Chapter 1 - Bizarre Premonitions

Dust all around, not unusual for this place, everything looks in it's place except for one thing. Me. Except it's not me, I'm looking through my eyes and yet I know there not mine.

The world I find my self in is a dirty, dusty, barren land. Dunes as far as the eye can see. In the distance the sun sets on a waste land, barely peeking out from behind a humongous tower.

The tower itself was made mostly of dark, midnight colored stone. The once proud building is now covered in a layer of beige grime and filth. The windows glossy and hardly transparent. It was partially buried, who knows how tall it really is.

As my gaze naturally scans over the abiss it lands on the desert floor. Only then do I realize that I am floating stories off the ground.

At the peak of the tower sits a boy. No older then me (around 14). The more I gaze at the boy the more familiar he looks, I feel myself slowly gravitate towards him.

As I get closer my hand raises by it's own accord, and an ever changing flame arises. It's luminescent splender shifting to every color of the rainbow. As the light shines on him I see his eyes are empty and all white. Although the light is now showing brightly on him his body remained hidden and black, like a shadow. If he was wearing any clothing couldn't tell because it to appeared as a shadow.

The boy turned his head towardd me slowly. He spoke in a strange tongue I didn't understand and as his gaze turned to the bright sun he began to stand up.

Though I couldn't tell his skin color and I couldn't see his eyes I knew what he was feeling was pain. And as he took a step closer to the edge I knew what was about to happen.

The few seconds between when he jumped and when he hit the ground felt like an eternity. As he plummeted his eyes met mine, he looked at me with a hateful stare as if I had wronged him.

Though I tried to stop him not only was I to late, but I was not allowed to. I tried to raise my hands, nothing happened, I tried to scream nothing happened. He landed on the ground with a thud.
