In the camp, a group of Uchiha clansmen gathered, their eyes fixed reverently on Mirai. Smiles of genuine admiration lit up their faces as whispers filled the air.
"Mirai, I never expected the reinforcements to include you. This is such a surprise!"
"Indeed! With Mirai here, there's no doubt we can defeat those Kirigakure scoundrels."
"I heard Mirai has awakened the legendary Mangekyō Sharingan. Truly, you are the pride of the Uchiha!"
The feats of Uchiha Mirai on the Sunagakure battlefield had already spread among the clan.
Everyone knew that this young shinobi before them had unlocked the fabled Mangekyō Sharingan.
But that wasn't all.
Using the power of his Mangekyō Sharingan, Mirai had displayed near-godlike strength in Sunagakure, routing their forces and bringing glory to the Uchiha name. His accomplishments—defeating the Raikage, taking down the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist, killing Rasa, and awakening the Mangekyō Sharingan—filled the Uchiha with renewed hope.
Perhaps, the time had come for the Uchiha clan to reclaim their former glory.
After greeting his clansmen, Mirai headed into the meeting hall. Despite their usual stoicism, he was struck by their rare enthusiasm.
Just as he took his seat, the doors burst open. A tall figure strode in, his expression stormy.
"Mirai!"
Mirai looked up, his tone calm. "Fugaku, you don't seem very happy to see me."
Fugaku's scowl deepened as he crossed his arms.
"You are nothing but a disgrace to the Uchiha clan. Do you honestly expect me to welcome you?"
"Oh?" Mirai raised an eyebrow, genuinely curious. "And how exactly have I become a disgrace to our clan?"
Fugaku's voice rose in anger. "If you hadn't killed the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist, would Kirigakure have declared war on Konoha? And if not for that war, would the Third Hokage have used it as an excuse to send us to the front lines?"
His frustration boiled over as he continued,
"Your reckless actions have made the village more wary of us! You've endangered the Uchiha!"
Mirai studied Fugaku for a moment before letting out a sigh. "Fugaku, you really are pathetic."
"What did you just say?" Fugaku froze, disbelief flashing across his face.
"I said," Mirai's tone turned icy, "you're pathetic."
"You bastard!" Fugaku roared, launching a punch at Mirai.
Before the blow could connect, Fugaku's stomach clenched painfully, forcing him to double over. In the next instant, Mirai grabbed him and slammed him to the ground with a resounding thud.
The noise drew several guards to the room, but they hesitated at the sight of Fugaku sprawled on the floor and Mirai sitting calmly nearby.
"What's going on?"
"Leave," Mirai ordered, his Mangekyō Sharingan flaring ominously. "Unless you want to disobey me."
The guards exchanged uneasy glances before bowing and retreating.
Once they were alone, Mirai turned back to Fugaku, his gaze sharp.
"You've awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan, haven't you?"
Fugaku's eyes widened. "How do you know?"
"It's obvious." Mirai's voice was flat. "After awakening, the Sharingan can't be deactivated for a time. It wasn't hard to figure out."
Fugaku stiffened, realizing his secret was exposed.
Mirai softened his tone slightly. "Fugaku, showing weakness to Konoha's leadership will only lead the Uchiha to ruin. They've always feared our power and sought to suppress us."
"Do you think groveling before Sarutobi Hiruzen will change that? Only by showing our strength can we make them think twice about acting against us."
Fugaku rose slowly, his expression grim.
"You're wrong. If the Uchiha act too independently, we'll provoke a crackdown. Our clan doesn't have the strength to oppose the entire village."
"My eyes," he continued, "allow me to see the future. And that future is bleak if we don't tread carefully."
Mirai shook his head. "Most of the village's clans are opportunistic cowards. They'll side with whoever holds the advantage. The power of my Mangekyō Sharingan is enough to make them hesitate, and I know how to bring them to our side."
Fugaku let out a bitter laugh. "You're naive. Using the Mangekyō Sharingan carelessly will cost you your sight. Accept reality before you drag the Uchiha down further."
Mirai's patience snapped. He looked at Fugaku with disappointment before turning toward the door.
"Cicadas that live only in summer will never understand the harsh chill of winter," he said, his voice cutting.
"Under my leadership, the Uchiha will crush anyone in our way. Play your role as a mascot, Fugaku. And don't get in my way."
Mirai paused, his tone dropping to a deadly whisper. "Defy the heavens, and there's a slim chance of survival. Defy me, and death is certain."
He slammed the door behind him.
Outside, the gathered shinobi looked at him expectantly. Mirai raised a hand, his gaze resolute.
"You've all worked hard. From this day forward, the tide turns."
Cheers erupted from the crowd. After enduring Kirigakure's aggression for so long, the idea of striking back ignited a spark of hope in their hearts.
As the system's notification echoed in his mind, Mirai smirked.
[Ding! Congratulations, Host! Reward Acquired: Amaterasu!]
Amaterasu, huh? Mirai thought. Not a bad addition to my arsenal.
Even Fugaku had his uses after all.
