Setting Off: The protagonist (Lyra or Kael) embarks on their journey, stepping beyond the familiar village boundaries into the wild and unknown. They feel a mixture of excitement and trepidation, as stories of beasts and bandits fill their mind, yet the pull of "The Cross" is stronger than their fear.
A Mysterious Encounter: On the forest path, they encounter a strange figure—an old wanderer or a traveling merchant—who offers cryptic advice about "destiny" and "dragons' wrath." The figure hints that not all dragons are friendly and that some seek revenge against humans. Before disappearing, they hand the protagonist a small, enchanted item (e.g., a charm or compass) that will guide them to "The Cross."
A Hidden Power: As they journey on, the protagonist begins to sense strange abilities awakening within themselves. Maybe they can sense the presence of animals or hear whispers of ancient dragon voices in the wind. These powers are new and feel uncontrollable, making them question if they're truly ready.
First Glimpse of Danger: Just as they start to wonder if they're following the right path, the protagonist encounters their first real threat—perhaps a group of bandits, a hostile creature, or even a mysterious dragon cult member who senses the protagonist's connection to dragons. This encounter forces them to tap into their new powers, defending themselves in a way that both amazes and frightens them.
A Revelation: After the danger has passed, they realize that "The Cross" is more than a legend—it's a place tied directly to their fate, and it might also be the only place where they can truly understand their powers.
