In a desert, with Dunes the size of houses is a valley. This valley is where this story begins. Inside this valley is an oasis, in fact the first and only oasis.
In the safety of the valley cradled by mother earth, gazed upon by ra, protected by Shi and the angelic warriors sits a village. The village was made by Shi's own hands, for Ra's chosen people.
Shi and his warriors freed Ra's true believers from there oppressive owners who had taken them for slavery. In the middle of the night Shi and his warriors came to the huts and guided them to the promise land. After they left and were out of sight Shi set the town ablaze, freeing Ra's chosen people forever.
Once the people arrived to their paradise they were safe for the moment at least. For years Shi protected the village and eventually he became seen as an equal instead of a guardian. With no major threats to the village Shi became overcome with boredom.
Ra's wise ever watchful eye was the eye in the sky watching over the land, seeing all. Shi became tired of being forgotten, he decides to do something to make them remember him.
As shi made is daily rounds he saw a low level beast sliding down the walls with his claws. "Finally an opponent" at first shi thought it was a worthy sparring partner but upon further inspection he saw it was nothing more then a large mongoose infused with the devils own hand.
Shi quickly kicked the mongoose away and decided to do something. Something Ra told him to only do in the most dire emergency situation. Shi decided to release the demons from underground.
At first he began with a little, then a lot as the fights got harder and harder they dragged on longer and longer. As he got more and more carried away he began summoning more demons until he began feeling overcome.
As hard as he tried he could do nothing he was overwhelmed. That's when he realized not only were the demons summoning around him, They were being released in the valley. In that moment Ra looked upon him and immediately what was given to him was taken away. When he gazed into the eye of Ra his began to burn and eventually turn red hot and begin melting. The gigantic sword of fire Ra had given him relinquished itself from Shi's hand and drove it self deep into the ground.
From that day on he was doomed to walk the hot desert as an old, blind, powerless, weaponless, weak man. But the worst punishment of all he had no purpose, no one to fight, nothing to gaurd.
From that day on the people of the valley were on there own. With no protection, no knowledge of how to survive the empire fell. The angelic warriors rebeled just like Shi had, as the saying goes an army without a leader is no army. They went off by themselves trying to find demons to fight. They found what they were looking for inside and around a huge pillar or tower.
The demons here were strong and with no more help from Ra they all perished to the creatures. Ra allowed one to come back, as I said Ra loves a good redemption story. Ra buried the gigantic tower deep in the earth with the warrior at the base. Buried in the basement of the tower the warrior began to decay and without any sustanince he became nothing but a shell of a being.
Looking but never seeing, listening but never hearing, there he stayed deep in thought, forever stuck in his mind.
