At the eyes of the british society, my options were rather limited.
I mean that as a normal person, my future would probably be something along the lines of :
Go to school -> Higher Education -> Get decent amounts of money -> Marry -> Kids -> Die
Not very specific but that would be the gist of it.
I mean, there really aren't any other options, although i could go into the military, WW1 would begin 30 years later and I would be dragged in by an emergency call.
To put you in context, High class would be nobles and such, middle would be the bourgeoisie, middle-low would be medics and lawyers.
While, The Joestars, were Middle high, people like bankers, businessmen and financiers.
Now, why would i be telling you all of this?.
Well, It all goes back a few days ago, in one of my dinners with my father.
--|--
We were in the dinner hall, Jojo wasn't around, he was probably somewhere else, as he finished quickly and went to spend time with his lover.
"Aroa, What are your plans for the future?"
Even though George asked me that, He looked at me like he was expecting me to not have an answer.
I mean, could you blame me?
I have been laser focused on training Hamon, then getting Jack strong enough to go against his fate(and help me go against mine too), then any leftover time would be spent trying to figure uses of hamon, discovering propeties of my Ravi, testing my hamon, reviewing plans for the future, trying to not care about canon, even though i've already destroyed it, etc, etc, etc...
In his eyes my reasons for not having an answer would be because my motives were simple until recently, survive in the streets of england, which he knows is not the best situation for anyone really, but specially for a kid.
"Follow me son, let's have a chat".
As we left the dinner table, leaving the servants behind to take the plates, he took me to his office and told me to sat down in the chair facing the desk, while he sat behind it.
His office was in the third floor of the mansion, he sat on his chair with his back facing a long vertical window that let him see the entrance of the mansion perfectly.
The right wall was completely taken by a shelve filled with books, papers and other little things.
The left wall had a small table with a map of certain countries, and one bigger of Africa.
On his desk there were various papers, and in it's left corner there was an earth globe.
"Son", He started.
"I have already asked you this, but do you have a plan for your future?"
Is this a trick question? Or is he telling me to rethink my answer? Perhaps it's an ¨I'm giving you another opportunity, don't fail me¨
I think I know where he's getting at.
Something I noticed is that George thinks a bit more of me than you would think of a 13 year old, I mean that he doesn't talk as childishly to me as he does to Jojo, he puts more emphasis on my lessons that he does to Jojo's, and overall, I think he noticed that I'm way more mature than my age, and by extension, more mature than his oldest.
Seeing that, he probably made expectations of me, since even if we're on an age of peace, it's the calm before the storm, and as an experienced businessman, he can definitly feel it.
That the peace we so merrilly enjoy is the prelude to the first world war.
He probably wants to have this talk so i don't do anything stupid and go die in it, not that he knows the first world war is going to happen, but he probably suspects that England will clash with the other potencies of the world, sooner or later.
Thankfully it will happen later, but i bet he's thinking that it's best to nip any idea of patriotism i can get before it gets any chance to bloom.
Even if everything I'm thinking it's incorrect, I proabably appear to be a talented youth with no precise ambitions in the world.
Since most of the plans i have revolve around things that people wouldn't know or even begin to imagine, He thinks i don't have any.
So I'm getting the "Your old enough to think about your future" talk?
Seems like a bit of a bother, anyways, back to the question...
"No, I don't have any big plan, My only purpose at my age is to leave a healthy and long life, finishing my studies and leave a quiet life not worried about my future"
Did that sound a bit like Kira? Perhaps, but i'm a bit serious about living a peacefull life, even if I become a god with heaven attained, ultimate life form, requiem and whatever other power up jojo's can give me, I won't go suddenly go world domination and usurp the throne or stage revolutions across all continents, liberating them of whatever royal family is controlling them.
While I certainly won't be the king of the world, i won't be a random salary man either, after all, fate is still a constant in my life, so I know that my pull will attract others.
Anyhow, My father didn't look all that shocked by my answer.
"I suspected as much, then, you would do good if you started following me in my occupation"
Huh?
This took my off a little.
In the manga, Jonathan becomes an archeologist and Dio a lawyer.
None of his sons become a businessman like George, also I said "Businessman", But George's position isn't so simple that it can be descrived by that one word.
More on that later.
Apparently my face showed my surprise, or rather, it showed skepticism at his words, I mean, you would act the same way if someone on George's level wanted to make you his successor, or at least hinted at that.
"I..."
"You don't have to accept, of course, i would still love you like my son, and you would grow up to be a respectable gentleman alongside your brother...
But.
If you were to accept, you will have to carry on this household through it's hardest times ever, granted, you will have time to prepare, but it would be a huge burden nontheless."
I'll have to think through this.
"Naturally I don't expect you to answer soon, so I will give you the time you have before school to think this through."
"And if you think that you shouldn't take my offer so that you can leave it to Jojo, then you should know better."
"The reason why I raised him to be a gentleman, is because I never meant to pass down my position to anyone, but now a fine candidate appeared, one more mature than others his age, one smarter than others his age, one stronger than others his age... One Better Than Anyone Could Be."
"You have enough time to think and investigate about this."
"Now, that i've said everything you need to know, anything you would like to say?"
I was speechless.
At when I woke up this morning i did not expect this.
I knew that his position is important, but i didn't thought it was THIS important.
Or at least that what he's making me think.
By the way he talks he might be giving me the throne or something like that.
Have you ever read scenes of the mc getting the sword that his ancestors used to vanish the evil demon king?
Yeah, George was being even more intense than anything like that.
"No, I would only like to rest and think about this more"
It's the only thing i could say now because i was kinda intimidated.
Don't get me wrong, I could best him in terms of raw strenght, but think how you would never hit your mother, even if you were a million times stronger than her.
Obviously, that same concepts applies here, but even more since the sheer might and aura radiating from him makes me think I'm in the presence of Vito Corleone.
Like I'm comitting a sin just by being here, my unworthy self sitting across his desk.
"Very well, Dismissed" Is what he says.
I stand up and look forward.
He's not looking at me, he's looking outside the window.
I know it's a power play but it still makes me a bit nervous.

Now, you probably didn't understand that exchange right?
I mean, you're thinking of the gentle George that appeared in part 1.
One that trusted in Jonathan as much as he trusted in his adopted son.
And apparently he also trusts in me.
I don't know why is this going on.
But I sure as hell won't be sitting here in front of such an oportunity.
I made my mind of changing fate and taking on the Joestar mantle with it's consecuences when I killed Dio.
One or two more changes won't destroy the world right?
I'm not asking, but hoping.
Since things will change a looooooot with my apperance in the social circles of the early 20th century.
And I can't wait to see what things I'll achieve.
