Synopsis

Chapter 1 - Elara and the bully.

A small village between mountains prospering on its own. Everyone in the village had the same features. Dirty blonde hair, blue eyes and heavily built bodies. The villagers were all the same but at the same time different. Apart from one girl who was short with a height of five feet, green eyes that glowed in the dark. Black long thick hair, her body was one with soft curves emphasising on her femininity.

She had a complete resemblance of her mother who was an outsider shunned by all. Elara lived with her father after her mother was mercilessly killed after being accused of drowning the daughter of one of the village elders.

Coming from a humble family, Elara was used to the hardships of life. Her only support was her father.

" Elara! Elara ! " her father shouted from the living room but as usual the girl was deeply immersed in her dreams.

"Elara , you need to wake up, you sleepyhead, You will be late for school ."

School! Elara wile up startled all her sleepiness suddenly vanished. Elara liked school, hell no ! she loved school. She always liked solving the maths questions especially her favourite the algebra. She loved learning about their origin, a sad story but it still was what had them to exist. And finally she loved the physical training.

A smile formed on her beautiful sweet face as she thought of school and suddenly the realisation hit her. Kicking the blanket away she rushed towards the bathroom. On opening the worn wooden door a creak sound was heard as the old rusty hinges, that acted as the only support for the door, protested against the intrusion. The old dimly lit bathroom had nothing but the basic necessities for a simple girl like her. A cracked mirror wall, at least she could still see her reflection on it. A rusting sink , a toilet and close to it was a bucket of water and a metal mug. a bar of soap and a small bottle of shampoo, it was almost over but for Elara it was quarter full. Despite its humble appearance the bathroom served its purpose.

Getting ready for school never took time for Elara, as it was her closet barely had clothes in it, hence she had to choose from the little she had. Elara was never one to care about beauty and all but yet how she represented herself was important. She decided on a pair of faded deep blue trouser, a white shirt though clean, it was worn thin at its collar. Her shoes scuffed and patched, the soles worn smoothly. On her back was a worn backpack with the straps frayed, a testament to the years of use. Tied her hair in a braid and she was ready for the day.

Getting out from her bedroom finally!

She did not get any smell of breakfast and she knew better than to ask her father. She never liked the look of guilt and defeat on her father's blue eyes. The only eyes that looked at her with love.

Despite the hunger she had, she put on a smile on her face.

" Good morning dad." greeted her old father. He was a man in his late sixties, with pepper salt messy hair , wrinkled face that still held a smile on it.

" Good morning princess." he replied warmly as adoration lit his eyes.

They both silently settled comfortably on her father's bicycle and had a silent journey to her school.

Elara took in the morning fresh breeze and the melodious sing-songy chirping of the birds.

 Unknown's pov

"Urrgh! " he grunted as the sun rays hit his eyes. It's a Monday! He hated Mondays, he hated school! what he hated the most was the look of disappointment and pain in Elara's green eyes.

He used every opportunity just go be close to her.

Elara! The thought of her smiling and laughing when she's with her father. Yeah yeah, i stalked her during the weekends. No school, so it means i don't get a chance to see her. So i did the one thing i would not believe i would do, i stalk her!

The thought of her gave me a head start. I had to rush to school so as to see her again.

" Is the breakfast ready?" I mind linked my cook. I could mind link at an earlier age due to the perks of having beta's bloodline.

It was 2 months to my eighteenth birthday, the day when one would get their wolf, mate and their gifts.

As for me, i had my gifts before the day and it was nothing normal, i told my father about it and he asked me to keep it low-key.

" It's ready sir." the cook replied back through the mind link. i rushed to the bathroom took a quick shower and got ready for the day.

My cook knew the drill, my breakfast would be packed in two containers. One mine and the other Elara's. She never says it ,but strangely enough i could sense whatever she feels and most of the time it's pain, fear and hunger. The silly girl normally skips her breakfast despite the hunger in her, i just never understood why she does that.

Well i had a secret no one knows, i think i have a thing for her. i found peace in her smile which was rarely there. I cannot just go confess it , i was the beta's son and she being a hybrid was shunned by all. I don't like the rule but whatever our alpha says is final.

I'm her bully and the same time I'm her surviour.

I bully her because everyone does it and maybe to lie to the people and myself that I don't like her but again i don't like it when someone else does it. Make her cry, i make you bleed.

 Elara's pov

Upon reaching the school, i gave my father a quick hug before finally getting into the only school in our pack.

Walking down the school corridors i could feel eyes on me.

I could hear giggles and some heart breaking remarks as i walked by.

This was not new to me but i could just not get used to it, the pain feels new every single day.

As usual i act brave and unbothered, but deep down it made my feet wobbly but my strong resolve helped me walk forward.

Noticing the crowd around my locker and i knew it was the same old prank. Painting my locker with insults was her favourite game, it's just that this time she went further ahead to smear some shit on my locker. I saw the dirt

Without a word she directly moved towards the janitor's closet to take whatever equipment she needed to clear the mess
