"Mirai-sensei, you awakened your Mangekyō Sharingan purely through your mental strength?"
Shisui asked in shock.
To awaken such a power without undergoing any intense emotional trauma… Just how high is Mirai's talent?
Seeing Shisui's astonishment, Mirai chuckled softly.
"That's why my Mangekyō Sharingan is different from others'."
"Those who awaken their Mangekyō Sharingan through emotional trauma often find their eyes sinking into darkness. But if the awakening is a natural result of mental growth, such side effects can be avoided."
"I see."
Shisui nodded seriously, finally understanding something that had puzzled him. No wonder the clan often whispered concerns about how long Mirai's Mangekyō Sharingan could last. Yet, Mirai never seemed worried, freely wielding its power without hesitation.
So that's the reason… Truly, Mirai is extraordinary.
"Shisui, the method of awakening a Mangekyō Sharingan through mental growth isn't recorded in our clan's history. This is something only you and I know."
Shisui's face turned solemn as he replied firmly, "I swear, Mirai-sensei, I won't tell anyone about this."
Mirai, however, didn't seem particularly guarded. After all, what he'd just said was pure fabrication—an excuse to explain why his Mangekyō Sharingan wouldn't go blind.
Whether Shisui kept it secret or not didn't really matter to him.
After discussing the Mangekyō Sharingan a bit further, Mirai ended their conversation.
Noticing the evening sky outside, Shisui scratched the back of his head, embarrassed.
"Mirai-sensei, I didn't realize it had gotten so late. I haven't—"
Mirai smiled and shook his head. "It's just as well. I was about to prepare dinner. Why don't you stay and eat with me?"
Hearing this, Shisui jumped up excitedly. "I'll help!"
The next morning, Mirai arrived at the Konoha Police Force headquarters early, only to find a large crowd gathered out front.
Frowning, he walked forward slowly.
In the courtyard, six masked shinobi were surrounded by angry Uchiha police officers. Every officer's face displayed a mix of fury and frustration.
Despite this, the six masked shinobi remained cold and unyielding.
"This is your final warning. Under orders from Danzo-sama and the Third Hokage, we are here to take Utatane Gentarō and Mitokado Kazashi. If you continue to obstruct us, don't blame us for—"
"Oh? Don't blame you for what exactly?"
A calm voice interrupted them.
Relief washed over the Uchiha officers as they turned to see Mirai approaching.
Mirai is here!
The six Root members turned to face him, their tone unchanged.
"If you continue to block us, we will treat you as traitors."
Mirai waved his hand dismissively at his officers.
"Why are you all standing here blocking the way? Step aside."
"Yes!"
The officers immediately formed orderly lines on either side of the gate.
Only then did Mirai look at the six Root members. "You claim to have orders from the Hokage, but I don't see any written decree."
The leader of the Root team sneered, "We represent Danzo-sama and the Third Hokage directly. We don't need a written order."
Mirai let out a cold laugh, walking past them into the courtyard.
"If you don't have a written order, get lost. If you keep blocking the entrance, I'll arrest you for obstructing public order."
The Root shinobi snorted disdainfully at his words. Obstructing public order? What a ridiculous excuse.
No one but Danzo-sama could impose any restrictions on them.
Their confidence unshaken, they stepped forward, blocking Mirai's path again.
"Uchiha Mirai, we'll say this one more time: hand over Utatane Gentarō and Mitokado Kazashi—"
Before the sentence could be completed, a flash of silver light streaked through the air.
In the blink of an eye, all six shinobi clutched their throats and collapsed to the ground, lifeless.

[Ding!...]
"You… you dare…"
One of the Root shinobi gasped in disbelief, his voice filled with shock and resentment. They hadn't expected Mirai to attack them so openly within the village.
"Leader!"
The Uchiha officers were equally stunned, their faces filled with disbelief.
No one had imagined that Mirai would kill all six Root members without hesitation.
Mirai turned to his officers. "Report this to the Third Hokage. Tell him six dangerous individuals attempting to storm the police headquarters have been neutralized."
"Yes, sir!"
Hachidai immediately set off to deliver the message.
Mirai gestured toward the remaining officers. "Dump their bodies at the Hokage Building."
"Understood!"
Hachidai and his team eagerly set to work.
Mirai swept his gaze over the gathered officers, his expression cold. "Have you forgotten the pride of the Uchiha? Are we so cowed that any nobody dares to challenge us at the police force headquarters?"
"If you cause trouble, I'll back you up. But if you let yourselves be pushed around again, you can leave the police force. I don't need cowards here."
Having said his piece, Mirai turned and strode into the building.
The officers were left blushing in shame, their pride stung.
"We've been too soft. Compared to Mirai, we're pathetic."
"Exactly. We should've dealt with those Root bastards ourselves. Their arrogance is insufferable."
"Since following Mirai, I feel like I've regained my spine. It feels great!"
"Right! With Mirai backing us, what do we have to fear? Let's go all out!"
Amid the chatter, Shisui quietly observed the crowd, noting which clan members appeared troubled or dissatisfied.
Only Mirai is fit to lead the Uchiha.
Those who fail to support him are traitors to the clan. They've lost the Uchiha's pride, and their existence only brings shame.
Once I'm strong enough, they must be dealt with.
