what you want, fine. I can't stop you buh I'll be happy if you didn't have to stop school"
Dawn just smiled and led the way. "I'm doing this for you, Scarly, your life is on the line. Only if you knew". Dawn said in her head and shoved the thought away.
Dawn: "Ms.Alora, good morning". She said as she approached the classy principal. "Can I just see you for a sec?" She said.
Alora: "oh Dawn. How are you? I heard you had a a temp yesterday. Hope you good?"
Dawn: "I'm actually here to see u about that....
I'm pregnant and I wanna drop out before people start noticing".
Alora: "You've got to be kidding me Dawn. You know what that means? You know what's at stake here?"
Dawn: "Yes ma'am, I'm sure I wanna do this.i'll try next year. Sorry to let you down. Really sorry".
Alora: "it's fine just take care of yourself and come back next year we'll always have a place fo you. You ought to be smarter that this" she said as she shook here head.
"And hey, quit the drugs, Its dangerous for your health".
Dawn: "Thanks ma'am". Dawn said as exits the principal's office with fresh tears welling up in her eyes. She said her goodbyes and and left home.
She didn't even hear from Darcy, she thought maybe he'll come by later.
On the way home, she wanders how Darcy talks as the old man in her dreams.
It all felt so weird to her and got chills around her neck
