Chapter 34 - Contract

The room beyond the door was spacious, like a palace with large, thick pillars that supported the ceiling.

The man was strange, but Eugene felt as if he had met or felt his presence before. There was no doubt about it: it was he who gave the lion that inspiration.

The feeling he was now feeling was strange, it was not fear or dread or uncertainty but something else that can only be described as ominous.

Eugene threw that away; if the man wanted him dead, he wouldn't know when he died. So, he might as well follow and take his chances.

The place was well designed, but the man before Eugene had taken all his attention; he didn't have the luxury to even observe around.

A part of him wanted to look at the man but the idea of facing the man was not a very good feeling.

Eugene wanted to make a snickering remark but found his mind empty; apart from filling the man, no thought was reaching his brain.
