Chapter 237 - Chapter 237: Did I Just Get Played?

Konoha Village.

It was early morning, and Tsunade walked out of the casino, her face clouded with frustration. Without a second thought, she headed straight to a nearby izakaya.

Trailing behind her in silence was Shizune, who cradled Tonton in her arms.

Soon, the two arrived at a familiar tavern. After ordering five servings of sake and two dishes, they sat opposite each other.

Tsunade downed the sake in her cup in one go and grabbed a piece of simmered pork belly, savoring its tender, flavorful layers.

"Ah~"

A look of satisfaction washed over her face. "Now this is what life should feel like."

Shizune, on the other hand, frowned in worry. "Tsunade-sama, last night, you lost another million ryō…"

Tsunade's brows furrowed in irritation.

"Why bring that up? Such bad luck."

Shizune slapped her hands on the table, her voice rising in exasperation.

"Since we returned to Konoha, you've lost tens of millions! How can you even eat so calmly?"

Tsunade shrugged nonchalantly. "Money's no big deal. If I run out, I'll just borrow some more from Uchiha Mirai."

Shizune's face turned grave. "That's exactly why I'm worried, Tsunade-sama. We're talking about Mirai-sama here. You're not planning to… default on him again, are you?"

Tsunade snorted. "And what if I am? It's not like that guy's a saint."

Shizune took a deep breath and said seriously, "Tsunade-sama, forgive my boldness, but I must speak up. Mirai-sama is the hero who saved the village, a powerful figure who brings hope for peace in the shinobi world. He even returned the Senju ancestral home to you and loaned you all that money out of his own pocket. How can you talk about him like that?"

Tsunade scoffed, her voice faltering.

'Who said I borrowed it? That bastard's money… it's… it's mine through…' Her voice trailed off, and her face reddened as she took another swig of sake.

She muttered under her breath, her irritation barely contained. Mirai may be a perverted little brat who'll do anything to take advantage of women, but in everyone else's eyes, he's some righteous hero. The most annoying part was that she couldn't say any of it out loud.

Shizune blinked in confusion. "Tsunade-sama, what are you trying to say?"

Tsunade waved her hand dismissively. "Forget it. Just don't worry about the money. Mirai and I have an… arrangement. It's mutually beneficial." She took another sip of sake, her tone defiant. "If I don't spend his money, I'd be doing myself a disservice!"

Seeing Tsunade upset, Shizune didn't press further. But in her heart, she resolved to talk to Uchiha Mirai directly. She had to ask him to go easy on Tsunade-sama. That was the least she could do.

After finishing all the sake, Tsunade stood up and said, "I've got something to do. You head home first."

"Yawn~"

"Really, Tsunade? What are you doing here so early in the morning?"

...

Uchiha Mirai stepped out of his room, wearing a casual sleep robe. Having been away from Konoha for a while, he'd spent the previous night relaxing with Mikoto and Konan. He'd hoped to sleep in, but Tsunade had shown up uninvited.

Seeing Mirai's relaxed demeanor, Tsunade declared boldly, "I'm broke. Give me money."

Mirai couldn't help but laugh. "Tsunade, you're getting pretty good at this. It's almost like a wife asking her husband for pocket money."

A faint blush appeared on Tsunade's face. "What nonsense are you spouting?"

Mirai grinned and shook his head. "You know, Tsunade, we've pretty much done everything except the final step. Why don't you just become my woman? Then you can spend my money freely without all this hassle."

Tsunade lowered her head, her voice soft. "Keep dreaming!"

Mirai chuckled but didn't let up. In an instant, he disappeared, reappearing behind Tsunade and marking her with the Four Symbols Seal and the Eight Trigrams Seal.

Before she could react, thick vines sprouted and coiled around her, binding her tightly.

"Mirai! What the hell are you doing?!"

"You'll find out soon enough."

After everything they'd been through together, Tsunade's resistance had grown weaker and weaker. Mirai, on the other hand, had run out of patience.

Some flowers are meant to be picked at their most radiant; waiting too long only leads to regret.

After the storm, the rainbow emerges.

Tsunade sat on the bed, glaring daggers at Mirai. Her expression was as fierce as a tigress ready to pounce, but Mirai remained unfazed, a satisfied smile on his face as he admired her beauty.

For a man, conquering a woman like Tsunade was the ultimate triumph.

"If I could beat you in a fight, I'd kill you right now."

"Oh? A couple of punches, is it?"

"Hmph!"

Tsunade rolled her eyes, but deep down, she'd already accepted reality.

She'd known this day was coming. With no way to win or escape, she had resigned herself to her fate.

And honestly, with Mirai's looks and strength, it wasn't like she'd come out on the losing end.

Mirai gently pinched her cheek, his tone soft. "Tsunade, later, go meet Mikoto and Konan. From now on, you can spend as much money as you want."

Tsunade huffed. "Spend freely, huh? You sure about that?"

"You're not worried I'll bankrupt you?"

Mirai burst into laughter. "Even if you threw money around all day, you couldn't outspend what I earn. Money's just a boring number to me. Go ahead and spend it—don't hold back."

Hearing such a bold statement, even Tsunade felt a flutter of happiness.

What more could a woman want than to hear, "You can have it all"?

Tsunade couldn't help but smile.

"Alright, I've got some things to take care of. Go find Mikoto and Konan and let them know what's going on."

With that, Mirai vanished, leaving Tsunade to find Mikoto and Konan in the backyard.

The two women greeted her warmly, pulling her into a hug.

"Tsunade, we're family now. If you need anything, just let us know," Mikoto said with a smile.

Tsunade blinked. "You two… already know?"

Mikoto and Konan giggled. "You and Mirai were so loud last night, how could we not?"

Tsunade's face turned beet red, cursing Mirai silently.

After calming herself, she hesitated before saying,

"Mikoto, Konan… I don't really have any expensive hobbies, but I do like gambling. And, well, I always lose. A lot. Every day. You won't mind, will you?"

Mikoto and Konan exchanged amused glances and shook their heads.

"Tsunade, you can spend as much as you want. We won't mind at all."

"Besides," Konan added with a sly smile, "those casinos you love? They're all Mirai's properties. Even if you lose, the money just goes back into the family."

Tsunade froze.

The casinos… belonged to Mirai?

So, all this time…

She had been getting played for free?!
