Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Harsh Truth.

—Six point ninety two!.

The emotionless words of the bald bulky Examiner match the luminous dark blue numbers appearing in the screen of the "Scanner", a rectangular tablet made of translucent cristal that he is carrying and operating with both hands.

The past sentence crash down like a hammer onto the ears of the slim young man that was standing in front of me just a moment ago.

—Keep improving and try again the next year.

Added the Examiner, his voice reverberating across the latge and busy test hall; Forcing the realization deeper into the youngster, the truth smacks him really hard as he fall on his knees, crying right on the spot at the fatidic grade of his "Talent" and the following rejection.

Seeing this scene makes me slightly nervous; Especially due to the two towering guards clad in a silver blue armor that carry the young man out of my path.

The fact that i can kill both of them with one hit of a "Vwöölth" ammunition, doesn't help to retain the entirety of my composure.

{Breath and recall the reason you came here "Trektör"… , To test my "Talent" on a whim; When i always act measured, logically and accordingly to the ongoing situation. But this time i wanted to challenge myself on doing something that i don't have the slightest clue about the outcome ahead}

—Next One!.

{There is no need to panic "Trektör". The Farioth are more threatening than this whole situation; And you have slain hundreds of thousands of them during your more than six years of military service in the Northern Front of the "Kcrwlmndth Federation", the harshest and cruelest battlefield in all Clarattoia}

Hiding my indecision by stepping forward with a firm stance, I can feel the incessant beating of my two heartbeats increase exponentially, as the contraction of my leg muscles almost provoke my movement to be clunky.

(Calm down and remember "Trektör", You only need to obtain more than seven and you are completely settle; Because this means that at least you can have a single "Profession", and with it, being eligible to attend one of the Academies in this continent}

Having partially a mental breakdown and almost developing a double personality, i await for the result with a bit of trepidation as the indigo light emanated from the Scanner goes up and down across my entire body frame of 3.75 meters.

{Worst case scenario, I go back to the "Federation", even when they have become such a pushovers}

The numbers begin to appear in the screen with the luminous blue i saw before; "One", "Eight", "Seven".

{Well, that was unexpected}

Stepping to my right to leave the enclosure the Examiner speak aloud.

—Eighteen point seventy five!.

{Wait, What?!, Am i blind and my hearing is garbage?!, Or the Examiner actually say 18.75?!}

—Congratulations, You may proceed to the adjacent chamber to receive the two "Professions" you have and win access to "Protocol".

{Well, I am not tripping, I managed to pass!}

My shock is contain by me as soon as it came; Then, I do a respectful nod to the Examiner while another Guard points out with his right hand towards the door that will take me to the Profession Room.

A "Next one!" is heard behind me as i cross the frame of my destination.

Entering in the room, i see in the middle a stone pedestal with a transparent dodecahedron in the top made of a type of quartzite.

Observing around, i notice 21 people further away, sitting in three rows, wearing robes of different colours that occult entirely their silhouettes and hide in shadows their faces.

—Get your hands near the "Endodecodex", as close as you can.

At unison and with androgynous tone instructed to me the congregation in the room.

Approaching the pedestal, I follow their words, trying to bring my palms closer to the crystal dodecahedron.

Regardless of the increasing difficulty, with steady pace, I gradually reduce the distance more and more.

This, apparently, produces a change in the object, generating several dim lights of different shades.Yellow, Green, Blue, Orange, Red, Purple, White and Black; Then they intertwine with each other to produce other tonalities.

But when my hands enter in contact with the "Endodecodex", as they call it; I become unable to unattach my palms from the quartzite surface of the object.

This is not the only notorious change, as the lights emitted turn out to be mostly in shades of several types of Blacks, Wines and Burgundies.

An ethereal Cyan makes its presence too, as well a raging Red, a mysterious Violet, a rare Pink with Dark Purple and a soft Lilac Lavender.

Finally, and the most weirdest ones of the bunch; Are an extremely dark yet obscure green accompanied by a strange purplish blue that gives me goosebumps, provoking a nostalgic reaction that almost feels like the vibe you receive in "KOD", a "Kill Or Die" scenario.

{What is this?!, Why my reaction is so… , Odd?!}

Curiosity is brimming out of my expression, making me unable to erase the silly grin on my face, even when i don't really know or understand if this is something good or bad for my immediate future.

—Two Transparent Professions…

Mention at unison the congregation, taking me out of my reverie as i focus my full attention to their words.

—Both categorized as Offensive; While "Vigour" and "Cohesion", hence "Vyåhö", are your most compatible attributes.

{I know Vyåhö, i use it for the first time when i have a year and a month of age; But, What are the others attributes?, and how do they affect me?}

—You may appreciate them more closely in the "Parameters" section of your "Protocol", along with your "Profile"…

{I need to check this as soon as i can, to understand what are they saying}

—And remember, aside disclosing one "Profession" for courtesy, along with the public information showcased in your personal "Portrait"; You should not share any part of your "Protocol" under any circumstances, Unless, the trust with the confident or confidents are completely absolute, devoid of any doubts, regrets or coercion.

—Understood.

I reply with consciousness, what wins me a few nods of approval as they continue with their verdict.

—Even when a high ratio of Vyåhö is expected from a Man, We have take into consideration the incredible outstanding Physical Prowess you possess, and in the sake of nurture to the maximum your growing potential in this field and even tap into others, we recommend you to attend the Shtra'Yon Combat Academy.

{I heard their teaching approach is wild and unorthodox, bordering savagery at the eyes of the most civilized individuals, in other words, Too much for the Weak minded inhabitants of how the globe is nowadays}

This is a problem plaguing almost any major Nation across the world that doesn't have a frontier bordering the freezing territories of the Farioth; The marble savannah steppes of the Obsidian Lions; The deep oceans ruled by the Sirein; Or the Procterian Protectorate.

Once a dictatorship that was dominated with tungsten grasp for more than 600 years by the now exiled "Mad Tyrant", a being so powerful that those who overthrow his reign couldn't eliminate him.

{More like they couldn't stop his path when he decide to flee, and then "Let him scape"}

—Understood.

At my positive acceptance, the congregation signals the exit with their hands, adding kindly a last comment out of their own volition before my steady depart.

—You should arrive to the Academy and acclimatize yourself to their schedule before the entrance test that is going to start in the incoming month, so you have the opportunity to choose another Academy if this one is not of your liking.

I make a Kcrwlmndth military salute as a "Thank you" for the offered advice, closing my hands like if they were paws, and then crashing my palms one against the other while i am completely firm, portraying unparallel confidence in every movement.

Returning to the previous chamber, i observe the lines of people being tested to determine their "Talent" as i did a few minutes.

Noticing a simple pattern during my way out; Fourteen of every fifteen candidates have dejected expressions after being rejected.

And less than one every few hundreds is objectively relived; Is highly probable that they receive a result decent enough to be genuinely satisfied.

{I could be on their situation, But since that's not the case, I just have to focus on my next move, one at a time, and for now, I have to take a train to the Shtra'Yon Combat Academy, because in the end, this is barely the begging of my new and hopefully exiting life. However, I can get out of my head is there anyone that has obtain 21 of talent to have access to 3 Professions, Or if i ever going to meet someone with a 22.5 Talent, the maximum amount anyone can have being "Null". Well, there is only one way to find this out…}
