"Ninja Art: Formation of Four Violet Flames!"
In an instant, a translucent violet barrier spread out, encasing the Fourth Kazekage, Rasa, and the Third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi, within it.
This unexpected development stunned everyone present.
The Chunin Exams had been progressing smoothly. Why were the Kazekage and Hokage suddenly trapped inside a barrier?
Even the Fourth Raikage, A, the Third Tsuchikage, Onoki among others, were caught off guard, clueless as to what was unfolding.
Immediately, Konoha's ANBU members gathered beneath the arena.
Not long after, a group of renowned shinobi, including Namikaze Minato, Hyuga Hiashi, Nara Shikaku, and Inuzuka Tsume, also arrived on the scene.
However, they all merely watched the spectacle in silence, showing no signs of taking action.
At this moment, Uchiha Mirai appeared with members of the Konoha Police Force in tow.
"What's going on? Someone's attacking the Third Hokage, and none of you are stepping in to help?"
Mirai's sharp reprimand prompted Hyuga Hiashi to reply firmly, "Mirai-sama, the Formation of Four Violet Flames is a defensive barrier. Anything that comes into contact with it will be instantly incinerated."
"Unless the ones who cast the barrier deactivate it willingly, breaking through from the outside is impossible."
After Hiashi's explanation, Nara Shikaku nodded in agreement. Left with no other choice, Mirai could only relent.
The crowd murmured among themselves, astonished and bewildered, their eyes fixed on the high platform.
"Could it be that the Kazekage attacked the Hokage?"
Onoki and A, along with the other observers, exchanged puzzled looks.
"What is Konoha up to now?"
Though perplexed, none of the spectators moved a muscle. Onoki, A stood by, entertained by the unfolding drama.
Seeing this, Mirai smirked faintly and quickly formed a series of hand seals.
Behind him, a cloaked man in black stirred as his consciousness gradually returned.
"This… is Konoha?"
"I thought I was dead…"
The man's muttering was interrupted by a cold chuckle.
"Fugaku, open your eyes and watch carefully. The show is just getting started."
Uchiha Fugaku's body stiffened.
'Mirai… He's summoned me back from the Pure Land again!'
Fugaku wanted to resist, but he found himself unable to move.
"All you need to do is watch," Mirai said, his voice cold. "It's time you faced reality."
Gritting his teeth, Fugaku spat, "I've already taken my own life. Why won't you leave me in peace?"
"Because your cowardice nearly got us all killed," Mirai replied flatly. "I will not tolerate such weakness."
"You will see for yourself just how foolish your ideals were."
Mirai added with a hint of mockery, "You should be thankful I don't have… particular preferences. Otherwise, your suffering would be a thousandfold worse."
...
Inside the Barrier
Hiruzen glared at Rasa, his tone icy. "Fourth Kazekage, what is the meaning of this?"
In response, Rasa let out a chilling laugh, his tongue snaking out to lick his own cheek.
Hiruzen's pupils contracted—he recognized that action all too well.
As Rasa peeled off his face, revealing the truth beneath, a raspy voice echoed through the barrier.
"Even now, you didn't recognize me, Sensei? You really are getting old."
Hiruzen's heart sank. "Orochimaru!"
The revelation outside the barrier sent waves through the crowd.
"What?! The Kazekage was Orochimaru in disguise?"
"Orochimaru… The Third Hokage's student and former successor to the title of Hokage, now a wanted S-rank rogue ninja. He's here for revenge!"
"Pakura-sama… does this mean the real Kazekage was killed that day?"
"Damn Orochimaru! Don't you dare harm the Third Hokage!"
"The Hokage can't fall here!"
As the citizens of Konoha roared in anger, Orochimaru sneered.
"Ah, Sensei, your reputation among the villagers truly precedes you."
Hiruzen, his expression darkening, demanded, "Is this all part of Uchiha Mirai's plan?"
Orochimaru nodded casually. "That's right."
The weight of realization hit Hiruzen hard.
Mirai had previously claimed he would ruin Hiruzen's reputation. At the time, Hiruzen had dismissed it as a hollow threat.
Unlike Danzo, Koharu, or Homura, Hiruzen had spent decades cultivating an image of diligence and integrity among Konoha's people. Such a foundation wouldn't crumble with mere rumors.
Even if Mirai forcibly tarnished his name, Hiruzen believed the truth would prevail.
But now, Mirai had joined forces with Orochimaru.
Anything Orochimaru revealed would carry an entirely different weight.
As Hiruzen deliberated, Orochimaru's voice, laced with chakra, echoed through the arena.
"I'm sure everyone is curious why I risked my life to confront my former teacher…"
The once-chaotic arena grew eerily silent as all eyes turned toward Orochimaru.
Satisfied with the attention, Orochimaru continued, "Today, I'll share with you all the ten deadly sins of the Third Hokage!"
The crowd buzzed with disbelief.
"Ten sins? The Hokage, guilty of crimes? Impossible!"
"There's no way. Orochimaru must be lying."
"This is getting interesting. If Orochimaru is speaking out now, it must be something significant."
Not giving Hiruzen a chance to intervene, Orochimaru infused his voice with mockery.
"Come now, Sensei, don't be so hasty."
"At least let me finish speaking."
Hiruzen's expression hardened.
"Orochimaru, you won't escape this time."
"A student can never surpass their teacher in a one-on-one fight."
Orochimaru chuckled. "You're absolutely right, Sensei. Which is why I never intended for this to be one-on-one."
Forming hand seals, he slammed his hands onto the ground.
"Edo Tensei!"
