Rivana's eyes widened, and so did Azrael's, who was not expecting it at all. His midnight eyes bore into hers, causing Rivana's body to burn hotly. She abruptly moved back, breaking the fiery contact.
"I-I am sorry, I didn't—" It was too embarrassing to explain, so Rivana shut her mouth, deciding to flee. But before she could escape, Azrael grabbed her hand and pulled her back.
A yelp left Rivana's mouth, her heart skipping a wild beat as she fell on the couch. Azrael loomed over her, his hand still holding her wrist while the other rested on the handrest, locking her in place.
"You better explain yourself, baby girl," Azrael demanded, his eyes dark with an emotion Rivana could easily understand.
"I-I was just trying to ki…"
Azrael smirked at her flushed expression. His thumb caressed her wrist, causing a spark of electricity to hit Rivana at his touch, traveling all over her body. Leaning even closer, he asked innocently, "Trying to what? Kiss me?"
