Chapter 218 - Chapter 218: Mifune Falls!

When Uchiha Mirai appeared, the previously lively discussion about uniting forces to attack Konoha came to an abrupt halt. The room's atmosphere turned heavy as every face grew serious.

A was the first to react, his short temper flaring instantly. Without hesitation, he activated his Lightning Release Chakra Mode the moment he saw Mirai.

"How dare you show your face here? Perfect—time to settle this once and for all!"

With a roar, A charged forward like a bolt of blue lightning, aiming directly for Mirai.

But in the next instant, his body flew back even faster than it had advanced.

Boom!

A crashed into the ground, leaving a massive crater in his wake.

Everyone in the room was stunned, their mouths agape in disbelief. They were well aware of the Raikage's strength, yet Mirai had casually sent him flying with a single kick.

A palpable sense of pressure began to fill the room.

Mirai sat down nonchalantly, his tone calm and unhurried.

"Now, will you listen to what I have to say?"

A wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, his anger momentarily tempered by the sobering reality of Mirai's strength. He chose not to attack again.

Seeing A settle down, Ōnoki, the Tsuchikage, spoke gravely.

"Hokage, what do you mean by discussing the future of the shinobi world?"

Mirai's gaze was steady as he replied, "The previous Shinobi World Wars have already proven that the current system is incapable of sustaining lasting peace."

"The disparities in geography create uneven resource distribution, and the divisions between nations hinder genuine communication."

"I intend to unify the entire shinobi world. Under a single empire, resources will be shared and managed collectively."

"The peace that everyone yearns for—permanent peace—will become a reality."

"I call this plan the 'Unification Initiative.'"

Ōnoki's expression darkened as he retorted, "Every nation has its own way of overcoming hardships. We don't need someone else to rule us."

"Generations of hatred won't vanish so easily. Your plan is nothing more than a pipe dream."

Mirai shook his head slowly.

"It's precisely because of such short-sighted thinking that this world remains mired in endless conflict."

"As for hatred..."

"When faced with despair, people will naturally abandon thoughts of revenge."

Mifune, the leader of the samurai, spoke coldly.

"Stop deluding yourself, Mirai! After everything you've done, your fate is sealed. Death is the only ending waiting for you."

"You'd better surrender now if you want to spare Konoha more casualties."

Yagura, the Fourth Mizukage, added grimly, "Hokage, do you really think a few grandiose words are enough to make us bow to your will?"

Mirai wasn't surprised by their reactions. This was exactly the outcome he had anticipated.

Without making them confront true terror firsthand, even a united shinobi world would be plagued by endless strife.

With that thought, Mirai stood and declared, "In that case, I hereby announce…"

"The Fourth Shinobi World War begins now."

"Prepare yourselves for war."

A collective gulp swept through the room. No one had expected Mirai to double down and so openly declare war. His unwillingness to compromise was beyond anything they had imagined.

A madman.

That was the only word that came to mind.

Terumi Mei had a complicated expression on her face. She recalled the aftermath of the Third Shinobi World War when she had served as an envoy to Konoha. Back then, Mirai had spoken of his vision for a unified world.

She had dismissed him as a lunatic.

But now, here he was, making that same declaration in front of every leader—and backing it with undeniable strength.

He hadn't been joking. He truly intended to unify the shinobi world.

"Today's discussion ends here."

"The next time we meet will be on the battlefield."

With that, Mirai turned to leave.

Mifune drew his blade and shouted, "Uchiha Mirai! Do you think you can come and go as you please? Even the legendary Hashirama Senju once had to bow his head in peace negotiations. Who do you think you are?"

"You won't leave the Land of Iron alive!"

Mirai glanced back at Mifune, his gaze calm yet mocking.

"How laughable."

Limbo: Border Jail!

Mifune's instincts screamed danger. Though he couldn't see what Mirai had done, years of experience told him to flee immediately.

But before he could move, invisible forces pierced his neck, chest, abdomen, and kidneys.

Squelch!

Blood gushed from his mouth as Mifune stared at his ruined body in disbelief. His gaze filled with fear.

He had barely had a chance to fight—and now he was dying, helpless and broken.

"Damn it… I'm not ready to die…"

Eyes wide open, Mifune collapsed to the ground with a thud, lifeless.

The others in the room stared in stunned silence. No one dared to look at Mifune's corpse, their eyes were glued to Mirai.

"This... this isn't the Mangekyō Sharingan. What kind of eyes are those?"

"Could Uchiha Mirai have gained a new power?"

"That overwhelming, terrifying strength... it feels even more dangerous than the Mangekyō!"

Sweat soaked their backs as an oppressive silence fell over the room.

They didn't know the term Rinnegan, but they understood one thing: if Mirai had targeted any of them, they would have shared Mifune's fate.

Mirai gave them a final, chilling smile.

"Looking forward to our next meeting."

"Goodbye."

With that, he vanished.

Only after Mirai was gone did the tension in the room ease slightly. Ōnoki, A, and Yagura exchanged uneasy glances.

The crushing pressure from moments ago still lingered in their minds.

"What do we do now?" Ōnoki asked, his voice grim.

A clenched his fists, his expression resolute.

"We proceed with the plan. Attack Konoha."

"Uchiha Mirai's abilities are special, but once we understand his techniques, killing him won't be impossible."

As long as he lived, A would never back down.

Yagura, still under genjutsu control, coldly added, "Then it's settled."

"Tsuchikage, I hope you don't lose your nerve when the time comes."

Watching A and Yagura leave, Ōnoki gritted his teeth. "Kitsuchi, we're going too."

He had led Iwagakure for decades and would not let it fall under his watch.

Years ago, Uchiha Madara had been an insurmountable force.

But today…

Ōnoki was determined to see whether his Dust Release could triumph over these legendary eyes!
