Chapter 92 - Chapter 92: The Police Force Captain

Half a month later.

Mirai led the Fire Country's Eastern Front shinobi back to Konohagakure.

Unlike previous returns, this time Mirai was undoubtedly the main focus of attention.

Cheers erupted throughout the village as his name was shouted with unbridled enthusiasm. Every gaze followed him, filled with admiration and gratitude.

Having fought relentlessly on the frontlines, saving countless Konoha shinobi, Mirai had become a hero in the eyes of every villager.

Though Mirai himself seemed unaffected by the attention, the Uchiha clan members walking beside him were visibly elated, their chests puffed out with pride.

That pride surged through every clan member's heart.

This was the respect the founding clan of Konoha deserved!

As they walked through the village gate, Fugaku stepped forward, holding out a scroll with the Hokage's seal.

"The Third Hokage's direct order. Come with me to report to Lord Hokage," Fugaku said.

Mirai shook his head. "I'm exhausted. I'm going to rest."

Fugaku's expression darkened as Mirai turned to leave. He gritted his teeth and called out,

"Do you really intend to push the Uchiha clan into the flames?"

"The Hokage's orders aren't something you can just disobey!"

Mirai scoffed, turning back with an icy glare. "Fugaku, the one pushing the Uchiha into the fire is you."

"What I intend to do, not even the Hokage can interfere with."

"Don't show yourself in front of me again. Otherwise, I'll kill you."

The sheer force of Mirai's Sharingan made Fugaku instinctively step back, cold sweat dripping down his back.

He had no doubt that Mirai meant every word.

This man played by no one's rules but his own.

Continuing to push the issue would likely cost him his life.

"Oh, and remember to tell Hiruzen Sarutobi everything I just said. Then pay close attention to his reaction. Watch how your fawning, servile master responds."

With a burst of dark laughter, Mirai turned and walked away.

...

In the Uchiha Clan Compound

Shisui gazed at Mirai with eyes brimming with admiration.

"Mirai, it must have been exhausting these past weeks," Shisui said earnestly.

Mirai smiled. "Shisui, tell me, what have you learned from all this?"

Without hesitation, Shisui replied, "Strength is the foundation of everything."

"Oh?" Mirai's expression grew intrigued. "Explain."

Shisui thought for a moment before speaking.

"No matter what goal you wish to achieve, strength is indispensable. I used to believe that expressing goodwill was enough to bridge misunderstandings between people, but now I see how naive that was."

"As long as our Uchiha clan possesses overwhelming power, the conflicts between the village and our clan will naturally resolve themselves."

Mirai nodded approvingly. "Shisui, I'm glad you've come to this realization. But it's not enough."

"Remember this... Strength brings war, but it also brings peace.

"The goodwill of the weak is ignored, while the charity of the strong is met with gratitude.

"The same applies to the village's issues with the Uchiha.

"If we can transform Konoha's Uchiha into Uchiha's Konoha, no villager will dare to oppose us anymore."

Shisui's eyes lit up as he finished the thought aloud.

"And at that point, anyone who opposes us will be the enemy of the village itself!"

Mirai smiled faintly. "Enemies should be dealt with mercilessly. Remember that."

As Mirai observed Shisui's growing resolve, he couldn't help but feel a touch of sentimentality.

"Shisui, you've changed a lot in such a short time."

"For the clan and the village, everything must change," Shisui replied firmly.

Shisui admired Mirai deeply. He had found a new path—one he'd never considered before.

Previously, he had believed that if the village couldn't accept the Uchiha, then no amount of effort would matter.

But now, he saw a different possibility. If the Uchiha could take control of the village, the conflicts would vanish.

After all, every Uchiha loved the village they had built. Even under Uchiha leadership, Konoha would thrive.

But to make that dream a reality, they needed power.

And Mirai had that power.

The conversation stretched late into the night.

Not long after Shisui left, the sound of knocking came from outside.

"Mirai-sama, the clan leader requests your presence," Uchiha called.

Mirai stepped out of his room. "Did he say what it's about?"

Tetsuka hesitated before lowering his voice. "It seems... the clan leader's health is failing."

Mirai's expression hardened. "I see. Lead the way."

...

In the Uchiha Clan Head's Room

The space was filled with prominent members of the Uchiha clan—Fugaku, Hachida, Inaho, Yakumi, and even several elderly veterans stood solemnly by the bed.

Uchiha Tajima sat weakly on the edge of his bed, his once-imposing frame now gaunt and frail.

"Mirai, I'm sorry to disturb your rest at this late hour," Tajima said, forcing a faint smile.

"Clan Leader... You..." Mirai frowned. Tajima's condition had worsened considerably since their last meeting. His vitality was all but gone.

Tajima let out a sigh. "I had hoped to wait until tomorrow to say my final words, but it seems my body won't allow it."

"Mirai, you are the hope of the Uchiha. You've mended relations with the village, and at such a young age, you've awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan. Your potential is limitless."

"But remember, the Mangekyō exacts a heavy price. Use it wisely."

"With my final breath, I appoint Fugaku as the clan leader and you, Mirai, as the Leader of the Konoha Police Force."

"Who objects?" Tajima's voice, though faint, carried authority.

No one spoke.

"Then it's decided." Tajima coughed violently, his gaze falling on Fugaku.

"Fugaku... Don't be too stubborn. That is my final advice..."

And with that, Tajima's head fell back onto his pillow.
