"Damn it, you bastard!"
Shimura Danzo glared at the sight of his subordinates falling at Uchiha Mirai's hands, his rage almost making him cough up blood.
For decades, he had wielded power in Konoha, and never had he been subjected to such humiliation.
Uchiha Mirai was insufferably arrogant, completely disregarding Danzo's authority.
"Danzo-sama, should we charge in and take him out?" one of his subordinates suggested from behind.
Danzo's response was a resounding slap across the man's face.
"Shut up, idiot!"
Charge in and kill Uchiha Mirai?
If it were that easy, would Danzo be seething with frustration in the first place?
After pondering for a while, Danzo gritted his teeth and growled, "That cursed Uchiha brat... I'll—"
"Hiruzen, that's how it all went down."
"Uchiha Mirai has become too arrogant. If this continues, the authority we worked so hard to build will crumble entirely," Danzo lamented bitterly to Sarutobi Hiruzen, his face a mask of grievance.
Seeing his usually domineering old friend reduced to this state, Hiruzen's own anger began to simmer.
"Danzo, I'll personally draft an order. You will deliver it to Uchiha Fugaku, stripping Uchiha Mirai of his position as the Konoha Police Force Leader," Hiruzen declared.
It was clear to him now—if Uchiha Mirai remained in that position, he would only continue to cause chaos. Even if they had to wait for his Mangekyo Sharingan to deteriorate, they could not allow him to hold power any longer.
Hiruzen quickly penned the order and handed it to an ANBU. As he finished, a glint of murderous intent flashed in his eyes.
He refused to believe that as the Hokage, he could be at the mercy of a mere Uchiha brat.
Stepping out of the Konoha Police Force headquarters, Mirai stretched lazily.
Handling administrative affairs was truly exhausting. One problem followed another, endlessly.
When he eventually took control of Konoha, he resolved to establish a competent team of secretaries to handle paperwork, leaving him free to simply oversee matters.
As he strolled along, lost in thought, a shout suddenly came from behind him.
Turning around, Mirai spotted two striking young women running toward him.
One of them was Mitarashi Anko.
The other had long purple hair, delicate features, and skin as pale as fresh snow—an extraordinary beauty.
The two quickly reached him as Mirai studied them.
Gasping for breath, Anko panted, "Finally found you, you scumbag senpai!"
Mirai's eyebrow twitched at the nickname. "Why am I suddenly a scumbag?"
Rolling her eyes, Anko huffed, "Giving rare gifts to girls left and right, making Kurenai-senpai and Rin-senpai fight over you—if that's not scummy, then what is?"
Mirai reached out to ruffle Anko's hair. "What does a little brat like you know? Stop talking nonsense."
Anko put her hands on her hips. "I'm not a brat anymore! Don't forget, I was the one who bailed you out last time."
"You owe me a favor!"
"And," Anko added in a serious tone, "stop handing out precious things like gold sand kunai to random girls. Kurenai-senpai and Rin-senpai are great people—you better cherish them."
"Anko, you're nagging like an old lady," Mirai teased.
"Excuse me?!"
"Here, take this," he said, holding out another gold sand kunai.
"Eh?" Anko froze, then quickly shook her head. "N-no, that's not what I meant! I was just standing up for Kurenai-senpai and Rin-senpai, that's all. Don't get the wrong idea, you scumbag senpai!"
Mirai waved the kunai in front of her and smiled. "So, do you want it or not?"
Biting her lip, Anko hesitated before finally taking the kunai with a blush.
"Hmph! I'm only holding onto it to stop you from giving it to someone else. Don't get any weird ideas, you scumbag senpai..."
"Yeah, yeah." Mirai chuckled and turned to the other girl. "Anko, is this your friend?"
Anko, snapping out of her embarrassment, quickly introduced her. "She's Uzuki Yugao, my classmate from the Academy."
"Yugao, this is Uchiha Mirai-senpai."
"Pleased to meet you, Mirai-senpai," Yugao greeted with a polite bow.
Mirai raised an eyebrow. No wonder she looked familiar—it was Uzuki Yugao.
"Scu—Mirai-senpai, Yugao has admired you for a long time. When she heard how you've looked after me, she begged me to bring her along to meet you," Anko explained nervously.
"She's the only one who stuck by me after... that man defected, so please don't be mad at her."
Anko clearly feared Mirai's reaction, but her worries were misplaced. Mirai wasn't the type to get angry over something so trivial—especially not with someone who seemed to care for Anko.
"Yugao, right?" Mirai smiled, beckoning her closer. "What are you good at?"
"I specialize in Konoha kenjutsu," Yugao replied, her voice tinged with shyness.
Mirai nodded thoughtfully. "Kenjutsu, huh? Not bad. I dabble in it too. If we get the chance, I could give you some pointers."
Yugao's eyes widened in surprise. "Really, Mirai-senpai? You mean it?"
Her disbelief was understandable. In the ninja world, it was rare for anyone—let alone a powerful figure like Mirai—to offer guidance without reason.
For someone as renowned as Mirai, who had slain Kage-level opponents and led Konoha to victory in the Third Shinobi War, even a few words of advice could be invaluable.
"It's no big deal."
Noticing Anko's suspicious gaze, Mirai added, "Anko is under my care now, and since you're her only close friend, consider this my way of thanking you."
As Anko blushed and stole a shy smile, Mirai changed the subject. "Let's go. My treat—dango on me."
"Yay! Mirai-senpai, you're the best!" Anko cheered.
