Raha's eyes narrowed. "Why do I need to go to the countryside?"
Hassan's expression turned evasive. "It's just temporary, dear. You need a change of scenery."
Raha pressed on. "What's going on? You're hiding something."
Amal intervened, her voice soothing. "Raha, sweetie, let's focus on your recovery."
But Raha's determination grew. "No, Mom. I want answers. What happened to me? Who's the man in the photograph?"
Hassan shifted uncomfortably. "We've told you, dear. Just an old friend."
Raha's gaze locked onto her parents. "I don't believe you."
Amal's eyes darted to Hassan before speaking. "Raha, remember Hussein? Your childhood friend?"
Raha's thoughts stirred. Hussein...the boy who had been her constant companion during summer vacations.
"Yes, I remember," Raha said, her voice measured.
Hassan's face lit up. "He's been asking about you. Maybe we can arrange a visit."
Raha raised an eyebrow. "What's the point?"
Amal's tone turned cheerful. "You two were inseparable as kids. He's such a nice young man."
Raha's eyes narrowed. "You're changing the subject."
Hassan stood up. "We're doing what's best for you, Raha. Let's focus on your recovery."
Raha's voice rose. "I want answers! Who's the man in the photograph?"
The room fell silent.
Amal's expression softened. "Let's take a walk, dear."
As they walked, Amal spoke of Hussein's accomplishments and his kindness.
Raha's mind wandered, the stranger's face etched in her thoughts.
