Chapter 18 - #18 - Details

Although i said that, it might depend.

If it's erasing fate, then i just have to do something drastic, like i did with Dio.

If it's changing Fate in a minor scale, then i don't know what exactly to do.

"I think you should talk to me about the fate that i need to change first."

"Yes, well, let me begin by talking a bit about myself."

"?, You don't need to do that."

"I think it's the best way i can explain this."

Well, i won't doubt the prophet too much.

"Since i have memory, my Stand has always been with me, letting me have visions whenever i was close to a reflection."

"While no one could see Stardust's form, my father always could, he told me that these were special powers that we needed to use responsibly..."

"I tried to do so, but when i was 12, i saw my family's fate..."

"...They would die in their sleep, killed by two hooded men"

What? An assassin? or a hitman?

"I see, so by telling me of my fate, you want me to help you change the fate of your family"

"Yes, but first, i would like if you told me how would you do so."

What now.

"What do you mean?"

"What i mean is that while i need your help to change the fate of my parents, you might also change it temporally or change it to another bad fate."

I see what she means, but fate doesn't work like that.

"Fate doesn't really work like that, if you escape it, it will make one for you that aligns with your current will"

It won't, but she probably doesn't know that.

"I see, then, i must inquire, How do you know so much about Fate and it's relation with... gravity?

She said that last part a bit with doubt.

"It's complicated to explain that, i don't have anyway to prove it to you either way, so, unfortunatelly, i can only tell you that the actions of gravity are also the actions of fate."

I can't blame her for doubting, I mean, everyone is used to fate being this uncontrollable, unperceivable force.

But no, it's just plain old gravity.

"Anyways, I think that for me to help you, i have to survive first, so, do you know when will these two events happen."

"Ah, Yes!, Any day until saturday night of this week, those two man will come, while the death of my parents will be in 2 months yet..."

"We're at the end of tuesday, so around 4 days. Was it Day or night when we died?"

She puts her eye to the kaleidoscope.

"It looks like there's moonlight falling on the young man."

"Night then, What place are our bodies in?"

"Some sort of warehouse."

"Do Jack or I have any kind of particular piece of equipment"

"What do you mean?"

"A weapon, A piece of armor, Anything that neither Him or I are wearing right now."

"You're both wearing a hood and black clothing, nothing more."

"Are you seeing my fate or Jack's Fate?"

"I'm seeing Jack's fate, since for some reason, your fate acts weirdly"

I was specting something along the lines of ¨You have no fate¨ not that it acts weirdly.

"What do you mean weirdly?"

"It's completely dark, not darkness as in absence of light, but dark as if there was supposed to be nothing in there."

"So I'm fateless?"

"Perhaps"

"That's cool."

"?"

"Nothing, don't worry about it."

"Sure...?"

"Anyways, this has been informative and pleasant, now I think I'll go make some plans and investigate about the warehouse I'll fight in."

"Wait! You will fight?! I just warned you that you will die against them!"

"It's not as if i can avoid them, They will come for the stone mask that it's in possession of my father, that makes them my enemy"

"Can't you decieve them to think that the stone mask is somewhere else?"

"No, the murders are already appeared in the newspaper so they will come investigate them, they will quickly come to the conclusion that a vampire made them, so they'll know that there will be a mask nearby"

"The murders?! The murders that appeared in the newspaper were made by vampires?!"

Everyone reads the newspaper in this age.

"Well, two vampires, I already killed them though, so no biggie."

I say this with this simple tone, as if i'm talking about something really mundane

I'm not saying that i made those vampires, and she won't figure that out under the pressure of all the new information.

I'm having this slight suspiction that she's surprised, the fact that her eyes are wide and her mouth open are confirming it.

"Are you more surprised at the fact that i killed the vampires or that there were vampires killing people."

"Im surprised that you killed two persons."

She's a bit angry, is it really because i killed? Well, she's 13 still, i guess she's still a kid afterall.

"You shouldn't call them people, they are inherently evil."

"There's no such thing as ¨Inherent evil¨!"

"Yes there is, To vampires, a Human is less than cows or pigs, if i asked one they would say something along the lines of ¨At least the animals don't scream while you eat them¨."

"Thats..."

"Stupid, I know, but that's just how it is."

"...I"

"You don't need to have an answer, it's an intricate thing, and you have never seen a vampire."

"I understand that killing people might seem barbaric or too rash, but it's just how it is."

"Of course, I'm not telling you to be familiar with killing, afterall, not everything is supposed to be about do or be. But you should be familiar with having to resort to extreme means, after all, you do have a stand".

...

"...I'll keep that in mind".

Maybe i went too far? It's not as if she'll run into more people with stands right?

...

...

...

Oh god.

"Anyways, I think you should get going now, it's quite late and you shouldn't make your parents get worried".

"You're right".

"Please let me accompany you to the entrance".

"If you don't mind".

This is more of a formality, her business is already over and i don't need to talk to her, but still.

Jack and I walk with her to the entrance, he leaves, not before i try to talk to him, to no avail.

And we wait for a moment, since she's not stepping up to her carriage.

"..."

What's this? Does she want to ask something?

"Aroa."

"Yes?"

"...Are you sure you can win?"

So that's it? She's worried about her plan failing and her family dying. No problem, i can definitly cheer her.

"Well, If i go in alone, and they get a bit serious it might cost me a bit of trouble..."

"But would you lose?"

Oh my God.

Apolonia, Seriously, Thank you so much for this opportunity.

"Nah, I'd win."

"...I'll trust you, then".

She smiles a bit.

Then she jumps into her carriage and leaves.

"I'm so lonely with all these references..."

That's so sad.

---|---

It's already night but sleep is more of a comodity now.

Now it's time for thinking.

There's 4 days left until the arrival of the two, it might even be less.

How do i get strong quickly?, cheating.

Alright, I've saving up my tickets for situations like this.

I gotten 14 extra tickets for the past months, one yesterday and i had 18 already.

That's 33 tickets, It should be enough, right?

"Scarf sewn from the dried intestinal fibers of the satiporoja beetles".

One tier 3 and two tier 2s.

That's 12 tier 1s.

I can get two scarfs.

One for me and one for Jack then.

Talking about him, I really don't know what to tell him, like, do i just go along normally and train?

I don't think so.

I'll just have to be sincere with him, well as much as i can without saying something too meta.

Nothing i can do about it, so let's focus

My strengths are my attack power, my dawn, and my ravi.

My weaknesses are my defence power, and inexpertice.

These guys will probably have decades of fighting experience and will quickly pick up in the small details about my fighting style.

Nothing i can do about that.

So my objectives will be:

- Hamon armor.

- Hamon skill that can give a decisive blow

- Ranged Hamon Skill.

Although the scarf can conduct hamon and dispel it so armor isn't a priority.

Anyways, that for tomorrow.

I have to sleep and get ready.

The following days will have consequences.

Heavy consequences.
