Chapter 57 - Rise and Fly, Danzo’s Right Arm

In the Hokage's office, tensions hung heavy in the air. Shimura Danzo, arms folded and eyes sharp, looked over at Gojo, the white-haired enigma lounging on the sofa, casually sucking on a lollipop.

"Don't push my limits," Danzo muttered, his gaze hardening as he adjusted the bandages on his right arm.

Gojo tilted his head and raised a brow, grinning mischievously. "Sure, sure. And hey, if I do end up being Hokage, I say we mark the occasion by making my wedding anniversary with Tsuna-chan a village-wide holiday. We'll have fireworks, lollipops, the works. Sound good?"

The room collectively froze, absorbing the audacity. A wedding anniversary festival for the entire village? For Gojo and Tsunade? The absurdity was almost mesmerizing.

Danzo bristled. "That's enough of your nonsense. Hokage is a serious position, not a playground!"

Gojo waved him off, unfazed. "Fine, fine. Then I nominate the little fox boy for the job. He's been yammering about being Hokage since he could walk."

Danzo's face darkened further. "You think Hokage is something to be tossed around? It's the cornerstone of this village!"

"And your brand of ambition is what I despise most," Gojo replied, his lollipop pointing at Danzo like a wand of pure sass. His carefree smirk dropped into a hard stare, piercing through Danzo. "Do you get what I mean?"

The room fell silent, the playful energy dissipating. Danzo clenched his jaw, his face as stone.

"All jokes aside," Gojo finally sighed, shifting his tone back to teasing. "Let's just go with the old perv here for Hokage." He nodded at Jiraiya, who looked caught off guard, blinking in surprise.

Koharu glanced at Jiraiya thoughtfully. "You do have the strength and wisdom. Hokage material, perhaps."

Danzo's brow twitched, his patience clearly wearing thin. He had been denied the Hokage position once already; this time, he was certain it would be his turn to lead.

"Ehh, I'm not too sure about it," Jiraiya shrugged, stroking his chin thoughtfully. "I think there's someone better."

Everyone raised their brows in surprise. Who else was in line, really?

"Someone who's strong, respected, and...let's face it, not as rowdy as Gojo," Jiraiya smirked. "Tsunade, the granddaughter of the First Hokage, a hero of the village. No one could carry the legacy better."

"Denied!" Gojo interjected, his grin reappearing. "I've got a world to show her after I'm done training Squad Seven. If she's stuck in the Hokage's office, that's just... tragic."

Jiraiya leaned over, whispering with a sly smile. "Think about it, kid. You're going to be around the village for a while anyway. Wouldn't it be nice to see Tsunade every day?"

Gojo shot him a suspicious look, smirking. "You're just trying to trap me in one place with Tsuna as bait, aren't you?"

"Figured it out already?" Jiraiya laughed, scratching his head sheepishly.

After a moment, Gojo nodded, still amused. "Alright, you've got me. Seeing my cute Tsuna-chan every day doesn't sound too bad. I'll let her take the Hokage seat for now."

Jiraiya chuckled to himself. "Cute, he says," he muttered under his breath. "Does he realize she's knocked me out a few times?"

Koharu tilted her head. "But where is Tsunade these days?"

"Don't worry, I know where to find her," Gojo replied, waving his hand dismissively.

"It's decided, then," Koharu said, nodding with approval.

But Danzo wasn't having it. His face was twisted in frustration. "Tsunade? That woman...!" He hadn't even finished before—

WHAP!

Danzo's bandaged right arm went flying across the room, blood splattering onto the floor. Every single person in the room froze, staring in shock.

"Oh, sorry," Gojo said cheerily, casually flicking his hand as if he'd swatted a bug. "I thought I saw a mosquito. Nasty things, aren't they?"

Danzo was shaking, clutching at the bleeding stump of his arm, his face twisted in both pain and fury. "You…!"

"Don't mention it!" Gojo winked, brushing it off as though he'd just done Danzo a favor. "Old folks like you shouldn't be dealing with pesky mosquitoes anyway."

Danzo glared at him with pure hatred, barely managing to hold back his anger. "You'll regret this."

Gojo strolled over, leaning down to whisper. "Play nice with Tsuna, or I might start mistaking the rest of you for... bugs."

Gritting his teeth, Danzo swept up his detached arm and stomped out of the office, shooting Gojo a murderous look on his way out.

Jiraiya looked over at the two elders, shaking his head. "Take this as a lesson. Don't bad-mouth Tsunade in front of Gojo again. The guy's like a guard dog on steroids."

Koharu sighed. "Well, Gojo is a brilliant ninja, but his methods… he's a bit too free-spirited, don't you think?"

Shikaku rubbed his temples with a sigh. "'A bit' is an understatement. I'd say he does exactly whatever he wants, whenever he wants. It's like trying to reason with a tornado."

The room fell silent, each of them aware of the peculiar truth. Gojo Satoru, the strongest Ninja, the protector of the village, and—unfortunately for them all—the world's most dangerous wildcard.
