Chereads / Odyssey To Dominion / Chapter 51 - 51. The Calm Before the Storm

Chapter 51 - 51. The Calm Before the Storm

Nytri sits cross-legged on the 128th floor of the dungeon focused. She now has long black hair cascading over her shoulders as she concentrated on creating runic figures of different kinds. She compared them carefully, trying to decipher their meanings, muttering to herself as she observes their intricate details. She makes 2 different runic circles with the same or similar effects and compares them and she writes the meaning of each rune in the DATA LAKE as she goes.

Nytri murmurs, "These runes are so fascinating," Her black eyes flicking back and forth between the different circles. "I wonder what kind of magic they could produce if used in the right way."

Suddenly, her detection skill rang on the 13th floor, "Huh, what's this all about?". Nytri closes her eyes and use her clairvoyance to see what is happening. She peers into the upper levels, she sees demons gathering, their dark forms outlined against the flickering torches.

Nytri shrugs, "Humph, it's none of my business," she mutters to herself, deactivating her skill and continuing her observation of the runes.

..........

On the 98th floor, Clone13 is using kin control in an attempt to create a monster with the same qualities as herself. She has mixed her skills up and used dark summoning at the end, which Clone3 had discovered drains a lot of energy but summoned the next closest thing to it. Clone13 has made variant monsters that are under her kin control, she likes making family.

However, this caused a domino effect, causing weaker monsters to flee to the upper floors, and even bosses fled, until the effect reached the demons. They are making a giant magic circle, apparently summoning their army into the dungeon to attack the humans.

Demon leader of the army growled, "We'll crush them all," A wicked grin spreading across his face. "Their pathetic guild won't stand a chance against us."

Another demon cackles, "Indeed, we shall bathe in their blood and feast on their flesh,", his eyes glowing with anticipation.

But little did they know, they were about to face a formidable foe. As the demons summoned their army of 70,000 and began their march towards the human city, ready to kill. Cuel, the Slaughterer Variant, stood in their path. It is only half a meter tall, but it has extra limbs growing on its back, two tails, two arms, and three tentacles. It walks on two feet and is level 52, with impressive stats at that.

Demon leader glares at Cuel, "Hah, this monster dares to stand in our way? Teach it a lesson!" The demons charge towards the Slaughterer Variant, confident in their victory. There is an explosion as an abyssal fire spread from Cuel's mouth, he burns the demons to ash. The tentacles on his back springs into action as it pierces the demons and even splitting some of them up. He runs across the floor as he releases Abyss Magic all around him and rips the demons apart.

The demons find themselves overwhelmed by its incredible strength and its array of powerful skills. The Slaughterer Variant cuts through their ranks with ease, its tentacles whipping out to impale demons and its extra limbs battering them aside. "I…I…..I thought we were strong enough to take it down!" one demon cries out in disbelief as it watches its comrades fall.

The demon leader commands, "Enough whining! We must use our magic to weaken it!", gathering his wits and focusing on his own spells. But even as he casts, he knew it was futile, the Slaughterer Variant's resistances are too high, and it is immune to most of their attacks.

Nytri watching from above, couldn't help but be impressed by the Slaughterer Variant's strength. "Well, well, well," she murmured to herself, a small smile playing on her lips. "Looks like my clones have outdone themselves this time. I didn't think little Cuel could fight an army alone, he's been working hard."

As the battle rages on, the Slaughterer Variant continues to decimate the demon army. It is a terrifying sight to behold, a true force of nature that seems unstoppable. And yet, even as it fought, it never lost sight of its objective: to protect the sacred ground of the 13th floor.

A demon cries out pleading, "W….Wait, please! We didn't mean to... we just wanted to pass!" It dodges a swipe from one of the Slaughterer Variant's tentacles, it is trying to flee. The Variant shows no mercy, and its extra limbs reaches out to grab the demon by the neck. "You should have thought of that before attacking me, causing chaos in the dungeon, now you die hisss." he hissed, before snapping the demon's neck with a sickening crunch.

One demon, a level 22 warrior, stumbles back in horror as the Variant's tentacle pierced through his chest. "P-please, have mercy!" he gasps, his voice barely audible over the sounds of battle. The Variant merely chuckles, its grip tightening on the warrior's body. "Mercy?" it sneered. "You demons have shown none, you want to bath in blood? Bath in yours." The warrior's eyes widen in horror as the Variant tears him apart, his screams echoing across the battlefield.

Another demon, a larger one with spiky armor and a wicked-looking axe, swings at the Variant with all its might. But the Slaughterer Variant is too fast, and it dodges the attack before lunging forward and slicing the demon's torso in two with one swift motion.

The demon screamed, "No, no, no!" It fell to the ground, clutching at its wounds. "This can't be happening... we were supposed to win..." But the Variant shows no pity, and it finished off the demon with a blast of abyss magic that incinerated it on the spot.

Another demon, a level 28 mage, tries to flee as the Variant turns its attention towards her. "Please, spare me!" she begs, her voice trembling as she makes a barrier around her. The Variant merely smirk, its tentacles lashing out to catch her. "You demons are all the same," it hissed. "Always begging for mercy when your own lives are on the line. Pathetic." The mage screams as the Variant's tentacles crush her body, her magic spells fading away into nothingness.

As more and more demons fall to the Slaughterer Variant's relentless assault, their cries for mercy became louder and more desperate. But the Variant remains unfazed, its eyes glowing with a cold, otherworldly light as it continues its mission to purify the 13th floor.

In the end, not a single demon survived the Variant's wrath, and the dungeon is not desecrated despite the bloody mess. The Slaughterer Variant standing victorious over the corpses of its enemies. It lets out a low howl, a sound of triumph and satisfaction, before turning to leave the battlefield

Nytri watches it go, "He's kinda cool. He looks different around me though." She imagines Cuel wagging his…..tentacles before her and pets him. "Ye~ah no matter, it all worked out fine, more research for me." She continues her research as Paxius is practicing how to dance...…
